August 27-30 How We Will 2020: 3-Folding our Cultural Revolution is continuing its journey of transforming our ideals into action. The theme this year is Forming Curative Communities: actively uniting with one another in the emerging economic, political/rights and social/cultural/spiritual forms seeking to reshape the ills plaguing humanity into a healthy social organism for our time. Please join us if you’d like to hear from, and collaborate with those on the front lines inspired out of the fruits of Rudolf Steiner’s work: can your own hopes for the world find a way to connect with others striving to do the good as our friend Bernard Lievegoed was wont to say? Our own hero Ella Baker shares: ‘we must not stop until we can get people to recognize that they themselves have to make the struggle for freedom and human dignity everyday, in the year, every year, until they win it.’

Invitation and Registration are now open:How We Will 2020

Michaela Gloeckler of the Medical Section in Dornach and cofounder of Allianz ELIANT brings the Archetypal Picture of Ita Wegman and the Young Doctors and their courageous movement for a Michaelic renewal of civilization as a World War II raged all around them.

Nicanor Perlas, a long time advocate for social change in the Philippines and youth mentor, will shape a conversation around ‘The Future will be what we Fight For’. His country continues to be on lockdown where they are not allowed to go outside their houses even for food and whose president recently said that he ‘would work with the military to distribute the vaccine’.

Bart Eddy of Brightmoor Makers and Sunbridge will speak to what it takes to initiate our ideals into action that are inspired by the our higher natures and our wish to serve others in our time. His ‘brought down to earth visioning’, is serving the youth in one of the poorest parts in Detroit where entrepreneurs for the good are in training, not only learning to support their own livelihoods but also empowering change in their communities where devastating health and environmental issues abound: his inspired ideas for our time keep unfolding new forms for these youth!

WILLING MOVEMENT
Three questions could support the inspiring of the formation of curative communities. What curative practices do you engage with to support your “community of self”? What does a curative community feel like? What relationships can support the forming of curative communities?

Systemic Development, Wellness Systems, Education and Mentorship can serve as practices to support the forming of curative communities. These practices formulate and express the importance of building valuable and sustainable relationships with one’s self, the other, society, the earth and the cosmos. Let’s engage as powerful hu-mans and design a healthy future!

Melody Brink will share her experience in the Moria refugee camp, working with stART International- a German-based organization which brings pedagogues and therapists into settings that have been hit either by man-made or natural disasters, to support the affected children and adults with emergency aid.”

Frank Alepha Agrama is an artist, woodworker, musician, community activist, Youth Section organizer and co founder of Elderberries’ Have Seeds House, How We Will Forum, Urban First Aid- Art As Medicine and Elderberries Biodynamic Outpost in Chicago.

Kait Ziegler

of the Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival, and Repairers of the Breach, working with Reverends William Barber and Liz Theoharis, and a small beyond dedicated team, will share on this ‘turning inside out’ and what it takes to organize for social change along side of four pillars: Racism, Poverty, Ecological Devastation and the War/Prison Economy which requires a new narrative above all and a capacity to work with those who have very divergent views in the activist community. John Bloom of Rudolf Steiner Finance and General Secretary of the Anthropsophical Society will offer a conversation Toward Justice and Freedom and Capital, Money, Spirit and Matter.

Kim Sherobbi is a retired Detroit Public Schools Teacher who has lived in her Birwood Street neighborhood for over 50 years. Kim is the founder of Birwood House; a community space where she is a listener, visionary organizer and active community member who is committed to local sustainability. At Birwood House, Kim encourages Detroit residents of all ages and visitors from across the country to take responsibility for their neighborhoods, families, and futures based on inclusion, voice, vision, love, and critical connections. Kim is also a long time Board Member of the James and Grace Lee Boggs Center.

Angela Foster

“Whether I can help, I know not; an individual helps not, but he who combines himself with many at the proper hour. We will postpone the evil, and keep hoping. Hold thy circle fast”~ the old man with the lamp

As students of spiritual science we learn that Rudolf Steiner said that the whole of Anthroposophy is contained in miniature form in a story-gift that Johann Wolfgang von Goethe bequeathed to us in 1794: The Fairy Tale of the Green Snake and the Beautiful Lily. What does this mean? How are we to understand these pictures-in-miniature and their relevance to striving human beings now in 2020? Reading with this question in my heart, the story began to reveal connections to basic practices in anthroposophy- what are often referred to ask the Six Basic Exercises. There are linguistic clues throughout the tale point to connections- can the rowdy being of light, referred to as the Will O’Wisps, teach us anything about controlling our scattered thinking? Can we find the pictures in the fairy tale that will instruct us in taming our will, finding equanimity, fostering positivity, open-mindedness and harmony? Let’s try together! Join us for a folk reading of this magical tale and experience for yourself how many voices reading and speaking aloud, in common purpose, might have healing benefits that move far beyond the realm that is visible to our physical eyes.

