POD (Poem Of the Day)
~My song raps itself around
The belly of the New Sophia
Pulsing in union with The Logos
In rhythm with the Sun streaming
In the All-Space of the Fixed Stars
Forming fresh consonants
Into the aura of imaginations
That inform my soul thru rolling vowels
Of planetary bodies
That sing their echo into my open ear…

Sergei O. Prokofieff was the 1st to confirm my connection with the New Isis. And his dedication to the 1st Class Lessons birthed in me a true knowing. He opened for me the living reality of the ‘New Mysteries’, revealing the relationship of the Christ-Sophia in this Michael age, with Rudolf Steiner & Christian Rosenkreutz, which we as human beings are called to explore & develop. “The Cycle of the Year as a Path of Initiation – A Esoteric Study of the Festivals” is my Bible – my calling, my life’s work. “The Occult Significance of Forgiveness” changed my life (I am of course still striving here) And the massive work “May Human Beings Hear It” which convinced me to dedicate myself to the Foundation Stone Meditation, has kept me involved in the Anthroposophical Society, when the human failings & karmic knots would have driven me away; pointing up the living reality of the Christmas Conference, which I feel a personal & collective responsibility to fulfill.
My heart spills over with gratitude for this true initiate, this true anthroposopher, this true human being, who continues to be my mentor from across the Threshold.
“Anthroposophia seeks to become a new group-soul for that part of humankind which is united within the General Anthroposophical Society founded by Rudolf Steiner at the Christmas Conference of 1923-24, thereby representing a kind of archetype for the whole of future evolution & at the same time initiating that universally human process which Rudolf Steiner described in the following words: ‘When people gather together in voluntary associations, they group themselves around focal points. The feelings that stream together at such a focal point now gives Beings the opportunity to work as a kind of group-soul, though in a completely different sense from the former unconscious group-souls. All previous group-souls were beings who made man unfree. These New Beings, however, are wholly compatible with the freedom & preservation of human individuality’.
Anthroposophia would seek to become the 1st of these Beings in our time. However, whether this is possible depends not on this Being alone, but also on human beings.
Thus by uniting with one another in the General Anthroposophical Society out of a love for Anthroposophia & a wish to serve her as a real, living Being, anthroposophist’s throughout the world have the task of together creating on Earth something akin to an all embracing soul-chalice into which this supersensible Being, the youngest member of the heavenly Sophia, can descend. And this means none other than the beginning of the incarnation of the heavenly Sophia on Earth. (this will come about in the 7th epoch, but of which we must prepare now)
Only from this grandiose perspective can we really understand the inner significance of the deed wrought by Rudolf Steiner at the Christmas Conference, a deed which represents the high-point & culmination of the entire 21 year development of the anthroposophical movement (1902-23) – a ‘Turning Point of Time’ – For it signified the birth on Earth of her ego in the sheaths of the General Anthroposophical Society. In this way the foundation was laid, or-one could say-the possibility created, for the further working of Anthroposophia in the midst as a New Group-Soul.” ~Sergei O. Prokofieff, “The Heavenly Sophia and the Being Anthroposophia”
May we take up this task to give birth to Anthroposophia, this Being of Human Wisdom, within ourselves, to serve the world.
Sergei Olegovitch was the grandson of the composer Sergei Prokofiev. Born in Moscow, he studied fine arts & painting at the Moscow School of Art. He encountered anthroposophy in his youth, & soon made the decision to devote his life to it. Prokofieff, wrote his first book, Rudolf Steiner and the Founding of the New Mysteries, while living in Soviet Russia. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, he was a co-founder of the Anthroposophical Society in Russia. At Easter 2001, he became a member of the Executive Council of the General Anthroposophical Society in Dornach, Switzerland. Prokofieff was a prolific author; at the core of his work is an attempt to develop a deepened understanding for Christianity on the basis of Rudolf Steiner’s spiritual-scientific research. Prokofieff left us a treasure trove of Works
Thank you dear Sergei for your continued inspiration.

The Calendar of the Soul by Rudolf Steiner, Verse 17
The Cosmic Word,
the world has let me lead
through senses’ gates to soul ground, speaks:
‘Imagine in your spirit depths
my worldwide space
to find in future Me in you’
~Translated by Roy Sadler
26 July 2020 – ‘Speaking with the Stars’ – Bella Luna, almost at 1st quarter, shines in the Southwest as the stars come out. Look for Spica sparkling about a fist to her left. Almost 3x’s as far above the Moon is brighter Arcturus.
The Sagittarius Teapot is in the south these evenings; find it right of Jupiter & Saturn. With the advance of summer, the Teapot is starting to tilt & pour from its spout to the right. The Teapot will tilt farther & farther for the rest of the summer — or for much of the night if you stay out late.
The tail of Scorpius is lower right of the Teapot, by hardly a fist at arm’s length. Look for the two stars especially close together in the tail. These are Lambda & fainter Upsilon Scorpii, known as the Cat’s Eyes. They’re canted at an angle; the cat is tilting his head & winking.
