Greetings Friends – Here are a few thoughts that I probably won’t get to in my Pentecost presentation on Saturday so I thought to share them today:
In our time now, the Being of Anthroposophia working as the youngest member of the Divine Sophia, is guiding us on the path that leads to the true activity of thinking, feeling & willing, out of which arises the possibility of free human action, in anticipation of the age of the Spirit-Self.
Also Leading humanity in our journey thru the modern path of initiation, made available to humanity thru the work of 2 exalted servants of the Divine Sophia: Christian Rosenkreutz & Rudolf Steiner.
Steiner once characterized their relationship thru this supersensible picture:
We are asked to see ourselves in front of an altar in the spiritual world- on the left stands Christian Rosenkreutz in a blue stola – on the right, Rudolf Steiner in a red stola. Between them is Michael; & above our mighty Time Spirit, is the Being of Love, the Christos, holding the center between the eye of god the Father & the dove of wisdom – the Holy Sophia, flowing down to us thru the teachings of these great Christian Initiates. Available to those who gather at the altar, ready & willing to take up the indications offered & put them into action in the world.
Friends, we can remember: Red & blue are the colors of Mary-Sophia. Many great artists depict the Virgin Sophia in a cloak of red & blue.
This is also the pictorial reality seen in the 2 Columns of the Rosicrucian Temple – Joachim & Boaz.
This spiritual imagination points to our present, & future task: to cultivate the Etherization of our blood – What does that mean? How do we spiritualize the substance of our blood? – Thru the practice of heart-thinking – which is a result of the mystic marriage of: thinking (blue) & feeling (red) – a transformation of the physical blood into a higher vibration, where the formative forces can spiritualize the life force of our blood…
This Wedding is initiated thru the warmth of the Holy Spirit.
When the light of wisdom & revelation is able to fully penetrate the astral body of the human being, we reach the stage of Spirit-Self – where we can consciously act from our Higher ‘I’.
This is also the goal of the Rose Cross meditation – the cultivation of the Philosophers Stone – topic for another session.
For human beings to experience this we must purify our astral body–thru selfless renunciation which cultivates a higher desire, to serve with love.
And what’s so interesting – when we practice this – it will have a direct effect, not only in us as individual human beings, but it will light up the sphere of the Angels too; & then it has a ripple effect on up thru all the hierarchies –& also down into the elemental realms.
Lucifer who lost his connection to the Holy Spirit when he willed to rise before the time was ripe, becoming a tough-love-tool for the higher gods in our evolution, will, thru our human intervention as Anthroposophia, be able to regain this re-connection to the Healing Spirit working from the godhead – which will lead to the full redemption of Lucifer. It has already begun…
See you in the ethers

Anthroposophia & the Redemption of Lucifer – A Pentecost Festival for 2023
24 May 2023 – “Speaking with the Stars”: Tonight Bella Luna as a waxing crescent will speak with Mars & the Beehive star cluster. And of course you can’t miss bright Venus with Gemini the Twins, Castor & Pollux.
Dear Friends – It’s Interesting how rhythms ebb & flow. It’s powerful to discern the patterns.
Thru living into the energies of Ascension my work with The ‘10:10 Thought-Seed’ imagination has been strengthened.
It’s been awhile since we offically checked in around ‘Our ProjectEgregore’ – our collective ‘Thought-Form’ of Good Will – our “key-call” to the Spiritual powers on the Inner Planes, to enlist their aidin the graceful unfolding of our highest human destiny.
Kari Frid
Through our continued, & consistent intention to visualize the Human Being as a Star & the Earth as a Sun, our positive egregore grows between the material & spiritual worlds, & is connected to both.
This impulse extends beyond the usual limits of space/time, connecting the eternal with the temporal.
Our goal is to co-create a new ‘Group-Soul United in Christ’ thru our daily 10:10 contemplation.