Laura Summer of Free Columbia, an art and education initiative in Philmont New York, will present on New Forms Around Art – Art Dispersal and Local Grants to increase diversity in diverse communities. Art Accessible to 100% of the People!

Monika Pudelko was born in Hannover Germany, studied and worked as a waldorfteacher and did later the Eurythmy training in Dornach.

During that time she developed more and more the idea to create an intentional community, where the needs of a healthy economical life are met and arts and education are present. As well as a harmonious life with nature through modern off grid technologies and the organic architecture impulse.

Sekem has been an inspiration and example for many years and still is after a visit in 2018.

Monika moved to Canada in 2012 to step by step build on her dream. After teaching Eurythmy classes at different waldorf schools in Canada she moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba.

She offered eurythmy and waldorfeducation to the local community which came with challenges but gave also lots of freedom and the potential for new creations rooted in the background and experiences of spiritual science.

Together with a small group of interested people she founded the coop Myriadvillage in 2015 in rural Manitoba, in the heart of the american continent, where she is living ,building and creating now.

Dottie Zold

Dottie Zold and Frank Agrama of the Elderberries community and newly formed Circles for a Renewal of Culture non profit, will invite an open conversation as to how it is that the Steiner students here in our country and around the world can be good advocates for emergent healing forms, where the essence of what is human is at the center of our concerns. This threefold social form has yet to be realized and yet we see all around us new forms coming into being. What do the Steiner students have to contribute to the conversation of human rights in these three realms and do we have the will to unite together for the common good of humanity? Can we organize for the future needs out of the fruits of Rudolf Steiner’s work in the world? Do we have the will for this? If so can we make a beginning at organizing and shaping our actions now?

3-fold Corona-Comets

Comet ATLAS
comet SWAN
comet NEOWISE

Dear Friends – During this Corona-crisis we have had 3 celestial harbingers – 3 trail (tail) blazing comets: Atlas, Swan & Neowise, sent into our solar system by the ever present help of the Spiritual world, to sweep up the chaos & bring clarity to the murky astrality that is pervading our thinking.

Anthroposophy and Astrology by Elisabeth Vreede

Astrosopher Dr. Elisabeth Vreede tells us: “Human beings receive what they need from the cosmos in order to become self-reliant & independent…Comets may be spoken of as constant purifiers of the spiritual atmosphere within the solar system. In earlier times men thought of them as the “scavengers of God,” and many superstitions have gathered around them. To the eye of Spirit, the mission of the comets is perpetually to expel impure astral forces from the Cosmos or to introduce new impulses…”

24 | March | 2020 | Reverse Ritual
Evelyn De Morgan

Her work helps us see that comets are born out of the spiritual necessity of the times in which they make their bright & brief appearance; creating a strengthening effect on our astral body, to give us the forces needed to step up to our highest destiny.

Comet Atlas will light up the skies later this month

Comet Atlas was the 1st to arrive, at the very beginning of the Corona-crisis. In Greek Mythology, Atlas is the Titan god who bares the heavens aloft. He personifies the quality of endurance (atlaô). Atlas turns the heavens on their axis, causing the stars to revolve, & he was also the god who instructed humankind in the art of astronomy.

image of the god Atlas - Google Search | Mythology art, Art, Painting

Could the message of the comet Atlas be that we are supposed to start bearing the weight of our collective karma, a call to endurance?

Comet SWAN Expected to Put on a Splendid Show - Sky & Telescope ...

Next came Swan – an Oort cloud comet discovered by the Solar Wind Anisotropies Network (SWAN) camera a few days after the Spring Equinox, on 25 March 2020.

The Swan In Celtic Mythology | Transceltic - Home of the Celtic ...

In Celtic mythology, the Swan is known to have links to the spirit world – able to shift between the earthly & supernatural realms. Could it be this harbinger was trying to get us to pay attention to the spiritual dimensions of the corona-crisis?

How to Control Content Marketing Better Than Neo Controlled The ...

And Comet Neowise, the most spectacular of them all, lasted the longest & recently peaked on 22-23 July 2020. It makes me think of Neo the wise fool from the Matrix. His journey holds many hallmarks of classic myth – He is the reluctant hero, the Chosen One, the savior, & the one who will lead the people to freedom. In order to do that, he must sacrifice himself, & rise from the dead. He faces progressively greater challenges, & as he begins to believe in himself, he is able to overcome all obstacles, including the ultimate adversarial powers.

