Friends, I have to say that Sirius is my favorite star! The way it scintillates has to be a kind of cosmic code. Even when I was a child it spoke to me. I have had many dreams over the years knowing they came from this place in space. I remembering reading something Steiner said about how besides those human beings known as Adam & Eve, most of us left Earth during the tumultuous early times when the planet was still so very hostile, & went to dwell on other planets or stars. (Can any one share that reference?) This definitely rings true for me. (I often still have a hard time being an Earthling).
As a young woman Doris Lessing’s science fiction series ‘Canopus in Argos‘ where Beings from Sirius come to help us remember our cosmic origins, made a deep impression. Truly formative, It really rang true, that yes, sometimes we forget who we really are, & the stars are there to remind us.
Right now this special star rises over the southeastern horizon after midnight; & at dawn we can see its brilliance adorning the southern part of the sky. This morning at 5:30 am we were communing, & wow, Sirius is seriously the brightest star of the whole sky. Even the city lights can’t interfere with its beaming message.
Sopdet or Sothis is the ancient Egyptian name of the star Sirius & its personification as an Egyptian goddess, conflated with Isis as a goddess & Anubis as a god. It’s easy to follow Orion to find Sirius: the starry belt of the mythological hunter points at this dazzling star, whose name means “glowing triangle or “Sharp One. ” Being the brightest star in the constellation Canis Major (which was traditionally associated with Orion’s dog), Sirius is also known as the “Dog Star”. During the dog days of summer the Nile rises with Sirius to feed the fertile bank & bring life to the desert.
During the early period of Egyptian civilization, this heliacal rising of the bright star preceded the annual flooding of the Nile. It was therefore used for the solar calendar which largely superseded the original lunar calendar in the 3rd millennium BC. & became central to cultural depictions of the year & to the celebrations of Wep Renpet the Egyptian New Year (starting around the beginning of August ie. ‘The dog days’) And Sopdet or Sothis was venerated as a goddess of the fertility brought to the soil by the flooding.
Sopdet is the consort of Sah, the personified constellation of Orion near Sirius. Their child Venus was the hawk god Sopdu, “Lord of the East”. As the “bringer of the New Year & the Nile flood”, she was associated with Osiris from an early date, & by the Ptolemaic period Sah & Sopdet almost solely appeared in forms conflated with Osiris & Isis.
She was depicted as a woman with a five-pointed star upon her head, usually with a horned hedjet. In the Ptolemaic & Roman period, the European notion of the “Dog Star” caused her to sometimes be represented as a large dog or as a woman riding one sidesaddle.
During the Old Kingdom, she was also an important ‘psychopomp’ working in the guise of Anubis, guiding deceased pharaohs thru the Egyptian underworld.
From the Middle Kingdom, Sopdet sometimes appeared as a god who held up part of Nut (the sky or firmament) with Hathor. In Greco-Roman Egypt, the male Sopdet was conflated with the dog-headed Anubis.
The Dogon Tribe from Mali, West Africa honor their connection to their Star Ancestors from Sirius.
Sothis brings her light here to this side of the globe during Autumn & Winter…So friends, make it your intention to tune into the message of Sirius thru its shimmering rainbow of light, then let me know what you talked about. 28 October 2021 – “Speaking with the Stars”: Last-quarter Moon (exact at 3:05 p.m. CT) rises around midnight, in Cancer far below Castor and Pollux. Once Bella Luna is up, the night is late enough that we’ll get a fine preview of the winter evening sky. Spot Procyon two or three fists at arm’s length right of the Moon, and brilliant Sirius the same distance right of Procyon. High over Sirius is Orion; high over Orion is Taurus with Aldebaran, the Hyades, and the Pleiades.
The later you look, the steeper the Jupiter-Saturn line tilts. And, by late evening you’ll find stars Alpha and Beta Capricorni almost directly to Saturn’s right, rather than upper right of it as in early evening.