Here is the Meditative Thought-Seed I love to work with:
For Thinking: “When I think light, my soul shines, When my soul shines, the Earth is a star, When the Earth is a star, I am, a true human being”. ~Herbert Hahn In Reverse: I am, a true human being The Earth is a Star My soul Shines I think Light
For Feeling: When I feel warmth, my heart sings When my heart sings, the Earth resounds When the Earth resounds, I am, a true I AM In Reverse: I am, a True I Am The Earth Resounds My Heart Sings I Feel Warmth
For Willing: When I will life, my hands help When my hands help, the Earth heals When the Earth heals, I am, a free human being In Reverse: I Am, a Free Human Being The Earth Heals My Hands Help I Will Life

Here’s a Steiner quote that supports our work: “Had the Event of Golgotha not occurred, the earth and the sun would never be able to reunite. For through the Event of Golgotha, which bound the force of the Elohim in the sun to the earth — in other words the force of the Logos — the impulse was given which will again eventually impel one Logos-force toward the other, and finally once more unite them — sun and earth — in one body. Since the Event of Golgotha, the earth, spiritually observed, is possessed of the force to draw the sun again into a unity with it.
Therefore it can be said that through this great Event, the force of the Logos, which formerly radiated down upon the earth from without, was now taken up into its spiritual being. The question may be asked, what existed previously within the body of the earth? It was that force which streamed down upon it from the sun. But since that time, what exists there within the earth? – The Logos itself which through Golgotha has become the spirit of the earth. As truly as your soul and spirit dwell within your physical body, do also the soul and spirit of the earth dwell within the body of the earth. This soul and spirit, this earth spirit is the Christ.” ~ The Gospel of St. John, Lecture 7 –THE MYSTERY OF GOLGOTHA

ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY (resourses include The original Calendar of the Soul by Rudolf Steiner, Wikipedia, Skyandtelescope.org)
1895 – Birthday of Emil Bock, Priest & co-founder of the Christian Community, anthroposophist and writer. In 1914 he began a study of languages at the University of Bonn . However, the same year he enlisted as a volunteer in the First World War and was sent to the front in Flanders , where he was wounded. In 1916, he met the theologian Friedrich Rittelmeyer , and from 1918 he studied Protestant theology in Berlin, and graduated in 1921. In June of the same year Bock met Rudolf Steiner and became one of the founders of the Christian Community in Switzerland.
Right at the moment of the rise of one of the most destructive, anti-human powers the world has ever seen, the Seminary of The Christian Community opened the doors of its first building dedicated to the training of priests in the movement for religious renewal. As Adolf Hitler proclaimed himself the “Führer”students gathered daily to hear words spoken in the sanctuary, from the altar, from the true “helfende Führer” (helping guide). Banned by the Nazi’s in 1941, Emil Bock – one of the founding priests and main teachers at the seminary – worked on a whole new translation of the New Testament while in the prison camp in Welzheim, including Paul’s letter to the Thessalonians and the Letter to the Hebrews. This spiritual work, completed under the pressures of a time of terrible catastrophe and real evil, became a powerful force that emerged above-ground at the end of the war in 1945. Bock was released from the concentration camp in 1942, but was under surveillance for the rest of the war. After the war, Bock was instrumental in the rebuilding of the community.
On November 1, 1950, Pius XII proclaimed the Dogma of the Assumption–Mary’s bodily assumption into heaven–which sent shock waves throughout the Christian world. C.G. Jung, for example, wrote his Answer to Job in response. Emil Bock’s response was the ‘Threefold Mary’ lectures, which answer some of the issues and broaden the scope to include not only the Mary-Sophia mystery in human history, but also the meaning of the feminine element in the evolution of consciousness. ~anthrowiki, christiancommunity
This precious little book contains three lectures — “The Mystery of the Virgin Mary in Body, Soul, and Spirit” — presented during the Christmas Holy Nights of 1950/51.
“The Mary mystery has meaning for all humankind, and a renewed Christian understanding of the human being in the fullest sense will be able to fathom it“. ~Emil Bock

17 May 2021 – “Speaking with the Stars”: Jupiter & the Moon rose together this morning around 5:30 am even as the sky was growing brighter with the impending sunrise. Bella Luna passes in front of Jupiter at 10 am CDT – this occultation is an event visible from much of North America, Canada, & Greenland. Continuing on its journey, the Moon passes north of Mercury at 9 pm CDT.
1510 – Death-day of Sandro Botticelli, Italian painter of the “golden age” of the Early Renaissance. He belonged to the Florentine School under the patronage of Lorenzo de’ Medici. Among Botticelli’s best-known works are The Birth of Venus & Primavera.
Grigory Valuyev
1606 – Murder of False Dmitriy I, the only Tsar ever raised to the throne by means of a military campaign. He was the first, & most successful, of three “impostors” who claimed, during the Time of Troubles, to be the youngest son of Ivan the Terrible.