Daniel Sullivan

Neowise really captured the world’s attention because of the spectacular sweep of its bright tail. But are we willing to truly awaken to the New Wisdom (Neowise) blatantly blazing across the horizon; & step out of the Matrix?

Above all, dear friends, this Corona-crisis is a call to reform our social life; & these 3 corona-comets are pointers, awakening us to the opportunity now present, to manifest the 3-fold social organism laid out by Rudolf Steiner (right after WW1 during the time of the Spanish flu epidemic in 1917)

Understanding of the world as it actually is, the ability to bring spiritual knowledge right down into the practical life of humanity, into the stubborn spheres of technical industry & economics, as well as into the thinking, the moral life & the actions of the human being – this is one side of the challenge of threefolding. The other is the development of the inner life of soul which generates love for human beings and the wisdom to promote their spiritual & social wellbeing…Rudolf Steiner left us a legacy. Is it not for us to work as laborers unto harvest?” ~D.N. Dunlop, “Rudolf Steiner and the fulfillment of the Quest.

A call for a 3-fold Commonwealth comes from these 3 corona-comets, blazing in from out of the spiritual world. A sign we are meant to put this initiative into action now. The moral imagination invites the higher consciousness of each individual to cultivate in the Cultural realm a human experience of diversity, of freedom, of choice in education, & religion, a new wisdom. With this foundation of tolerance & love, the Economic realm can develop out of sister & brotherhood – in mutuality, like the unselfish, faithful Swan; the Political realm can then hold an undeniable Equality of Rights, like Atlas. And human beings everywhere can live in peace & prosperity, if we will it.

M. Lewandowski

The threefold Social organism has been born out of the most intimate knowledge of human evolution, out of the knowledge of what must occur if the highest goal of human evolution is not to be renounced” ~Rudolf Steiner.

Friends, thru all the lock-down time, the masks that cover our human countenance, the fear & confusion, – the spiritual world is lining up blessings for us, if we will only tune in!  2020 began with a Lunar Eclipse & a Saturn-Pluto conjunction. It will end with a Jupiter-Saturn conjunction, also known as a Great Conjunction, which will mark the beginning of a new 200-year era – occurring on the same day as the Winter Solstice – the birth of the light, blessed by Jupiter the benevolent King, working with Saturn to reclaim Time.

jupiter – Darinka Maja
Darinka Maja

The 3 corona-comets have added to this cosmic conversation meant to enact change! Are we listening? Are we willing to engage in this “Speaking with the Stars”! Are we open to receiving this ever ‘present help from the spiritual world’, & do our part to actively employ it in our intention to foster healing change!?!

When Jupiter and Saturn meet | Astronomy Essentials | EarthSky

We have to prepare for this Great Conjunction now, by tuning in to these Spiritual Beings & what they are offering. We are called to connect our current events to our cosmic speaking, to recreate our communication, & to awaken to community (come unity). But dear friends, the message of the comets is that we are each individuals, & we must blaze our own way in the world; working to cultivate each of the 3 Social Spheres, using our gifts to heal ourselves & the world

‘Putting Stars in the Soil’

Passing It On: Hugh Courtney's Preparation Making Workshops in 2019 | Biodynamic Association

Today, 88 years ago, on 8 July 1932, Biodynamic champion Hugh Courtney, founder of The Josephine Porter Institute For Applied Bio-Dynamics was born in the Heartland of Chicago, my hometown. He now spiritualizes the Earth from across the Threshold. (15 June 2020)

Hugh Courtney – Earth Legacy Agriculture
~Rand Carter

Abby Porter asked me to write something up after he died. And Rand Carter entreated me to make a tribute today on his birthday.

CANCER ZODIAC SYMBOL / SIGN DECAL / STICKER 02

I wasn’t surprised to know that he was born under the constellation of Cancer, for he certainly had a reputation of being crabby. But under that stubborn shell & those snappy claws was a deeply feeling heart, dedicated to the service of the Earth. If you look at The Beehive Cluster (also known as Praesepe (Latin for “manger”), in the constellation Cancer, you see the vortex – symbol of transformation – the reflection & goal of the prep-stir.

The Whirlpool Galaxy | NASA

Hugh Courtney was in the room where the quality comparison samples were laid out. We were to go in during the breaks at the Fellowship of Preparation Makers Gathering at Michael Fields in February 2020. The theme was ‘BD 501 and 508: Tools to bring the cosmic light into the earth’, & I was asked to bring a ‘Candlemas Festival’ to ignite the weekend.

