In art we find the doorway to the eternal. It is a bridge which connects us with spiritual processes. It opens the way so we can step back from sense-bound life, bringing us closer to the core of being – who we are before birth & after death.

Rudolf Steiner talks about how the spiritual realm can be felt, especially around the shoulders & head. How from there, it sends out its blessing out in the forces of speech & thought. The art of the creative speech is destined to open this realm in a new way. Around the head weave the thoughts that in primordial beginnings were one with the Logos, & to which we turn thru the words:

Gospel of John « The Painted Prayerbook The Painted Prayerbook
Jan Richardson

In the beginning is the thought, and the thought is with God, And a Godly Being is the thought. In it is life, and life shall become the light of my ‘I’. And may the divine thought shine into my ‘I’, so that the darkness of my ’I’ may take hold of the divine thought.” ~Rudolf Steiner, The Pre-Earthly Deeds of Christ.

The more we speak & move words like these, artistically, with vivid, sensing feeling, & the more lovingly we are able to dedicate ourselves to them, the more lively & lasting will they live within us. A gesture embodying a loving mood unfolds & expands the human soul.

In language & speaking we have before us – audibly – an archetype, a vibrational image of the human being. We can implement the idea of becoming healthy thru speech, by changing our speaking habits. Artistic practice of individual sounds brings to bare the wholeness of the cosmos within us.

What is Etheric or Spiritual Energy? | TIME IS ART
Kevin Larken

We become ill when our inner life-stream has come into disorder. Rudolf Steiner describes the struggle that takes place in the ether body “…between the progressive spirits & the ahrimanic beings…our ether body becomes pervaded by spiritual darkness….In the ether body is our store of memories, mirrored thoughts that we have in memories, thoughts mirrored by time. But deep down in our ether body, behind memory, the good, divine-spiritual beings are at work, opposing Ahriman.” ~The Inner nature of Man.

An artistic practice of speech strives to reach the profound forces of the life-body in order to ignite anew the supporting, maintaining, healthy life forces within us. We can work consciously with these helpful spiritual beings to bring ourselves back into health.

7 July 2020 – “Speaking with the Stars”: Comet NEOWISE is currently in the constellation of Auriga. Until July 12, NEOWISE is best seen approximately 90 minutes before sunrise. Look in the Northeast direction, about 10 degrees above the Horizon. The comet will rise higher as the morning progresses but the sky will get brighter as well. After July 12, it will be visible after sunset, in the Northwest direction. It will climb higher each day; by July 25, the comet will appear 30 degrees above the horizon at sunset. Its brightness will decrease during this period, even though it will be closest to earth on July 23.

World Chocolate Day’ – today marks 500 years since chocolate was introduced to Europe

1207 – Feast Day of Saint Elizabeth a princess of the Kingdom of Hungary, Landgravine of Thuringia  – the town of St. Germain of the the Rakoczy family. She was an early member of the Third Order of St. Francis, & is honored as its patroness. Elizabeth is perhaps best known for her miracle of the roses which says that while out taking bread to the poor in secret, she ran into her husband Ludwig on a hunting party, who, in order to quell suspicions of the gentry that she was stealing treasure from the castle, asked her to reveal what was hidden under her cloak. In that moment, her cloak fell open & a vision of white & red roses could be seen, which proved to Ludwig that God’s protecting hand was at work.

Rudolf Steiner speaks about this in ‘Christianity in the Evolution of Mankind – Leading Individualities and Avatar-Beings’ GA 109, Berlin February 15, 1909. “St. Frances of Assisi, was one of those who had a copy of the astral body of Jesus of Nazareth inwoven. Because of this he was able to accomplish just what he did accomplish, and many of his adherents from the Order of Franciscans, had similarly such copies interwoven with their astral bodies.

All that was in Francis of Assisi was wholly sentient soul of Jesus of Nazareth, so to speak. Wholly sentient soul of Jesus of Nazareth was contained in that remarkable personality whom you will follow biographically with the soul when you know the secret of her life: Elizabeth of Thüringen, born in 1207. Here we have a personality who had a copy of the astral body of Jesus of Nazareth woven into the sentient soul. The riddle of the human being is solved for us by means of just such knowledge.