Yes, it was during the very serious time in which the Hyperborean Epoch was creating desolation on earth without the Sun, which had withdrawn with the completion of the Polarian Epoch. Human Spirits went to Saturn, Jupiter, and Mars to wait out the crisis. Only with the exit of the Moon in the Lemurian Epoch was it possible for human evolution on earth to proceed safely, and so these Human Spirits descended again. Adam and Eve were the first to be created out of this resolution of the Moon crisis. Genesis, chapter 2 is about what came into the hands of the Lord God, Jahve, from then on. Firstly was the forming of Man from the dust of the ground and breathing life into his nostrils. And he became a living soul. Then came Eve from a rib, and the division of the sexes began. The rest is exponential.
The Bible is the greatest book of spiritual evolution in the history of the world. Its profound stories are designed to express and yet disguise great spiritual-evolutionary consequences throughout time and space. Much can be correlated with the post-atlantean cultural epochs. The Book of Revelation sets the future.
“With this in mind we can now answer the question, What happened to those spirit-astral beings who wished to descend as human beings, but found hardened bodies they could not enter? Not all of these beings could unite with the sun spirits for lack of sufficient maturity, and so the following occurred: Those beings who had to abandon the bodies on earth withdrew temporarily to Saturn, Jupiter, and Mars. While down below, the earth was becoming desolate, producing only bodies incapable of harboring human soul beings, we find the souls betaking themselves to these planetary worlds, there to await the time when they should again be able to find appropriate human bodies. While formerly they had been compelled to quit the earth, they now gradually returned — after the expulsion of the moon — and populated the rejuvenated human bodies. So the casting out of the moon was followed by a period in which more and more new bodies kept emerging. During the moon crisis the number of human beings extant was very small. These never lacked descendants; but when the souls came down they could make no use of the bodies, and they left them to perish. The human race was headed for extinction; but after the rejuvenation had set in the descendants of those human beings who had survived the moon crisis were again able to receive the souls from Saturn, Jupiter, and Mars. The earth was gradually peopled with souls. — Now you will understand what a significant, deeply incisive event this exit of the moon was: really everything was changed by it.”
Interesting to think how those that we call the young souls stayed longer in the spiritual world before incarnating to earth. I am taking up a study now of the Epic of Gilgamesh for a Holy Nights project. To think of Steiner as the wild man Enkidu will certainly be fruitful…

The story of Cain and Abel concerns a dilemma left over from the era of the moon crisis and its solution. Cain, made with the help of the Lord and given to Eve, slays his brother Abel and is cast out as a wanderer to the Land of Nod on the east of Eden. There he finds a race of people, the neolithics, and begins to effectuate their redemption in order to eventually enter the Adamic stream of evolution as described in Genesis, chapter five. Thus, Cain is related to the first pre-earthly deed of Christ. Bearing a fully developed twelve-sense system, this is what Cain brings to these prehistoric humans in hardened animal bodies. He takes a wife and they beget Enoch, and the process begins. Cain builds a city in honor of his son.

I suspect that this could have to do with the Epic of Gilgamesh, wherein a half-god man, Gilgamesh, has to take on a three-quarter god man in Enkidu/Eabani. Yet, they became friends instead and a close symbiotic relationship formed for the further progress of spiritual evolution.
One thing is certain based on Steiner’s close examination of Gilgamesh and Eabani in GA 233, “World History…..”, and that is that Eabani would eventually reincarnate as Alexander the Great. Gilgamesh becomes Aristotle. These are Steiner’s own indications. And, of course, he has the discretion to not even hint at his own personal involvement. GA 233 is a very important course for everybody to read and see how spiritual evolution proceeds with eyes wide open.

The Epic takes the wisdom of Atlantis after the flood into the quest to understand death & immortality, so yes, I can see a connection to Cain & Abel.
Those lectures GA 233 have worked deeply in me every year during the Holy Nights as they were presented by Steiner in the evenings of the Christmas Conference. This years offering is a lead up to the 100 year anniversary…
Do you really think I got the designations mixed? Gilgamesh was always the elder in these several incarnations because he was the old soul to Eabani’s young soul. For example, Aristotle, the teacher of Alexander, was twice his age. When Alexander died at age 32, Aristotle was soon to follow at age 62. When Aristotle was private tutor to Alexander from 13 to 16 years of age, Alexander quickly remembered his former life at Ephesus, wherein he had penetrated in the mystery of the Being of Artemis Itself. Thus, Alexander left Aristotle in a state of self-realization, having remembered his former life at Ephesus. His spiritual conquests were of a different kind. He was compelled to spread the aristotelian knowledge of nature to the four directions. He also opened up the Hellenistic Corridor for the further progress of the Hebrews to Palestine.
Yes, I do. I can see how you might switch them as they share concurrent incarnations.
This reasoning about the physical age is not congruent with the reality of the incarnation of an entelechy, which must ever change to experience true evolution, so the idea that just because one acts as teacher in one life & is older does not mean that individuality is an old soul…