Zinniker Farm

As a city girl I had only worked with the preps at the Zinniker Farm ( the oldest Biodynamic farm in America) over the years, so I was excited to learn more about them, especially since I am part of the Elderberries Biodynamic Outpost and 3-fold Cultural Hub here in Chicago.

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is Hugh-courtney-logo.png
One of Hugh’s main initiatives

When I came in Hugh didn’t even look up. We both walked around the table taking note of our impressions of the various prep samples. After a while Hugh made a kind of grunt, & I came over to where he was. I made a comment about how that one in particular had the quality of being touched by the Salamanders. He looked up at me for the 1st time, grunted again, staring into my eyes for a bit before he said, ‘O so you see it too’. He asked me what I thought about another sample. I sat with it for a spell & then replied, ‘Well this one is very different; it almost seems like the opposite, very watery. This got me a smile. The ice was broken. We sat down together & Hugh shared with enthusiasm some of his many experiences working with the Elemental beings.

Umbra Perchiazzi

I will never forget this singular encounter with Hugh Courtney. This brief hour of true connection has given me the key to continue our communication. as the fruit of his labor expands on into the spiritual world, & rains down on all of us who are willing to continue his life’s work of spiritualizing the Earth.

Vega in the Summer Triangle

8 July 2020 – “Speaking with the Stars”: Tonight, look eastward during the evening hours -it’s hard to miss the season’s signature star formation, called the Summer Triangle. Vega, Deneb & Altair are the first 3 to light up the eastern half of sky after sunset, & their bright sparkling radiance is even visible from light-polluted cities or on a moonlit night.

Try looking first for the most prominent star in the eastern sky, which is Vega in the constellation Lyra the Harp. Vega is blue-white in color. It’s sometimes called the Harp Star. And many people recognize its constellation, Lyra, as a triangle of stars connected to a parallelogram.

Among the stars by Love Stepunina: History, Analysis & Facts
L. Stepunia

History is a cyclic poem written by time upon the memories of man“. Percy Bysshe Shelley

Rudolf Steiner’s Lectures on this day

ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY

Feast day of Aquila & Priscilla, Companions of the Apostle Paul. When Paul came to Corinth (probably in the year 50), he met them as tentmakers who had just arrived from Rome, because the Emperor Claudius had recently expelled the Jewish community. They all went together to Ephesus. Aquila & Priscilla are mentioned six times in the New Testament (Acts 18:2,18,26; Romans 16:3; 1 Corinthians 16:19; 2 Timothy 4:19), & the reader will note that in the odd-numbered mentions, Aquila’s name comes first, while in the even-numbered mentions, Priscilla’s comes first, as if to emphasize that they are being mentioned on equal terms.

Feast day of Saint Kilian an Irish missionary bishop & the Apostle of Bavaria. He was beheaded with 2 of his companions. Their skulls, inlaid with precious stones, have been preserved to this day. On St Kilian’s day, a glass case containing the three skulls is removed from a crypt, paraded through the streets before large crowds, & put on display in Würzburg Cathedral (dedicated to Kilian).

1099 – Some 15,000 starving Christian soldiers begin the siege of Jerusalem which took place from June 7 to July 15, 1099 during the First Crusade

1579 – Our Lady of Kazan, a holy icon of the Russian Orthodox Church, is discovered underground in the city of Kazan, Tatarstan

1625 – Birthday of Giovanni Domenico Cassini, an Italian mathematician, astronomer, astrologer & engineer. Cassini discovered four satellites of the planet Saturn & noted the division of the rings of Saturn; the Cassini Division was named after him.

1730 – A magnitude 8.7 earthquake causes a tsunami that damages more than 1,000 of Chile’s coastline, death toll unknown

Percy Bysshe Shelley
by Joseph Severn

1822 – Deathday of Percy Bysshe Shelley, one of the major English Romantic poets, one of the most influential. A radical in his poetry as well as in his political & social views, Shelley did not see fame during his lifetime, but recognition for his poetry grew steadily following his death. Shelley was a key member of a close circle of visionary poets & writers that included Lord Byron, Leigh Hunt, Thomas Love Peacock, & his own second wife, Mary Shelley, the author of Frankenstein, including his father-in-law, the philosopher William Godwin.

Shelley’s theories of economics & morality, for example, had a profound influence on Karl Marx; his early—perhaps first—writings on nonviolent resistance influenced both Leo Tolstoy & Mahatma Gandhi. Henry David Thoreau‘s Civil Disobedience was apparently influenced by Shelley’s writings and theories on non-violence in protest and political action.