Dmitriy married polish priestess Marina Mniszech. It was the usual practice that when a Russian Tsar married a woman of another faith, she would convert to Eastern Orthodox Christianity, but she didn’t because Dmitriy had obtained the support of Polish King Sigismund III Vasa & Pope Paul V by promising to reunite the Russian Orthodox Church & the Holy See.
This was considered a betrayal. Ten days after his marriage, commoners stormed the Kremlin & killed Dmitriy. The body was put on display & then cremated, the ashes shot from a cannon towards Poland.
He was the primary character in the opera Boris Godunov, & Modest Mussorgsky’s opera of the same name. His story is also told by Schiller in Demetrius, by Antonín Dvořák in his opera Dimitrij, & Rainer Maria Rilke recounts the overthrow of the False Dimitriy in The Notebooks of Malte Laurids Brigge; Rilke’s only longer prose work. Harold Lamb fictionalizes the demise of the False Dimitriy in “The Wolf Master”.

1922 – Riot at a Rudolf Steiner lecture in Munich on 15 May 1922, reported in the New York Times on 17 May.
REVIEW | Rudolf Steiner’s „blockbuster“ lecture tours in 1922 have been documented for the first time in Archivmagazin, including the attack on him by Nazis in Munich.
The famous concert agency Wolff & Sachs, organised two lecture tours by Steiner through several German cities. On the first tour in January 1922, Steiner spoke in front of about twenty thousand people. But this roll ended unexpectedly when during the second tour in May militant opponents from nationalistic populist (voelkisch) circles organised trouble in Munich and Elberfeld so that Steiner decided against a third tour.
What had happened? In Munich, Steiner had been “physically threatened and put in danger of his life by hooligans at the instigation of a newspaper,” as Friedrich Rittelmeyer wrote in Rudolf Steiner Enters My Life. Had the conspirators really planned to remove Steiner in an assassination attempt?
A lengthy introduction to the period shows that democracy in the young Weimar Republic was by no means secure. Right-wing terrorist organisations tried to assassinate leading politicians. Growing inflation brought about a feeling of insecurity among broad sections of the population.
The practical solutions promoted by anthroposophy in various fields of knowledge and life, primarily the movement for the threefold order of the social organism, made it a target for nationalistic and antisemitic forces. They saw Steiner as a stooge of the victorious powers and the agent of a global Jewish and Masonic conspiracy. Hitler’s mentor, Dietrich Eckart, had published a long article about Steiner in 1919 in which he mocked Steiner’s social impulse as “threefolding puppet”. Hitler himself decidedly rejected threefolding as early as 1920. According to police intelligence reports, when after his speech at the Munich Hofbräuhaus on 11 May 1920 one person recommended the threefolding idea as a possible solution to the social question, Hitler replied: “We don’t want any new ideas but to defend the old ones which have been seen to be correct.”
The reaction of nationalistic populist (voelkisch) groups to Rudolf Steiner is set out in detail. This is followed by chapters on the progress of the tour, the correspondence, business documents, an index of the papers relating to the Wolff & Sachs tours in the Rudolf Steiner Archive, a list of press reports, press reports and reminiscences of eye-witnesses. All texts have been provided with explanatory notes.
The dramatic occurence, which took place on the evening of 15 May 1922 in Munich’s premier hotel “Vier Jahreszeiten”, was even reported as a “riot” in the New York Times. The headline says: “RIOT AT MUNICH LECTURE. Reactionaries Storm Platform When Steiner Discusses Theosophy”.
It becomes clear from eye-witness reports that many people decided specifically as a result of the lectures on this tour to engage more deeply with anthroposophy.
“Thus Heinrich Liedvogel wrote how grateful he was that his father had taken him along to the lecture as a recalcitrant eighteen-year-old and that Rudolf Steiner had at the time made an ‘indelible impression’ on him which stayed with him for the rest of his life. He was impressed how Rudolf Steiner silenced the hecklers which were, however, subsequently to seize power. Fifteen year later (1933) he experienced in the same hall how the ‘clique of those earlier hecklers’ had ‘grown into a dragon which had, at least outwardly, destroyed the intellectual life of Germany’.” (p. 48)
Hans Büchenbacher, who in Munich had become aware at an early stage that Steiner was on a death list and that an attack was planned, organised his own protection force since the police had refused to take the appropriate measures.