1834 – In New York City, four nights of rioting against abolitionists began.

In the Americas & Western Europe, abolitionism was a movement to end the Atlantic slave trade & set slaves free. In the 17th century, English Quakers and evangelical Protestants condemned slavery as un-Christian. By that time, most slaves were Africans, but thousands of Native Americans remained enslaved.

In the 18th century, as many as six million Africans were taken to the Americas as slaves. At least a third of the newly enslaved Africans were carried on British ships.

Walter Johannes Stein – Wikipédia

1957 – Deathday of Walter Johannes Stein – a major figure in the early anthroposophical movement. A close pupil of Rudolf Steiner’s, he also wrote an important books of original historical research: ‘The Ninth Century and the Holy Grail’,  & ‘The Death of Merlin, Arthurian Myth and Alchemy’. Stein was born & grew up in Vienna, & his mother was an anthroposophist. At age 21 he found Steiner’s book “Occult Science” on his mother’s desk & started reading it. He was immediately fascinated by the contents & wanted to know more about the anthroposophical movement. Towards this goal he attended a conference where he met Rudolf Steiner, & later had a private audience. Stein was occupied with the questions of the nature of consciousness & of epistemology in his university studies, & from Rudolf Steiner he received indications for how to proceed in his research. His studies were interrupted by the First World War, in which he fought for Austria on the eastern front. He experienced the full horrors of the modern battlefield & survived. Shortly after the end of the war he completed his Ph.D. in philosophy & was called to teach history at the first Waldorf School in Stuttgart where he established the high school history curriculum under Rudolf Steiner’s guidance.

Steiner’s death in 1925 was difficult for everyone connected to Anthroposophy, & in 1928 Stein ceased teaching at the Stuttgart Waldorf School due to disagreements with other Anthroposophists about his lecturing activities.

As the Nazi party rose to power in Germany, Stein, who had a Jewish background, moved to London in 1933. He would remain in England until the end of his life in 1951, though he continued to travel widely, lecturing on Anthroposophy.

Among some interesting high points of his life was his collaboration with Belgium’s King Leopold on a plan to avert the Second World War through the implementation of the Threefold Social Order.

Another time, when traveling in Turkey, Stein arranged an audience with Kamel Ataturk where he lectured the founder of modern Turkey on the anthroposophical worldview.

Stein also experienced his past life as a result of his dedication to meditative exercises.

An excerpt from: Buddha and the Mission of INDIA, by Dr. W. J. Stein

In the legend of Buddha it is said that when the Bodhisattva descended to his last birth, he had received from Gods and man all the gifts which predestined him to become a king over the whole world.  But the greatness and deep significance of this Bodhisattva-—who in his twenty-ninth year ascended to the level of Buddha—was that although he possessed the power fitting him for world-rulership, he transformed it.  The more deeply we study the mission of India in the evolution of mankind as a whole, the more clearly do we realize that the task of India is to transform the impulse of war and conquest into a healing love, into the impulse of compassion, love and sacrifice.  The secret of India is that it is part of her mission to awaken men to this ideal.

Rudolf Steiner has described the evolution of man in the post-glacial age by indicating how the first epoch of civilization in India has its rise, and he called our attention to the fact that the seven cities ‘which are in Asia,’ to which the Letters in the Apocalypse are addressed, represent the seven epochs of civilization.  Thus the first letter to the Church at Ephesus must be thought of as referring to the Indian epoch of civilization.  If we apply this conception to Indian history, we can say that in the spiritual sense India is an Ephesus and that the mission of this spiritual Ephesus is to transform the impulse of conquest and of power into that of healing love.