Shelley became a lodestone to the subsequent three or four generations of poets, including important Victorian & Pre-Raphaelite poets such as Robert Browning and Dante Gabriel Rossetti. He was admired by Oscar Wilde, Thomas Hardy, George Bernard Shaw, Leo Tolstoy, Bertrand Russell, W. B. Yeats, Upton Sinclair & Isadora Duncan. Shelley’s popularity and influence has continued to grow in contemporary poetry circles.

St. Irvyne; or, The Rosicrucian: A Romance is a Gothic horror novella written by Percy Bysshe Shelley in 1810 was published anonymously as “by a Gentleman of the University of Oxford” while the Shelley was an undergraduate. The main character is Wolfstein, a solitary wanderer, who encounters Ginotti, an alchemist of the Rosicrucian or Rose Cross Order who seeks to impart the secret of immortality.

1831 – Birthday of John Pemberton, chemist & pharmacist, invented Coca-Cola

1838 – Birthday of Eli Lilly, chemist, & businessman, founded Eli Lilly a global pharmaceutical company

Shavuot Stir

Last night with the Quarter Moon lighting our way, folks gathered for a Merry Prep-Stir. It was the start of the Jewish festival Shavuot, & all were in a celebratory mood of gratitude & reverence. I began with a few antidotes & a dedication, & then everyone stepped forward one by one to add a pinch of BD 500 to the stirring bucket – uniting individual prayers with the collective intention of spiritualizing & healing all life. And then the stirring began! And we sang “Spirit to matter, matter to spirit…” Such joy as the vortex was spun & the thrill of the chaos was welcomed in the leminscate between rhythm & commotion.

As the stars came out, Bella Luna rose higher in the southwest, below the belly of Leo’s stick-figure lion pattern, forming a nearly equilateral triangle with Leo’s Regulus & Gamma Leonis (Algieba). We saw Mercury, & Capella, but Venus was already low in the West behind the tree line, on her way to the underworld for a time before she rises again as the evening star…

The young folks played music, cello, guitars, bass, hand drums & shakers, singing galore! – Adding the power of sound vibration to the forces entering the stir. The garden was lush from lots of rain & the bonfire was blazing, warming & highlighting the power of all the elementals.

As the evening wore on I spoke about Shavuot, called by various names: Feast of Weeks, Feast of The First Fruits & Feast of the Giving of the Law.

It celebrates the spring harvest. In olden times as each fruit ripend, the first of each type would not be eaten, but instead the farmer would tie a ribbon around the branch. This ribbon signified that these fruits were Bikkurim, or the first fruits.

At Shavuot the farmers would gather the Bikkurim into baskets & bring them to the city where they would be shared with the wider community. This joyful occasion was celebrated with the music of fifes, timbres, & drums.

To commemorate, for the 3 nights during Shavuot, folks light candles, decorate with greenery, eat dairy food, study Torah, attend prayer services, & read the Book of Ruth. (I will tell this amazing story of Ruth & Naomi tomorrow as part of my Whitsun festival)

Along with being a Harvest holiday & celebrating the spiritual journey of Ruth, Shavuot celebrates the Revelation of Torah.

Many of the traditions & customs of Shavuot have evolved from the legends & stories describing the experiences of Moses at Mount Sinai. According to tradition the people actually overslept on the morning when Moses returned from the mountain. To compensate for this, folks hold an all-night vigil on the eve of Shavuot. They stay awake from dusk to dawn, singing to the spirits of nature.

It was getting late, so we took a break from the music & everyone grabbed a jar of the potentized prep & aspurged the neighborhood. Our friend next door, who was having his 1st experience as a Merry Prep-stir, told all that he could tell that his garden was changed thru our previous sprayings. What a delight to see our Merry band fliting about on the city streets with our buckets & jars spreading droplets of magic on the lawns, gardens & parkways.

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is Merry-Prep-29-may-2020-Linda.jpg

The young folks made good on the all-night vigil. And this morning there is a perceivable presence in the air surrounding our property. The bees are happy, the bird song responding with thanks & praise.

~Vitae Sophia~ A Whitsun Festival of United Soul Endeavor with Hazel Archer-Ginsberg

Online Whitsunday, 31 May 2020 from 10 am–11:15 am EDT Zoom Call*

Through leading thoughts and conversation we are called to redeem the ether spheres to create an Ecclesia, a chalice for The Sophia. Then the spirit flame can spread out to become what Steiner called a “World Whitsun”, which began in earnest at the Christmas Conference. The Whitsun Festival highlights one of the greatest challenges of being human: placing our individual gifts, in right relationship within the social realm. This challenge is especially strong now during this ‘pandemic’. Our groups striving to know Spiritual Science must work together as a community, to have the possibility to create a new culture where a sacrament is possible in every encounter. Our individual strength is enhanced by weaving our gifts together, kindling our social world in conscious community.