Steiner, too, aware of the threat to his life, had asked Büchenbacher whether he should give the lecture at all. “It will probably reach the point that I can only speak any longer in the occupied Rhineland.” (The Rhineland was occupied by the Allies from 1918 to 1930.)
All the memoires agree in their description that after the lecture, while the audience was still applauding, attackers stormed the platform as the speaker was just about to leave the hall. He only just succeeded in closing the door behind him. Meanwhile the anthroposophists pushed the attackers down from the platform. There followed a scuffle, other reports refer to a general brawl. The attackers had worn swastikas. They were equipped with sticks, knives and firearms. Newspaper reports from Munich document the brutal actions of the Nazis against individuals and events by dissenters.
Shortly before the incident, the Munich weekly Heimatland (edited by the subsequent editor-in-chief of the Völkische Beobachter, the organ of the Nazi Party) wrote: “Are there no longer any men in Munich who feel themselves to be German and who will prevent the arrival of such a scoundrel? Above all, will our battle-hardened youth with its patriotic ethos tolerate this provocation? If ever there is a target worthy of rotten eggs and apples, there is none more worthy for this kind of projectile of contempt than the anthroposophical Cagliostro and betrayer of the homeland.”
For the Nazis, Steiner was a parasitic “enemy of the people”. The Völkische Beobachter wrote: “Our pencil bristles at seriously engaging with such a charlatan and enemy of the German people. He has millions at his disposal to pollute our nation with his teachings and through his influence on the widest circles he has turned into a danger to our present and our future.” (p. 211).
Steiner’s Dornach collaborator Edith Maryon, who had been worried about Steiner beforehand already, received a telegram: “Survived Munich. Steiner”.
This documentation makes clear once again the incompatibility of anthroposophy and nationalistic racist thinking.
There will be few people today inclined to present Steiner as a martyr. Yet many details have to be overlooked to reach the opinion that the Munich incident was a harmless interruption by some boisterous students. Steiner, against whom the press had agitated beforehand, was in danger of being beaten up and, if possible, “eliminated”. That this did not happen is due to the clever defensive measures of the anthroposophists.
The extraordinary courage with which Steiner exposed himself to the ever more brutal actions of his opponents to present his ideas must be admired. He finished the tours, which he admitted exhausted him, with unshakeable equanimity and his familiar self-discipline.
The lectures given on the tours which have now been published as GA 80a in the complete works. They form an extraordinary bundle within Steiner’s public lectures. They are individual lectures – the speaker was only able to present briefly things he set out in greater detail in lecture cycles – yet they have the appeal of precision. They are an introduction to the nature of his worldview from the mature perspective of the 60-year-old.
It is not evident from the tone of the lectures that they were held in a sometimes tense atmosphere. A large part of the audience appears willing to follow the speaker in his for them unusual and demanding lines of thought. The great applause, which even the newspaper reporters experienced as being unusual, certainly did not come just from anthroposophists since they only formed an insignificant minority among the more than thousand people in the audience on each occasion.
In almost every lecture Steiner fought against misunderstandings and the caricatures of his teachings. He differentiated his epistemological method sharply from experimental parapsychology, eastern yoga, and emotive mysticism and kept attempting to make the scientific nature of his research method clear from ever new perspectives. He also referred to the way in which anthroposophy could be productive in education, medicine, the religious life, etc.
The lectures give an insight into what an introduction to the nature of anthroposophy looked like almost 100 years ago. The notes explain the location and audience numbers. Entries from Steiner’s notebooks, press reviews and two recollections of the incident in Munich are included.

“…The hatred and antipathy in the world today can indeed be followed by international love with healing in its wings. This is indeed possible. But we are living in an age when all that is possible must be consciously, deliberately and freely striven for by human beings. There must be knowledge of the conditions requisite for uniting the peoples of the Earth, in order that, as a result of this knowledge, each individual people may help to make the waves of love follow those of hatred.
Human love alone has power to heal the wounds of hatred. If humankind has no wish for this love, chaos will remain. That is the terrible alternative now facing human beings who have knowledge. Those who realize its terrors know that the souls of men dare not sleep, for otherwise, as a result of the powerlessness caused by the sleep into which the souls of the peoples have fallen, the healing waves of love will not be able to flow over the waves of hatred.
