To meditate is to become a stage where the eternal and transitory meet, so that our actions can become those of the eternal, for which we are but mediators; we are the eyes and the hands of the primal spirit, who sees and creates through us. Out of the spirit, then, let us create a better world.”-Rudolf Steiner

Dear Friends – Our imaginative cognition is a treasure when it spins out scenarios that are aligned with our higher “I”. Then it’s an indispensable tool in creating a reality that brings in the flow of the universe. Nothing manifests on the material plane unless it first exists as a mental picture. We can form images of the tools we hope to wield in the world, & the conditions we’d like to inhabit.

Rachel Handly

But for most of us, the imagination is as much a curse as a blessing. We are just as likely to use it to conjure up premonitions that are at odds with our conscious values. Fearful fantasies regularly pop up, many disguising themselves as rational thoughts & genuine intuitions. They hijack our psychic energy, directing it to exhaust itself in dead-end deliberations.

Meanwhile, ill-suited longings are also lurking in our unconscious mind, impelling us to want things that aren’t good for us. Anytime we surrender to their allure, our imagination is practicing a form of black magic.

Berty Willis

These unsavory aspects of our imagination are what Zen Buddhists describe as the chatter of the “monkey mind.” If we can stop associating our sense of self with this endless surge of slapdash distractions & fruitless fantasies, then we can ‘Be Here Now’ to see what is actually needed.

di Vinci

But whether our imagination is in service to our noble ideals or in the thrall of compulsive fears & inappropriate yearnings, there is one thing for sure: These thoughts can become prophesies.

Of course many of our visions of the future do not come to pass – Thank the good gods – The situations we expect to occur & the experiences we rehearse & dwell on, all the worry about the future, just zaps us, & lames our will. It’s downright self-destructive to keep infecting our imaginations with pictures of loss & failure, doom & gloom, fear & loathing.

Freddy Zentral

The far more sensible approach is to anticipate & actualize blessings…

Join us everyday at 10:10 am/pm when we can join our cognitive imagination together to become spiritual warriors, and endeavor to take up the practice of building up positive imaginations on the inner planes as a counterforce to the adversarial forces working in the world. This is a “key-call” to the Spiritual Powers aligned with love and light, to enlist their aid.

This verse can be an anchor for a group Thought-Form created by our Willed Visualization– to be conceived each day at 10:10 AM, (&/or PM)wherever you are, so it moves like a wave across the globe:

“When I think light, my soul shines,
When my soul shines, the earth is a star,
When the earth is a star, then I am, a true human being”.
~Herbert Hahn

Our Good Will becomes a cosmic energy field for healing – “Seed ideas in the group mind of humanity”, to co-create our highest intentions for the evolution of humanity – that the Earth may become a Sacred Planet – a Sun – and every Human Being a Star. “What is sown in our highest thought will grow and bear seed.” It only takes the square root of any number of people to create change.

See you, dear friends, in the ethers every day 10:10 AM, (&/or PM) (10 is the number of completion, but please don’t worry if you can’t tune in at 10:10, just do it whenever you think of it, which may be many times a day, or perhaps only occasionally, don’t stress it, just do what you can with a loving heart-mind)

PLEASE SHARE THE GOOD WORD (& Let me know if you are taking on the project)

  1. I’ll consider this 10:10 idea, and let you know if I take it up. Regardless, I’m sure our thoughts are connecting in the universal consciousness – the reason I say that is, that in this new year, your blogs have been communicating many of the thoughts I’m entertaining, plus you’re even answering some of the questions I’m pondering.

Excellent quote from Steiner on meditation. This idea of being the mediator is one I’ve been puzzling over. Here’s why – in his Intuitive Thinking book (aka P. of F.), he says this: “Human consciousness is the stage where concept and observation meet and are connected to one another. This is, in fact, what characterizes human consciousness. It is the mediator between thinking and observation.” (pg. 52, Lipson translation).