Rudolf Steiner’s Lectures on this day
ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY
Feast of Saint Anne, mother of Mary, & grandmother of Jesus according to apocryphal Christian & Islamic tradition.
1856 – Birthday of George Bernard Shaw, Irish playwright & critic, Nobel Prize laureate.
1875 – Birthday of Carl Jung, Swiss psychiatrist & psychotherapist. Jung was also an artist, craftsman & builder as well as a prolific writer. Many of his works were not published until after his death & some are still awaiting publication.
Among the central concepts of analytical psychology is individuation—the lifelong psychological process of differentiation of the self out of each individual’s conscious & unconscious elements. Jung considered it to be the main task of human development. He created some of the best known psychological concepts, including synchronicity, archetypal phenomena, the collective unconscious, the psychological complex, & extraversion / introversion.
When Jung was six months old, tension between his parents was growing. Emilie Jung, his mother was an eccentric & depressed woman; she spent considerable time in her bedroom where she said that spirits visited her at night. Although she was normal during the day, Jung recalled that at night his mother became strange & mysterious. He reported that one night he saw a faintly luminous & indefinite figure coming from her room with a head detached from the neck, floating in the air in front of the body. Jung was a solitary, introverted child.
From childhood, he believed that, like his mother, he had 2 personalities—a modern Swiss citizen & a personality more suited to the 18th century. Personality Number 1″, as he termed it, was a typical schoolboy living in the era of the time. “Personality Number 2” was a dignified, authoritative & influential man from the past. A number of childhood memories made lifelong impressions on him. As a boy, he carved a tiny mannequin into the end of the wooden ruler from his pencil case & placed it inside the case. He added a stone, which he had painted into upper & lower halves, & hid the case in the attic. Periodically, he would return to the mannequin, often bringing tiny sheets of paper with messages inscribed on them in his own secret language. He later reflected that this ceremonial act brought him a feeling of inner peace &security. Years later, he discovered similarities between his personal experience & the practices associated with totems in indigenous cultures, such as the collection of soul-stones near Arlesheim or the tjurungas of Australia. He concluded that his intuitive ceremonial act was an unconscious ritual, which he had practiced in a way that was strikingly similar to those in distant locations which he, as a young boy, knew nothing about. His observations about symbols, archetypes, & the collective unconscious were inspired, in part, by these early experiences combined with his later research.
At the age of 12, shortly before the end of his first year at the Humanistisches Gymnasium in Basel, Jung was pushed to the ground by another boy so hard that he momentarily lost consciousness. A thought then came to him—”now you won’t have to go to school anymore.” From then on, whenever he walked to school or began homework, he fainted. He remained at home for the next 6 months until he overheard his father speaking hurriedly to a visitor about the boy’s future ability to support himself. They suspected he had epilepsy. Confronted with the reality of his family’s poverty, he realized the need for academic excellence. He went into his father’s study & began pouring over Latin grammar. He eventually overcame the urge & did not faint again. This event, Jung later recalled, “was when I learned what a neurosis is.”
Jung did not plan to study psychiatry since it was not considered prestigious at the time. But, when looking at a psychiatric textbook, his interest was immediately captured—it combined the biological & the spiritual, exactly what he was searching for.
In 1895 Jung began to study medicine at the University of Basel. Barely a year later in 1896, his father Paul died & left the family near destitute. They were helped out by relatives who also contributed to Jung’s studies.
During his student days, he entertained his contemporaries with the family legend, that his paternal grandfather was the illegitimate son of Wolfgang Goethe & his German great-grandmother, Sophie Ziegler. In later life, he pulled back from this tale, saying only that Sophie was a friend of Goethe’s niece.

Hazel, I like these remarks, and care for your intention, but it can be shown that the Being Anthroposophia was designated as an individual person, and separate living being in Steiner’s singular descriptions given in lectures 7 & 8 in GA 258. Thus, she is described as such, and I would offer the Wedgwood translation for this additional emendation from the 1938 translation.
Now, here is the case, and I know that you are inspired. Dante reincarnated in the 19th century, and yet, as Steiner indicates here, it could be perceived as kind of failure of initiation. Yet, Dante was a very important initiate from the 13th century.
“In the successive epochs of human evolution we find one remarkable phenomenon. I could give examples of what I have just told you of the confusing way in which initiates on reincarnating sometimes appear to have come down from their heights. You would probably be much surprised if I told you, for instance, in what way Dante was reincarnated in the nineteenth century. But it is not my task here to discuss further this result of my own investigation and what was established for me. Rather have I to bring forward with strong proof the things known to everyone conversant with occultism, letting everything else recede into the background and stating nothing that is not generally recognised where bona fide occultism is upheld.” GA 138, lecture two, August 28, 1912.