Human beings who realize this will acquire the kind of knowledge that flows from a spiritual conception of the relationships between the peoples. They will take this knowledge into their feeling — love for humanity will be born. They will take this knowledge into their will – deeds for humanity will be accomplished.
The evolution of the age, with all the terrible paralysis that is appearing at the present time, places a solemn duty before the soul: to gather together all that can unite humankind in love and array it in opposition to the destructive elements that have made their appearance in recent times. This quest for loving unification, for unifying love is not merely a vague feeling. To those who understand the conditions of life today, it is the very highest duty of man.” ~Rudolf Steiner, ‘The Peoples of the Earth in the Light of Anthroposophy’, Stuttgart, March 10th, 1920

In 1962, Karl König offered this verse to the friends in America: The eternal rays Of the Holy Spirits of Light Build the tower of human trust, Which is formed in our hearts Out of brotherly love. The eternal piers of the helping Spirit-Messengers Bear the bridge of faithfulness That arches from I to I In what we do. So do we become united and strong In the work that we have begun And which we are committed in the spirit To bring to completion. May the greeting from soul to soul Ring through the fellowship of our doing.

ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY (From the Calendar of the Soul by Rudolf Steiner & Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)
1519 – Death Day of Leonardo da Vinci, Italian painter, sculptor, & architect. “…We know how Leonardo worked at the “Last Supper”. He often went and sat on the scaffolding and brooded for hours in front of the wall, then he would take a brush and make a few strokes and go away again. Sometimes he only went and stared at the picture and went away again. When he was painting the Christ Figure, his hand trembled. Indeed, if we put together all that we can find concerning this subject we must say that neither outwardly nor inwardly was Leonardo happy when painting this world-renowned picture. Now there were people at that time in Milan who were displeased with the slow progress of the picture, for instance a Prior of the monastery, who could not see why an artist could not paint such a picture quickly, and complained to the Duke. He too thought the affair had lasted too long. Leonardo answered: “The picture is to represent Jesus Christ and Judas, the two greatest contrasts; one cannot paint them in one year; there are no models for them in the world, neither for Judas nor for Christ”. After he had been working at the picture for years, he said he did not know whether he could finish it after all! Then he said that if finally he found no model for Judas he could always use the Prior himself! It was thus extraordinarily difficult to bring the picture to a conclusion but within himself Leonardo did not feel happy. For this picture showed the contrast between what lived in his soul and what he was able to represent on the canvas. Here it is necessary to bring forward a hypothesis of Spiritual Science, which may be reached by anyone who studies what can by degrees be learned about this picture.” ~Rudolf Steiner, Leonardo da Vinci, His Spiritual and Intellectual Greatness, At the Turning Point of the New Age
1611 – The King James Version of the Bible is published for the first time in London, England, by printer Robert Barker
1729 – Birthday of Catherine the Great of Russia, the longest-ruling female leader of Russia. The Catherinian Era, is often considered the Golden Age of the Russian Empire & the Russian nobility. She enthusiastically supported the ideals of The Enlightenment, thus earning the status of an enlightened despot. As a patron of the arts she presided over the age of the Russian Enlightenment, a period when the Smolny Institute, the first state-financed higher education institution for women in Europe, was established.
1772 – Birthday of Novalis, the pseudonym & pen name of Georg Philipp Friedrich Freiherr von Hardenberg, poet, author, mystic, & philosopher of Early German Romanticism. His study of mineralogy & management of salt mines in Saxony, was often ignored by his contemporary readers Novalis concerned himself with the scientific doctrine of Johann Gottlieb Fichte, which greatly influenced his world view, transforming Fichte’s Nicht-Ich (German “not I”) to a Du (“you”), an equal subject to the Ich (“I”). This was the starting point for Novalis’ Liebesreligion (“religion of love”) dedicated to his beloved Sophie who died of tuberculosis.

“Everything beloved is the centre point of a paradise.” – Novalis
Novalis took the name from “de Novali” which was an old family name. The future Baron von Hardenberg was born into a noble German family in lower Saxony. He was sent to a religious school as a boy, but he was stifled by the strict atmosphere and he never adjusted to its severe discipline. He later lived with his uncle who introduced him to the French literature and rational philosophy. He then went to Weissenfels, where his father moved, and entered the Eisleben gymnasium. In 1790-91 he studied law at the University of Jena, where he met Friedrich von Schiller and Friedrich Schlegel. Novalis completed his studies at Wittenberg in 1793.