The attitude of soul that is characteristic of Buddhism is ‘christianized’ in a most wonderful way in Francis of Assisi.  Rudolf Steiner indicated this in his lectures entitled Anthroposophical Ethics. In the early part of his life Francis of Assisi was bold and prodigal, full of warlike impulses.  As the outcome of a great and impressive vision he transmuted these qualities of his being and became a healer.  Rudolf Steiner also told us that leprosy—a disease so widespread in Europe during the Middle Ages—is to be traced to the chronic state of fear aroused in the peoples by the Mongolian invasions.  And it was precisely Francis of Assisi who brought forces of healing into these conditions.  We see forces working in him which are the direct opposite of the forces of Mars.  Francis of Assisi bore within him the healing forces of love which we may call the Mercury-forces.

Bees have a special place in human history. The mythology, art & mystery that surrounds them is potent, & indicates a close & reciprocal relationship between the bee, the secrets of the Universe, & humanity, as partners in life’s great journey.

In many cultures priestesses or ‘illumined ones’ have been referred to as ‘Bees’. The bee was an emblem of Potnia, the Minoan-Mycenaean “Mistress”, also referred to as “The Pure Mother Bee”. Her priestesses received the name of “Melissa” which means bee.

Those worshipping Artemis & Demeter, as well as the Delphic priestess, are also referred to as a “bee”. Pindar, an Ancient Greek poet from Thebes, notes that she remained “the Delphic bee” long after Apollo had usurped the ancient oracle & shrine. “The Delphic priestess chewed a laurel leaf, & sought her inspiration in the honeycomb”.

From the earliest times of our agrarian history the relationship between farmers & the bees that pollinate & confirm their crops has been one of reciprocal respect. The bee is the agent of pollination, the catalyst that brings about change & the connection that facilitates fertilization, allowing the crop to mature, develop & reproduce. It is easy to see why their function is considered so important & why the bee is ascribed a mystical place within the human experience.

Perhaps no month better epitomizes summer in the Northern Hemisphere than July. The Summer Triangle is on prominent display. The trio’s brightest member, Vega in the constellation Lyra the Harp, stands nearly overhead shortly after midnight. The asterism’s second-brightest star, Altair in Aquila the Eagle, then lies more than halfway from the southeastern horizon to the zenith. Deneb, the luminary of Cygnus the Swan, marks the Summer Triangle’s third corner. Although it is the dimmest star, it’s the brightest point of light in the northeastern sky.

ICONOGRAPHIE CHRÉTIENNE

1778 – Deathday of Procopius of Caesarea the last major historian of the ancient Western world. He Accompanied the Roman general Belisarius in the wars of the Emperor Justinian, writing the Wars (or Histories), the Buildings of Justinian & the celebrated (& infamous) Secret History discovered centuries later in the Vatican Library. The Secret History reveals his deep disillusion with the emperor Justinian & his wife, Empress Theodora, as well as Belisarius, his former commander & patron, & Antonina, Belisarius’ wife. The anecdotes expose the secret springs of their public actions, as well as their private lives. Justinian is portrayed as cruel, venal, prodigal & incompetent; as for Theodora, the reader is treated to the most detailed & titillating portrayals of vulgarity & insatiable lust combined with shrewish & calculating mean-spiritedness: “Often, even in the theatre, in the sight of all the people, she removed her costume and stood nude in their midst, except for a girdle about the groin: not that she was abashed at revealing that, too, to the audience, but because there was a law against appearing altogether naked on the stage, without at least this much of a fig-leaf. Covered thus with a ribbon, she would sink down to the stage floor and recline on her back. Slaves to whom the duty was entrusted would then scatter grains of barley from above into the calyx of this passion flower, whence geese, trained for the purpose, would next pick the grains one by one with their bills and eat.”

The Secret History by Procopius

Her husband Justinian, meanwhile, was a monster whose head could suddenly vanish—at least according to this passage: “And some of those who have been with Justinian at the palace late at night, men who were pure of spirit, have thought they saw a strange demoniac form taking his place. One man said that the Emperor suddenly rose from his throne and walked about, and indeed he was never wont to remain sitting for long, and immediately Justinian’s head vanished, while the rest of his body seemed to ebb and flow; whereat the beholder stood aghast and fearful, wondering if his eyes were deceiving him. But presently he perceived the vanished head filling out and joining the body again as strangely as it had left it.”