So, you see how Steiner is inferring something that gets an opportunity to be said next, which in this case are the lectures given to the Berlin branch in early February 1913, when he tells them that the German Section of the Theosophical Society has been dissolved, and so he is going forward with what can be called, “Anthroposophy”. He tells very closely what it means with the lectures from February 3 & 4 1913. The figure of Dante is expressed throughout the former, and his own cousin in the latter. This is not to be missed, and yet the larger issue still remains unknown to this day.
There can be no doubt that the cousin is the Being Anthroposophia, who implored the young boy sitting in the Pottschach railway station to help her “now and later”. He even explains himself what it means. His autobiography is filled with its meaning, and this did not even begin until early December 1923. So, indeed, you need to hear Steiner’s own words from the lecture of 4 February 1913. He even talks about the one who encouraged him to take up the study of Fichte, and then the herb-gatherer who he met on the train into Vienna. These were the three instrumental experiences in the early life of Rudolf Steiner.
Yet, the cousin who died after taking her own life; the reincarnated Dante, is the most important one for obvious reasons.
all very interesting, but i guess i am stuck on this idea that Anthroposophia can be in just one person. Perhaps that is not what you mean at all, perhaps you are giving this as a for instance? The Being of Anthroposophia can be, & must be, seen in many.
After the fire, in which Rudolf Steiner’s etheric body began to withdraw, his perceptual field changed. Remember? He had to leave the scene of the fire throughout the night in order to will his etheric body to remain fast in order to continue his work. But the effects remained. He no longer could stand at the podium and survey the group soul of his audience like before. Instead, he could look all the more into individual souls, and this is when he saw the Being Anthropospophia working as an invisible person amongst them. This Being will live and work for anthroposophy as long as it takes for the movement to be membered in the millions! Then, She can die. At least, that is what the lecture says about her role.
Ok, let me try to say it this way. When Christ Jesus ‘died’ his sheaths did not die with him, his physical body went into the earth & his etheric body into the etheric of the earth etc. Steiner gives indications that certain great Saints & initiates like Christian Rosenkrutez were able to receive parts of these sheaths, copies if you will, of the being we call Jesus. Just like the Luke Jesus was able to receive the astral body of the Buddha…
i am making the same analogy here with the Being of Anthroposophia, that many people (who are worthy & whom their karma prepares) can receive this being into them, & when we come together these parts become like a group soul connecting us in the work…
Well, death of course would be only transitory, and she enters the spiritual worlds again after fulfilling a great mission on earth. She works within the individual souls as an invisible being, and they come together in that spirit of mutual cooperation. So, I believe we carry the same idea here about her work.
The Luke Jesus gave the Buddha the cosmic astral sheath when Jesus was twelve and received his individual astral body. Thus, the nirmanakaya of the Buddha was ennobled and received youthful forces for his continued mission. The relationship between Buddha and Jesus goes back to Krishna, who was the predecessor of Buddha.
Hi Hazel,
It is always interesting to consider that SOP was born in the sign of Capricorn and died in the sign of Cancer. Yet, do we know what he actually died of? Having taken on the karma of Rudolf Steiner by his own acknowledgement, it would appear to be of the same nature that took the life of Rudolf Steiner, who experienced the grand unction of his own etheric body due to being poisoned on 1 January 1924, and then experiencing the progressive decline over the next 15 months.
Yet, here is what I would like to offer in communication to you about the whole idea of the New Isis, and the Being Anthroposophia, who you identify with very much. Rudolf Steiner actually gives a kind of timeline in how this occurred. I’ll give the reference points for your evaluation first, and then a kind of explanation.

The first, from the 2nd lecture of GA 138, tells of how Dante reincarnated in the 19th century.
The second gives us a lecture from 3 February 1913, in which Dante is invoked throughout.
The third concerns Steiner’s own biographical references from when he was a little boy and experienced his own cousin coming to him deceased, having committed suicide. She was the reincarnated Dante. Sorry, but I cannot provide the full lecture.
The fourth is where Steiner speaks about the Being Anthroposophia in the 7th lecture, and tells of how he found her there working amongst his listening audience. This is the cousin who had previously pleaded, “help me now and later”, when he was a little boy and didn’t have a clue about what it meant.
She is the one who has helped later followers like Jean Gebser, who wrote, “The Ever-Present Origin”, which is an entirely anthroposophical work, c. 1952. She works even today in all of these initiatives, like those coming from Chicago, the american Heartland.
Yes, i have also pondered the fact that SOP incarnated & excarnated in opposite signs, seems an affirmation of his initiation in that life…
I believe he died of a brain tumor. I have seen this in others who have been in a position to step into a masters shoes, so yes he died too soon just like Steiner, but they were both on the Christ path.
I will review your references, but my initial reaction is that whereas Dante certainly ‘knew’ Anthroposophia, recognizing her in Beatrice, just as Novalis had his Sophia, my point in sharing SOP’s quote was to show that Anthroposophia is more of a group-soul that we can strive to embody, & that the origin of this being is the Divine Sophia which contains a pleroma of many high spiritual beings.