In the 1790s, the ideas of the French Revolution spread among idealistic intellectual circles throughout Europe, greatly inspiring the young Novalis. He was also deeply moved by reading the mystical philosophical writings of Goethe. Goethe’s book “Wilhelm Meister’s Apprenticeship”, which he read in 1795, influenced him deeply; he considered it the Bible for the “New Age”. In 1795-96 he studied the works of Johann Gottlieb Fichte. At the age of 21 he moved to Tennstädt and took up job in civil service.
When Novalis was a young man, he fell in love with a teenage girl named, appropriately enough, Sophie (Sophia is a personification of the goddess of wisdom, the feminine embodiment of the divine in Western gnostic traditions). His experience of love for the young woman was so deep that it became a transformative, “mystical” experience for the young and impressionable Novalis, whose reading had made him receptive to the concept of ideal love. Sadly, Sophie von Kühn died two years later of tuberculosis.
In 1798 Novalis published a series of philosophical fragments, “Fragmenten”. The loss of his beloved caused an infinitude of pain and sorrow for the hapless young lover, but it also served as strong inspiration and source of creative energy. His “Hymnen an die Nacht” (Hymns to the Night – 1800) was the resultant work. This is a collection of prose, poetry and aphorisms in praise of the sacred encounters with nature, night, sleep, and the magnetic connection between the masculine and the feminine.
Novalis died at the age of 29 of tuberculosis, the same disease that claimed Sophie. He is considered one of the early German Romantics, and he is sometimes referred to as “the prophet of the Romantics”. ~from nicholasjv.com
Philipp Otto Runge’s Der kleine Morgen inspired by Novalis’s ideasRaphael
“…When we consider the life of Novalis, what an echo we find there of the Raphael life for which Hermann Grimm had so fine an understanding! His beloved dies in her youth. He is himself still young. What is he going to do with his life now that she has died? He tells us himself. He says that his life on Earth will be henceforth to “die after her”, to follow her on the way of death. He wants to pass over already now into the super-sensible, to lead again the Raphael life, not touching the Earth, but living out in poetry his magic idealism. He would fain not let himself be touched by Earth life.
When we read the “Fragments” of Novalis, and give ourselves up to the life that flows so abundantly in them, we can discover the secret of the deep impression they make on us. Whatever we have before us in immediate sense-reality, whatever the eye can see and recognise as beautiful — all this, through the magic idealism that lives in the soul of Novalis, appears in his poetry with a well-nigh heavenly splendour. The meanest and simplest material thing — with the magic idealism of his poetry he can make it live again in all its spiritual light and glory.
And so we see in Novalis a radiant and splendid forerunner of that Michael stream which is now to lead you all, my dear friends, while you live; and then, after you have gone through the gate of death, you will find in the spiritual super-sensible worlds all those others — among them also the being of whom I have been speaking to you today — all those with whom you are to prepare the work that shall be accomplished at the end of the century, and that shall lead mankind past the great crisis in which it is involved.” ~Rudolf Steiner, The Individuality of Elias, John, Raphael, Novalis – The Last Address – Dornach, Michaelmas Eve, 1924
May 2, 1924 – Deathday of Edith Maryon an English sculptor who worked closly with Rudolf Steiner on the carving of the First Goetheanum & on the Scultural Group called The ‘Representative of Humanity’. From Anthrowiki: Edith Maryon grew up as the second of six children of the wealthy master tailor John Simeon Maryon and his wife Louisa Church in central London. She attended a girls’ school and later a boarding school in Geneva, Switzerland . In the 1890s she studied sculpture at the Central School of Design in London , from 1896 at the Royal College of Arts , which she appointed in 1904 as an “Associate”. She went public with sculptural portraits and created reliefs in a classically inspired, traditionalist style.
After first meeting Rudolf Steiner in 1912/13, she moved to Dornach in the summer of 1914 and played a decisive role in the construction of the first Goetheanum . Together with Steiner, she was largely responsible for the design of the well-known large-scale sculpture The Representative of Humanity between Lucifer and Ahriman as well as colored eurythmy figure sculptures, which she also executed in wood. These works are stylistically close to Expressionism . Edith Maryon resisted any haste. For this reason, the work was not destroyed in the fire of the first Goetheanum on New Year’s Eve 1922/23, but has been preserved and is still on display in the (second) Goetheanum today.