Rudolf Steiner’s Lectures on this day

ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY

I turn to history not for lessons but to confront my experience with the experience of others and to win for myself a sense of responsibility for the state of the human conscience. ~ Zbigniew Herbert  (Poet) 1924 – 1998

1431 – Deathday of Joan of Arc, French martyr & saint, burnt at the stake by the British under Duke of Bedford.

Burned at the stake as a heretic after a politically-motivated trial, Joan was beatified in 1909 and canonized in 1920. Born of a fairly well-to-do peasant couple in Domremy-Greux (southeast of Paris), Joan was only 12 when she experienced a vision and heard voices that she later identified as St. Michael the Archangel, Catherine of Alexandria, and Margaret of Antioch. During the Hundred Years War, she led French troops against the English and recaptured the cities of Orléans and Troyes. This enabled Charles VII to be crowned as king in Reims in 1429. Captured near Compiegne the following year, she was sold to the English and placed on trial for heresy and witchcraft. Professors at the University of Paris supported Bishop Pierre Cauchon of Beauvis, the judge at her trial; Cardinal Henry Beaufort of Winchester, England, participated in the questioning of Joan in prison. In the end, she was condemned for wearing men’s clothes. The English resented France’s military success–to which Joan contributed.
On this day in 1431, she was burned at the stake in Rouen, and her ashes were scattered in the Seine River. A second Church trial 25 years later nullified the earlier verdict, which was reached under political pressure. Remembered by most people for her military exploits, Joan had a great love for the sacraments, which strengthened her compassion toward the poor. Popular devotion to her increased greatly in 19th-century France and later among French soldiers during World War I. Theologian George Tavard writes that her life “offers a perfect example of the conjunction of contemplation and action” because her spiritual insight is that there should be a “unity of heaven and earth.” Joan of Arc has been the subject of many books, plays, operas, and movies. “Joan of Arc is like a shooting star across the landscape of French and English history, amid the stories of the Church’s saints and into our consciousness. Women identify with her; men admire her courage. She challenges us in fundamental ways. Despite the fact that more than 500 years have passed since she lived, her issues of mysticism, calling, identity, trust and betrayal, conflict and focus are our issues still.” (Joan of Arc: God’s Warrior, by Barbara Beckwith)

1593 – Deathday of Christopher Marlowe, English poet & playwright

Paul-Delaroche

1672 – Birthday of Peter the Great Czar of Russia.  He led a cultural revolution that replaced some of the traditionalist & medieval political systems with ones that were modern, scientific, based on The Enlightenment.

1778 – Deathday of Voltaire, French philosopher & author. Rudolf Steiner speaks of him as being a former pupil of the mysteries in Karmic Relationships Vol. 2.

1935 – Deathday of Daniel Nicol Dunlop , a Scottish entrepreneur, founder of the World Power Conference & other associations, a theosophist-turned-anthroposophist. Thought to have been a Templar in a former life. Dunlop saw Rudolf Steiner for the first time when he was still General Secretary of the German Section of the Theosophical Society, both of them expressed their intimate spiritual connection &respect for one another.  Dunlop started the anthroposophical “Human Freedom Group & anthroposophical Summer Schools. In 1928 he organized the first & only World Conference on Anthroposophy & in 1929 he was elected General Secretary of the Anthroposophical Society in Great Britain. He had a deep friendship with Eleanor Merry, who supported his work, especially after the death of his own wife, Eleanor in 1932. As a result of conflicts & power struggles within the General Anthroposophical Society, leading to its splintering in April 1935, Dunlop was expelled together with a number of other leading members. He died shortly afterwards of an appendicitis. Dunlop enlisted the help of fellow anthroposophist Walter Johannes Stein in the hope of founding a World Economic Organization, but his death prevented this.

1936 – Ludwig Polzer-Hoditz resigns from the General Anthroposophical Society on the 1 year anniversary of his friend D.N. Dunlop’s death, in protest after many of his contemporizes were expelled from the Society.

Friday 19 June 2020 – Front Range Anthroposophical Café presents:

The New Mysteries of St. Johns-Tide with Hazel Archer-Ginsberg

To pass the test of Summer we will explore many questions:

  • How do we stand wakefully within the sublime mysteries of the Summer-Tide, to consciously embody ‘the spiritual wisdom of the gods’?
  • Who is the mysterious Archangel of Summer?
  • Who is John the Baptist? What do his sayings “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” And “He must increase, but I must decrease.” really mean?
  • What is the secret to healing the ‘soul-fever’ so prevalent in society today?
  • What is the mystery of the Dragon-fly, & other elemental beings?
  • How can we understand the ‘Cycle of the Year as Breathing Process of the Earth’?