World War II in Pictures: Night of the Long Knives

1934 – The Night of the Long Knives, sometimes called Operation Hummingbird, or in Germany, sometimes mockingly called Reichsmordwoche (Reich Murder Week), a purge that took place in Nazi Germany from June 30 to July 2, 1934, when the Nazi regime carried out a series of political executions. Leading members of the left-wing Strasserist faction of the Nazi Party (NSDAP), along with its figurehead, Gregor Strasser, were killed, as were prominent conservative anti-Nazis (such as former Chancellor Kurt von Schleicher & Gustav Ritter von Kahr, who had suppressed Adolf Hitler’s Beer Hall Putsch in 1923). Many of those killed were leaders of the Sturmabteilung (SA) – the paramilitary Brownshirts.

Hitler moved against the SA & its leader, Ernst Röhm because he saw the independence of the SA as a direct threat to his newly gained political power. Hitler was uncomfortable with Röhm’s outspoken support for a “second revolution” to redistribute wealth.

At least 85 people died during the purge, although the final death toll may have been in the hundreds, & more than a thousand perceived opponents were arrested. Most of the killings were carried out by the Schutzstaffel (SS) & the Gestapo (Geheime Staatspolizei), the regime’s secret police. The purge provided a legal grounding for the Nazi regime, as the German courts & cabinet quickly swept aside centuries of legal prohibition against extra-judicial killings to demonstrate their loyalty to the regime. The Night of the Long Knives was a turning point for the German government. It established Hitler as “the supreme judge of the German people,” as he put it in his July 13, 1934 speech to the Reichstag. “The New York Times”stated that Hitler had acted to crush a revolt & that SA leader Ernst Röhm had committed suicide.

People today have a tremendous hunger for pictures. This hunger is a symptom of the fact that man, through the destiny of our time, is being urged towards the sphere of imaginative perception. We satisfy this hunger creatively if we let eye and heart dwell in active contemplation on works of art which have themselves arisen out of some measure of imaginative perception, and which can thus help to prepare the soul for this same inner sight. So ‘looking at pictures’ can help to meet a deep need peculiar to the present day. ~Emil Bock, The Apocalypse of St. John

It was deemed so successful that the conference was established as a recurring event. In the beginning, the World Power Conference convened on a regular schedule every six years.

D.N. Dunlop was a pioneer of modern community building—in two areas in particular: industry & economics, & the sphere of the free spiritual life. In 1924 he founded the World Power Conference, opened by the Prince of Wales in London that year. This was the first international conference to invite engineers & industrialists from all over the world (including Germany & Russia, two former World War adversaries), with the purpose of establishing a basis for co-operation & co-ordination in the production & technological use of energy resources within a modern world economy.

WorldEnergyCouncil Logo.jpg

In 1929 a worldwide assessment of raw materials & energy resources was published in book-form with the title Power Resources of the World. The WPC gave birth to a permanent institution—the World Energy Council—that has its headquarters in London & has since held regular congresses in different capital cities throughout the world. The website of this private international organization records a short history of the institution which focuses on the profiles of five leading figures, beginning with Dunlop: ‘Shortly after World War I, Scotsman Daniel Dunlop, a visionary working in the British electricity industry, decided to bring together leading energy experts for a World Power Conference to discuss current and emerging energy issues. In 1923, he began working with countries around the globe to establish national committees that would stimulate attendance and prepare for technical participation at such a conference. The First World Power Conference was held the next year, 1924, in London and attracted 1,700 delegates from 40 countries. The meeting was so successful that those attending decided to establish a permanent organisation to continue the dialogue begun at the conference.

Nature Spirits and the Spirits of the Elements by D.N. Dunlop

Within the spiritual-cultural sphere, Dunlop was a pioneer of the ‘summer school’—an idea which he actively pursued and brought to practical realization during his theosophical phase. Dunlop maintained that the ‘summer school’ was not in conflict with pure individual striving, but could potentize it— offer it fulfillment. For true individualism, if developed far enough, is exactly what socially conscious communities need if they are to progress.