When there was a housing shortage in Switzerland, Edith Maryon – together with Paul Johann Bay – designed three houses for employees on Dornacher Hügel between 1920-22. At that time called “English houses”, today they are called eurythmy houses .
Edith Maryon was in constant personal or letter contact with her teacher, Dr. Steiner. In a brotherly and sisterly way, he confided a great deal to her and dedicated some of his texts to her. While working in the sculptor’s studio around 1916, she once saved him from a serious, perhaps fatal, fall. In 1923 (after the burning of the first Goetheanum) Edith Maryon fell seriously ill. At the end of the year she was appointed head of the section for fine arts at the Goetheanum (without being able to hold the office) and died the following year of complications from tuberculosis .

When we tune into the Cycle of the Seasons, we experience that as the Earth breathes out in the Springtime, the beings of nature reach upwards towards the heights. The longing of the human soul also strives to meet this mood of ascension, which attunes all life to the cosmic expanses.
Together we will gain insights in how to rise up to our Higher Self by participating in this harmonizing spring-dialogue between the worlds.
Through this workshop we will learn how humanity will also be transfigured in the fullness of time. The company of the Angelic Hierarchies wait for us, their younger siblings, to ascend, first of all in our thinking, to meet them in fellowship, as they work all the while by our sides.

~Vitae Sophia~A Whitsun Festival of United Soul Endeavor
1 – 2:30 pm Central Time Saturday 27 May 2023 on zoom
We are called to redeem the ether spheres to create an Ecclesia, a chalice for The Sophia. Then the spirit flame can spread out to become what Steiner called a “World Whitsun”, which began in earnest at the Christmas Conference. The Whitsun Festival highlights one of the greatest challenges of being human: placing our individual gifts, in right relationship within the social realm. This challenge is especially strong now during this ‘pandemic’. Our groups striving to know Spiritual Science must work together as a community, to have the possibility to create a new culture where a sacrament is possible in every encounter. Our individual strength is enhanced by weaving our gifts together, kindling our social world in conscious community.
Hazel Archer is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.

But 1st, There are a couple of provisional caveats – A reminder – that the beautiful truth won’t always be simple or shiny & bright; a good marriage takes work to gleam & keep green… O yes, it can get murky & super dense, convoluted even, or perhaps kaleidoscopic… the bird song whispering sweet somethings may sound more like a marching band than a panpipe playing a quaint folk song… a pounding dissonant kinky version of Stravinsky’s Rite Of Spring (if you’re lucky)
When you ‘Give Peace & Dance’ (remember when?) you’re likely to be quivery & atwitter in your vows due to encounters with the Great Unknown – arrivals from beyond the Wild Blue Yonder – that will blow your mind, recalibrate your philosophy of life, & pique your cognitive curiosity.
So Rejoice… Your date with the numinous is stirring the divine in you, in an awe-inspiring, fire-friendly Reverse Ritual… (if you will it)
Your old self, which may have become stuck in a gnarly snarl deep inside your old habits must become the fuel you will use to burn away what does not serve… This bonfire will liberate the New True You.
Let the flames circulate a fresh combustion in your holy blood – & a spiraling sense of release & purpose will predominate… Then, as the New You, commits to the mystic union of Love & Freedom, flexing its vital force in a foreshadowing of future willing illumination proceeds, & the initiation that follows will bring you great tasks quaking with responsibility & many mighty orgasms of communal de-light… (as karma & Grace will allow)
And now let us open to the mighty being Michael:
Michael: O human being, as your Time Spirit, I stand in uprightness sending you courage to redeem the cosmic intelligence. Hold with me, the countenance of the Being of Love in your heart-thinking; & know the Wisdom of my Mother, The Divine Sophia, in your purified soul; so that you may embody Anthroposophia.
For on this May Day you are invited to join together these two parts of yourself, in an Alchemical union; remembering the promise you made whilst in my supersensible school; & then later as we enacted the Cosmic Cultus. Now, here on Earth, you, O human being, are called to reunite the Warmth & The Light.