Together we will work to strengthen our true “I”, enlivening our will forces.

We look forward to seeing you on Friday 19 June 2020 shortly before 7 PM (Mountain time.) Here is the link to our Anthroposophical Café and all you need to do to join us is click on it: https://zoom.us/j/294724669.

Love’s Sacrifice

Greetings dear friends on this Good Friday 2020 –

B. Hannel

Do you remember in 2003-04 when we had that powerful tetrad of solar & lunar eclipses that came during the Easter & Michaelmas seasons? I was prompted at that time to research the Spiritual Significance of Eclipses & the inner layers of the earth. I presented a program called: ‘The Interior of the Earth as Christian / Rosicrucian Initiation’, giving the beatitudes as the antidote to the sub-nature of these realms.

Nicholas Roerich

With all that is happening at this Easter-Tide I was thinking of delving back into that ‘Harrowing of Hell’ with the hopes of bringing healing into the spiritual causes of the pandemic, making it the theme for this year’s Easter Festival.

Red Virus Cells Over Earth And Its Blurry Hologram. Concept Of ...

But of course since we cannot gather I reached out to my dear friend Laura Scappaticci, program director of the ASA to see what could be done online. She suggested I use the Central Regional Councils Zoom connection. When I spoke with my colleges there was a great enthusiasm to offer something. We brainstormed together & “The Three days” was born. I love how working with others can bring fresh impulses.

Xennie Donge

As is often the case, when sitting down to ‘write’ something, the spiritual world guides my pen. And so it was that the present offerings came forth, very different then my original idea.

I offer up The Good Friday ‘script’ for your contemplation, with the hopes that you will join us online for the next ‘Three Days’.

“The Three Days” Good Friday 10 April 2020 by Hazel Archer Ginsberg

‘When from the depths of soul
The Spirit turns to the life of worlds
And beauty wells from wide expanses,
Then out of heaven’s distances
Streams life-strength into human bodies,
Uniting by its mighty energy
The spirit’s being with our human life.
~Rudolf Steiner

(Overview introduction to Open the Gathering)

In the New Mysteries we follow the path of the Christian initiation thru the Holy Week before Easter – With every step, from the recognition of the old Sun on Palm Sunday, thru the Death that brings New Life, to the meeting of the Saturn-Spirit and The Harrowing of Hell, which sparks the rising of the New Sun of Easter, we are led deeper into an inner initiation.  Each of these steps, seen through the lens of the planetary spheres, leads to a conquest of a corresponding layer in the interior of the earth.

We rest on Good Friday, the stillness of Sabbath, ‘In Christo morimur’ – This is the Mystic-death or temple sleep of the initiate. The Tomb becomes the altar, a sacred place to commune with the gods – with the souls of the departed as our intermediaries.

In the garden, at the center of the earth, between the rocky hill of Golgotha, part of the lunar Mount Moriah, and its polar opposite the Solar Mount Zion – the center of the cosmos – there is a new tomb where the body of Christ rests, and yet it is the oldest tomb, for it was formerly a primal fissure, a gorge splitting Jerusalem in two, called by some Adam’s grave – Known as the gate to the underworld.

The earthquakes tear open the original fissure.  The veil of the Temple is “rent in twain”. Vistas are opened into the interior of the world. He is “lowered into the grave of the earth,” and so it is, that The Christ went into the Earth’s Interior, becoming the seed for our continued evolution.

Even there the darkness of Saturn is warmed and lit up from within by the Cosmic Sun. The Easter garden begins to bloom, for those who have lost their divine nature in the dungeons of Hell. Releasing the light so that our soul can behold, like the Magdalene before us, The Risen One as the gardener of the New Jerusalem.

The spirit radiates from the heights and yet is also carried to us by the eternal divine world of the depths. ‘Let from the depths be entreated, What in the heights will be heard’.  We can send our prayer to the Christ-heart in the earth’s depths, to help overcome and redeem the adversarial powers that hold sway in the 9 layers of the earth’s interior. The agricultural course is a stepping stone to this ultimate aim.

Spiritual science tells us that when the blood flowed into the earth from the cross on Golgotha, a new Sun-globe was born in the interior of the earth. This golden earth-center is the legendary land of Shambhala, hidden away, yet waiting to be re-discovered by the seeking, Christ-guided human soul.