The Present Age - Perseus Verlag

To a large extent these summer schools were gatherings of ‘communities of free spirits’. Following his encounter with Rudolf Steiner in 1922, Dunlop organized the great summer schools of Penmaenmawr &Torquay. According to Rudolf Steiner, these were ‘recorded in the Golden Book of the Anthroposophical Movement’. Steiner himself characterized Dunlop as a ‘far-seeing’ anthroposophist with visionary goals, endowed with clear and delicate perception, and remarkable human sensitivity & tact’. Despite Steiner’s very high public regard for him—Dunlop chose to remain in the background of events.

Daniel Nicol Dunlop met Rudolf Steiner in person in 1922. It was the Dutch manager Joseph van Leer who brought them together. They sat at the table together – Rudolf Steiner who spoke no English & Daniel N. Dunlop who spoke no German. Joseph van Leer stepped in as translator but what he didn’t see was that Rudolf Steiner took the hand of Daniel Dunlop & held it, under the table, during the whole of the conversation. In 1934, during one of his famous summer schools, Dunlop shared the memory of this with his friend Walter Johannes Stein. He made an even more interesting statement, that Rudolf Steiner on this occasion said to him, ‘We are brothers.’

Download Erinnerungen an Rudolf Steiner und D. N. Dunlop (Europäer-Schriften) PDF - JakeMarlowe

Eleanor Merry, also an active member of the early British Anthroposophical Society, worked intensively with Dunlop for the last 14 years of his life during which time he told her that Rudolf Steiner gave him an insight into a former life of his where he, Dunlop, had been a member of the innermost circle of the Order of the Knights Templarconnected to all the ancient mysteries’ and had also worked within a secret society among the Templars’. Dunlop’s most deeply rooted intention was to serve the supra-personal goals of humanity, thereby sacrificing all personal & trivial motives & deeds.

The Karma Project – Manifestations of Karma Study Group
July 1, 2020 – 7:15 pm Central
 (8:15 pm Eastern)

“Thus we see that there is a certain relationship between karma and the animal kingdom, although we must not confuse matters by likening what the animal experiences as its fate with human karma. But if we consider the whole earth development, and what had to come about for the sake of humanity and its evolution, we will see that we can indeed speak of a relationship between the karma of humanity and the animal kingdom.”
~Rudolf Steiner, Manifestations of Karma, Chapter 2, “Karma and the Animal Kingdom”, Hamburg, 17 May, 1910 … focus of the July 1 meeting.

The lecture can be found online at the RS Archive (eLib) by clicking this link: https://wn.rsarchive.org/Lectures/…/Hamburg/19100517p01.html

The Central Regional Council of the Anthroposophical Society in America invites you to join our ongoing study conversation. The study has been divided among five volunteers who will summarize their section to rebuild it as a foundation for our conversation. Please familiarize yourself with the lecture if possible so you will feel comfortable sharing your reflections and thoughts with the group.

This collection of lectures has been republished by Rudolf Steiner Press under the title: “Manifestations of Karma.” This book is a translation from German of Die Offenbarung des Karma (Ga 120), published in English by Rudolf Steiner Press in 1996.

This will be a “Zoom” conference call allowing us an opportunity to see one another while conversing (or audio only if you prefer). To connect to the audio/video-conference:

Standing upon cosmic Will

Jennifer Thomson

In the sense world we see the being of Nature sprouting, budding —from the powers of sleep the forces of vegetative growth, are given form. But in this sleeping Nature, the spiritual which animates & weaves thru everything in Nature is revealed. May we be awake to this spirit. As human beings we must not become blinded by the light, that we fall into a trance, drifting off into the rising warmth.

In summer humanity is bound up with Nature, but, if we have right feeling & perception for it, objective spirituality comes towards us from out of Nature’s interweaving life. And so, to find the essential human being during the St. John’s time, we must turn to the objective spirituality in the outer world, & this is present everywhere in Nature.