Now, that applies to human consciousness. What I’ve been puzzling over is what I call Christ Consciousness. I don’t know if Steiner uses that expression, but I do know he continually refers to “not I, but Christ in me” – same quality. Here, in this quote you’ve given us, I see the link. It’s when we subjugate our human consciousness in meditation that we can live in this Christ Consciousness – at least in the thought department, and as you point out, thoughts can become prophesies. The way I express it is that thoughts are deeds. In this Christ Consciousness, we become a “higher” form of mediator – we become the eyes and the hands of the primal Spirit.

You quoted Augustine; I’ll do likewise: “What does love look like? It has the hands to help others. It has the feet to hasten to the poor and needy. It has the eyes to see misery and want. It has the ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of men.” Such loving actions are the fruits of a meditation practice that lives in this Christ Consciousness.

    1. Yes, I agree whether or not you join in on the 10:10 egregore, we are still co-creating many thought-seeds together.
And we have such powerful allies in these great teachers you quote, as well as the the Spiritual Beings we are consciously rising to meet with our soul forces.
May the Christ seed that grows thru our human striving continue to grow strong roots & ever blossom

      1. I think those Spiritual Beings you mention are the reason our minds meet through your blog. Someday we’ll learn, if we don’t already apprehend it, that there are no coincidences. Those Beings appreciate our receptivity to their work, and want that Christ seed to be fruitful. We really are blessed by them, when we see so many who don’t have eyes to see and ears to hear. I’m grateful to have spiritual organs of perception, and desire to develop them as much as I’m able to, with their help of course.

        1. Yes, & exhibiting the reverence & gratitude which your post displays brings them ever closer…
          Thanks you…

And also I find there is a certain power in a synchronized meditation that brings a special power to time & space, concentrating the light of our combined energies like a laser, that is much needed right now…

          1. Indeed, this is very special. The 10:10 Thought Seed has a history that is yet not known, and while I have used and even exploited it for many years now, I had to try to downplay the usage of the term: Egregore, which has many other psychological implications. For me, the term implies ‘Gorgons’ and I even see these figures whenever Hazel mentions the term. Well, it can be discussed at any time.

What I find so extraordinary is the fact that it was a period of 1010 years between 869 and 1879 that Michael set up the present system. Well, Rudolf Steiner would elaborate this system. So, for a 10:10 daily thought inspiration to exist today seems quite relevant on the scale of the microcosm. If the Sun represents the zodiac in 24 hours, then why not a daily verse, or thought-seed, which recognizes Michael?

You say, “Not I But Christ in me”, which Paul certainly realized. What if it can be shown that this has expanded into, “Not I But Christ and Michael in me”? This is true, but difficult still, even amongst anthroposophists.

            1. Yes, the ugly egregores always get all the attention, that’s why it is important to co-create one in line with, as you say, Christ, Michael,& Sophia.

Acknowledging the transition between 869 & 1879 is big, thanks for that connection!

              1. I knew you would remember that fact, and it is quite profound. 1010 is also the distance from 869 to 1879. I don’t get too hung up on the idea of egregore thought seed, but I do like the daily meditation. I was doing it for many years before your blog came along. This is what is all important. We want Maverick to see the light. Gnosis only enlightens faith. Steiner gave two awesome lectures on Martin Luther here in GA 176, which I blessed to our friend Maverick. Faith, as such, is the cornerstone of a higher development, which Paul perceived and then further realized as Martin Luther.

              2. I hope I do “see the light” – it seems to be drawing closer.

Thanks for your mention of faith. I am still searching for the answer to why Steiner never seemed to complete the thought he mentioned so often – the idea that it’s “not I, but Christ in me”, leading us on in our journey. What I mean by that is that Paul’s original thought, from which this phrase is taken, concludes with the words, “and the life I now live, I live by faith…” (Galatians 2:20). I suspect it has something to do with not wanting people to get the wrong impression, that by mentioning “faith”, they might think he’s promoting some sort of cult or religion. But faith is a word that’s been vastly misunderstood and misapplied.