Before the mystery of Golgotha, the task of evolution was that the cosmos would become human. After this ‘Turning Point’, the human becomes cosmos -The New Sun -The imperishable resurrection-body uniting with the Cosmic- Sophia.

The tomb becomes the Round table, and the Parsifal question leads us to find Christ in the etheric.

Also working with us from the time of the Vernal Equinox is the Archangel Raphael, who holds the staff of Mercury, offering us the healing power of the Caduceus through the grace of the living Christ, who stands as the middle pillar within us all.

May we take up this healing, that ‘Good May Become’ for human & cosmic evolution.

On the urn that holds the ashes of Rudolf Steiner, we read: “To create centres of peace & love in which the Christ can resurrect.”

Love’s Sacrifice: The Good Friday Contemplation by ~hag

And so it was that there was a great convocation in the spiritual world after humanity fell to the temptation of eating an unripen fruit. The Father Ground of the World shook His head:

“Babies are always putting things in their mouths. And yet this will surly alter my Divine plan. This premature action sows the seeds of death. We must send an emissary to reset this shift & bring balance to the blueprint once again”.

The mighty choirs of angels were ready to serve, but really, they couldn’t go, as they had their work to do to keep the harmony of the spheres.

The Holy Spirit volunteered, but it was thought She should wait until they were ready for Her Wisdom. So Love stepped forward.

“Father I will be the emissary. I will go in your name, and by dying I will conquer death. I will sow a new garden that the earth shall become a Sun. And I will bring the mystery of death back as a gift to our eternal world.  I will say “Who so ever believes in me, believes in the Father who sent me. I will come into the world as light, so that who so ever believes in me may not remain in darkness”.

And so it was that Love made the journey from the eternal, through the zodiac & down into every planet, making a special home in the Sun.

The Holy Spiritsent Wisdom, Her own avatar tolight the way. Awakening some wise initiates who began preparing for Love to come, hoping it would be soon, for the earth was rapidly dying. When the stars were right, Love became human, which took about 30 years. And  as with all Love’s actions on earth, when the cosmic alignment was in harmony, the earthly being received the Cosmic Being from the Sun, at the Baptism by John, and began the mission. Showing how Love could live on earth.

And when Love had taken 33 and a third turns around the Sun, the “Three Days” came that he should enact the trial to conquer death.

In the Garden of Gethsemane the fight against the power of death enters a decisive phase. Here in the quiet grove of the Mount of Olives, where Love has so often been with His disciples for intimate training, The Son of God must now withstand the most dangerous attack of the enemy in utmost loneliness.

Death, already apprehensive of losing control over Him, appears, in order to lay hold of Him. The Destroying Angel wants to possess Him.

The secret of the conflict in Gethsemane lies in the fact that death wants to outwit Love. It wants to wrest Him away too soon, before He has ended His work and filled the last vestige of His earthly vessel with His Spirit.

The Cosmic part of Love’s Being wrestles to enter still more deeply into the earthly world of matter through the physical body. There is still a last remnant to be ensouled. The very bones.

For three years, the Fire of divine Ego-hood has burned in the body and soul of Love. For this reason the human vessel – from within outwards – has already almost been consumed to ashes.

What still has to be suffered and completed demands so much strength from the earthly sheaths that there is a real danger of premature death. Death lies in wait and hopes to make use of this moment.

But Love is victorious and death is repulsed.

It is not the will of Love to pass into the spiritual world simply through dying. It is the will of Love to remain united with the Earth, so that when the sacrifice is made, Love can conquer over death.

Through the medicine of bitter pain, the inmost Being of Love has gained the ultimate power of spirit over matter, so that Death can no longer hold sway.

The death-powers realize this, and appear for their last effort, furious that their might has been of no avail. When the sun is darkened during the sultry midday hours of Good Friday, it is as though the demon of the sun were straining to the utmost against the God of the Sun.

And when the earth is shaken by the earthquake, all the demons of the earth seem to storm forward and endeavor to help the death-power to victory.

Scorn of Love disturbs the earthly elements and even shakes the heavens. However, death can strip nothing from the sovereignty of Love.

And from the Cross a mysterious brilliance breaks through the dreadful noonday light. The Son of God reveals itself at the same time as the physical sun suffered eclipse. A ray of Easter is already weaving itself into the darkness of Good Friday.

In the willing sacrifice, Love goes directly into the Earth. The body, like a seed, is planted; and the Earth opens in an earthquake that takes into itself the body of Love.  Death becomes life, for the whole of earth-existence. A cosmic and earthly Communion.

The medicine for the spiritualizing of all material existence is incorporated into Earth existence – “the medicine that makes whole”.