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is Uriel-holding-a-mirror-Ayse-Domeniconi.jpg
Ayse Domeniconi

If we follow Nature in high summer with deepened spiritual insight & with perceptive eyes, we discover the Archangel of Summer Uriel, who directs our gaze into the depths of the Earth itself. We find that the minerals down there send their inner crystal-forming process towards us more vividly than at any other time of the year; shaping itself into lines, angles & surfaces. “If we are to have an impression of it as a whole, we must picture this crystallizing process as an interweaving activity, colored throughout with deep blue”.*

We can feel that as a human form we have grown out of the blue depths of the earth’s crust; permeated with force by the silver-gleaming crystal lines.

Using our imaginative thinking, we can ask: “How is it that these silver-sparkling crystal lines & waves are working within me? What is it that lives & works there, silver-gleaming in the blue of the Earth? — then one knows: That is cosmic Will. And one has the feeling of standing upon cosmic Will”.*

Feast Day of Martha, named in the Gospels of St. Luke & St. John, as the sister of Lazarus, the rich friend of Jesus who the Lord resurrected. She was also the sister of Mary Magdalene. They lived in Bethany. The Gospels speak of Martha as a dutiful housekeeper, serving the Lord hospitably when He visited: “but Martha was busy about much serving…” (Luke 10:40)

FAMOUS PAINTINGS OF MARTHA, MARY AND LAZARUS OF BETHANY

Complaining that her sister Mary was listening to Him instead of helping, Our Lord sweetly rebuked: “Martha, Martha, thou art careful, and art troubled about many things: But one thing is necessary. Mary hath chosen the best part, which shall not be taken away from her” (Luke 10:41-42)

When her brother, Lazarus, fell ill, she sent for the Lord; when He arrived, Lazarus had been four days in the tomb. She cried to Jesus about His delay, but He assured her: “I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, although he be dead, shall live.” (John 11:25) And he proceeded to call Lazarus forth from the tomb before a crowd of astonished witnesses.

Images of Lazarus in Scripture and Legend

After the martyrdom of St. James in Jerusalem, as persecution intensified, tradition says that Lazarus & his two sisters, along with others, were placed in a boat & set out to sea. This boat landed on the southern shore of France. While Lazarus & Martha went on to evangelize Provence, a fact recorded in French history, Mary retired to a cave in a mountain, to do penance for the rest of her life.

Martha is said to have died about the year 84. Her tomb is located in the crypt of the Collegiate Church of Tarrascon, France.

Summer-Tide is a time of relationships & harmony…Showing us how we are connected to the cosmos, to nature & its rhythms…with the longer days the pineal gland receives more light & we feel creative power shining in on us.

Here is a little guided meditation for this time of year:

Make yourself comfortable…taking a deep breath… filling your belly…thrilling your lungs…Let your body sink deep & Relax…

As your awareness is internalized, connect with the Breath of Life, gently moving through you…Make all your senses alert to the breath…Enjoy its power & simplicity…Feel the sustaining energy behind the breath…Feel the life force coursing through your cells & thoughts…

Bonnie Holsteen

Direct your inner vision to a large field, a field of glorious, full, sunflowers…It the dawning of a new day…a perfect Summer morning, with a white-cloud-dotted clear sky, & a warm sun beginning to dazzle the world with its light…The sunflowers are tall & abundant, swaying in the warming breeze blowing across the field…Listen to the rustle of their music, dancing in the harmony of the elements together…Their beautiful, rich color casting a golden glow all around you…

Delphine Brooks

There is a path ahead, meandering through the flowers, which are much taller than you are, magnificently facing the sun absorbing its rays…You follow this path, slowly & leisurely, feeling every part of your feet making contact with the fertile earth…The sunflowers lining the path acknowledge you, every step of the way, whispering of riches & abundance, of the golden prosperity of your soul

 Eugeny Khara

You look down to your right & see a large patch of St. John’s Wort in full bloom…Receiving permission from the plant spirit, you begin to harvest the bright yellow blossoms, putting them reverently into the pouch at your hip…

Thanking the glorious medicine of this spirit you move on down the path, feeling the heat rising with the sun, inflaming your souls purpose…