Hear now from the Guardian at the Threshold:
Guardian: You are invited to contemplate your ‘Declaration of Intent’ – What are the vows you will make to yourself? What are the intentions that you will consecrate in the Temple of your Heart? What do you want to come forth from this union of: Soul & Spirit – Wisdom & Love – Warmth & Light?…The Union of the Being of Love, with the Wisdom of Anthroposophia – The joining of Warmth – to the Light of human Understanding…
Blessed be all those about to be united thru the interweaving of Love & Light. Blessed be our allies in the Spirit World, aligned with Love & Light, who attend us in this glorious ceremony of rededication…
Dear friends, in the silence of your heart, resonate, if it is your will, with the intention for union, & speak the word:
May the Love-in-me, be ever warm & ready to serve May the Light-in-me strive for true understanding & harmony That I may live in wholeness, & work in goodwill for the All. Now, & for all ages to come…
Dearly Beloved, I now pronounce you Christos-Sophia Receive the kiss of your Higher Self as you jump the broom to consciously cross the threshold…
And so now dear friends, with this new sense of Self ever transforming, you are invited to dance the 1st dance, singing: ‘Open-Minded, Whole-Hearted, Hands-on Faith’ – ‘Let all you do be done in the Wisdom of Love’

1 May 2023 – “Speaking with the Stars:” Let’s open the month of May by observing the stunning red carbon star V Hydrae. Located in Hydra the Water Snake, this star lies due south an hour after sunset, some 30° high. It remains visible all evening to the far upper right of bright Sirius in Canis Major the Big Dog.
Mercury is in inferior conjunction at 6 P.M. CDT. Although the solar system’s smallest, speediest planet is now behind the Sun from our point of view, it will emerge from our star’s glare before the end of the month.
ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY (From the Calendar of the Soul by Rudolf Steiner)
Rudolf Steiner’s brother Gustav, sister Leopoldine & their caretaker Margarethe Karner
1942 – Deathday of Gustav Steiner, Rudolf Steiner’s brother. Franziska Steiner their mother, is said to have suffered a severe shock from a railway accident shortly before the birth of her son Gustav. The fact that their youngest child was born deaf may be related to this.
As seen from the family’s letters, Gustav required constant care and supervision. At times he was very nervous and excited and ‘«’caused quite unpleasant behavior as a result’.
Gustav Steiner loved to read the newspaper, so Leopoldine his siter always had to provide him with newspapers. The fact that he liked to eat a lot made the sister sorrowful in the times when it was so difficult to get food.
When the sister could no longer take care of her brother because of her increasingly deteriorating eyes, a relative, Mrs. Barth, first looked after the siblings. However, Leopoldine Steiner didn’t get along with her. Then the nurse and anthroposophist Margarethe Karner took over the care of the siblings. When she herself fell ill in the 1930s, Gustav Steiner joined the Jahn-Hamburger family in 1936, first in Vienna, then in Gresten near Scheibbs in Lower Austria during the war years.
Thanks to Wolfgang Vögele’s initiative to record the memories of the daughter of this family, Gertrud Schmied-Hamburger, we know a lot about Gustav Steiner’s last years. Gertrud Schmied-Hamburger reports that he was able to speak a few words, but «of course, he spoke to us in sign language». When Gustav wanted something from someone, he tried to make himself understood with a kind of beep. He was «not shy of people at all» but approached all people and asked them about their name days. He was «actually of robust health. He was loving and very happy to help, as far as he could help […]. He got us wood […]. He did a great job of that. He also untied strings and picked seeds. He was always helpful. He never freaked out.» Obviously, his agitated nervousness, which is often reported in the family’s letters, had subsided in the later years of his life.
It is touching that in his later years, he loved to copy the works of his brother: first many prophecies and the soul calendar, then followed by ‹How do you gain knowledge of the higher worlds?› and ‹Theosophy›. As Hede Hamburger reported to Johanna Mücke on June 23, 1937, this copying work was «by itself the most important» to him.
At the end of April 1942, Gustav probably had a kind of intestinal obstruction and had to be admitted to the clinic in Scheibbs, where apparently no medical measures were applied. Gustav Steiner died of heart failure there on the first night after his admission.

This reconnection between heaven & earth was prefigured in the story of Jacob’s ladder from the Old Testament. Through his dream of the ‘stairway to heaven’, Jacob gave us a prophecy in the picture of a golden ladder on which choirs of Angels traverse between the ‘Above & Below’. The Mystery of the Ascension of Christ, 40 days after the Resurrection at Easter, fulfilled Jacob’s Prophecy. Christ as the Being of Love became the living bridge connecting us to the eternal.