I read a blog recently, from which I gained a new understanding of what the word faith implies. British author Sarah Clarkson used two words which effected this change: “remembering forward”. I’m not sure that she connected these words with faith, but my mind certainly did. My mind immediately went to the expression sometimes used for God – the One “who was, who is, and who is to come”. This is the state we humans live in – we remember backwards, while living in the present, but we also place hope in, and journey towards, the future. I realized that living with faith is simply remembering forward – that is, I remember how faithful God has been in the past, and how “not one word has failed of all the good promises He made” (Joshua 24:15), and I trust that that same faithfulness will guide and direct me (and all of us) into the future. This is how I now live and have hope, by “remembering forward”.

Somehow I feel that if Steiner could have used those two words, instead of the hugely misunderstood word “faith”, he may have completed Paul’s entire thought, considering that he must have spent a great deal of his time in that world where time becomes murky, where each phase of the One “who was, who is, and who is to come” contributes to and complements the other phases.

              3. We are given pieces of the puzzle & then we are meant to find the others as you are doing…
I like this connection between remembering forward & faith. I also think of it as calling in the future & I guess that’s where hope comes in.
And of course Love is always at the center…

              4. What if it can be shown that Paul’s famous phrase, “Not I But Christ in Me”, has been expanded into “Not I But Christ and Michael in Me”? This question has been asked before, and still no listening ears. It is good to get the perspective again. Thanks, Maverick.

You seem so big on Paul, and maybe even Martin Luther, who resurrected his faith. Yet, Gnosis is real, and it does not have to be rationalized down to faith as a higher achievement. Both Faith and reason prevail. One knows the other as a combination, and Steiner realized this fact. Thus, the New Gnosis. Good conversation to have in seeing that I am still where I’m at. Thanks.

              5. I’m not sure why you would say no listening ears, I have often agreed with this inclusion of Michael & have added Sophia to the list

              6. It’s not that we’re not listening Steve, when you talk about “Michael in me”. Have you considered that it might be more of an individual experience for your understanding alone, since you say that no one’s listening? For myself, I find it expanding enough to imagine “Christ in me”, without bringing Michael into the equation. Besides, Michael’s quite the warrior, and I don’t know if I’m ready for that kind of commitment. Perhaps that’s why I don’t “hear” the same message you’re getting – you may be ready for the presence of a warrior, not so much for me.

Paul was given the amazing gift of communicating to us some of the biggest mysteries that even angels longed to look into – mysteries that even God’s OT prophets didn’t have knowledge of. So it’s interesting to me that in Ephesians 5, Paul speaks of a great mystery that even he didn’t have knowledge of – he could only give us the image of husband and wife to speak of it. This is probably because the Revelation hadn’t been given, in which the image of the bride and bridegroom continues – an image begun in the Gospels, when Jesus spoke of a great wedding. In Revelation 21, the angel is able to show John the bride of the Lamb, wedded to her bridegroom, after going through the process of self-knowledge and preparation in the preceding chapters. Yes, this image of ourselves as both bride and bridegroom, and the process of preparations needed for the bride to be ready for this state of being, is one that raises our gnosis to another level.

              7. I am thinking of Paul now, two thousand years later. Would the reincarnated Paul really perceive Michael as a living force and power; the power of the Cosmic Intelligence? Would Paul have to find his way to Anthroposophy in order to make the connection that expands his Christ Consciousness? At what point in time does the evolution of Michael from Archangel to Archai become perceptible in Time for all of humanity?

There is some evidence in those lectures from GA 176 that Rudolf Steiner was referring Martin Luther back to Paul. What Martin Luther was gripped so strongly by, and why he felt there could be no compromise to faith as the only means to spirit perception, and this had become by the 16th century a very “narrow path”, was the extent to which the veil of Isis had been drawn down in order to realize the Intellectual Soul. He still felt very close to his prior lives in the fourth cultural epoch.