Image result for pennyroyal flower painting

You stop to drink from a clear stream…& as you begin to stand, you notice a patch of pennyroyal…You commune with its magic, gathering the fragrant medicine into your pouch…Feeling enlivened & in rhythm with the height of summer, you are lead to wisteria & roses…Fields of thyme & mugwort & chamomile

Image result for chamomile flower

This is where the plant fairies dance & play in the lengthening shadows…You are called to look up to the sky, & you see the first pink traces of dusk approaching… As you come to the end of this path, your heart is at peace…

A little way ahead there is an opening…You make your way there, seeing that it is a small mound with magnificent oaks & a pristine pond… Under one of the oak trees, on the edge of the pond there is a blazing campfire crackling as the sky turns orange-crimson…You are at home here…Your fire is born of oak & fir tree branches…The flames call out to you, whispering your secret name…

Campfire Painting - Album on Imgur

You offer up the harvest pouch you filled with love & summer herbs, casting it into the blue core of the flames…tossing in all thoughts of negativity…all obstacles…all pain…all worries, into its hot light of transformation…& as it burns free…take in the rising fragrance of your healing harvest…feeling cleansed…& energized

Linda Sorenson

Her grand design is reflected on the still pond at your feet…When you look at the pond, you see that it is a perfect reflection of your life, & on its surface you are able to see or experience all parts of who you are…What you are…What you will to become

Your soul’s beauty, vastness & great love blend, with the sunset colors, & the pond’s liquid shimmer…As the light fades, a soft breeze ripples across the pond, & the colors are set into motion. There is a sweet music in the air of flutes, & harps, bells & drums…a light begins to surface from the pond…you see a form crystallizing…You realize this is the spirit of Mother Earth come to dance with you…She hovers over the pond & in a sublime voice speaks to you…

“I have come – for you have honored me, by honoring yourself…I have come – for many do not know of Me…I have come – thru you…Your life & mine are the same…Your welfare & mine are the same…What is good for you is good for me…When you feel love, I feel love…So won’t you share your goodwill with others? Won’t you share your goodwill with the Universe? Won’t you share your goodwill with yourself? I ask, for I see you are willing & able…I see you are a bright power…You are full of courage & light…You are a transformer of reality

Transform the reality that no longer serves you…& as you do, link with others who know Me, & recognize the family of Life…When you recognize in someone, what you know inside to be true, seek to expand that truth…for as light is shared & love is grown, so shall the world change

Tom Schoonooghe

You are my feet & hands, my eyes & voice…You do not live alone…The world is yours to craft as you choose…Choose freedom…Choose the way that creates the best for all; children, women, men, bodies of water, mountains, the land, all life…I gift you with Life & the ability to care for it…Embrace this gift.”

The Feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, Latin: Sollemnitas Sacratissimi Cordis Iesu) is a solemnity in the liturgical calendar of the Roman Catholic Church. In the Catholic Church, the month of June is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. This great feast in the Church is always celebrated on the octave day of Corpus Christi, the feast which celebrates the Body & Blood of Christ. Corpus Christi falls on the Thursday after Trinity Sunday (which itself falls on the Sunday after Pentecost), which means the feast of the Sacred Heart falls nineteen days after Pentecost SundayThe following day is the feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, so these two devotions to the hearts of Jesus and Mary are side-by-side on the liturgical calendar.

Feast of Saint Vitus, a Christian saint from Sicily. He died as a martyr during the persecution of Christians by co-ruling Roman Emperors Diocletian & Maximian in 303. Vitus is counted as one of the Fourteen Holy Helpers of medieval Roman Catholicism. Saint Vitus’ Day is celebrated on 28 June on the Gregorian Calendar.

In the late Middle Ages, people in Germany & countries such as Latvia celebrated the feast of Vitus by dancing before his statue. This dancing became popular & the name “Saint Vitus Dance” was given to the neurological disorder Sydenham’s chorea. It also led to Vitus being considered the patron saint of dancers & of actors, comedians, dancers, of entertainers in general a& epileptics. He is also said to protect against lightning strikes, animal attacks & oversleeping.
