Holy Week

Rudolf Steiner speaks about the Mystery of Golgotha as a spiritual event that takes place on the stage of humanity. The events leading up to this mystery are a preparation for this sublime deed that stands at the center of attention for a living cosmos. The Earth is the spiritual center during the sacred Holy Week.

But this position is not arrived at simply because it is Palm Sunday on our calendar, it defined by a relational gesture occurring between Sun & Moon relative to Earth each year. Our task is to discern the meaning in this gesture by considering when in the course of the Holy Week it takes place.

Each year, the date of Easter is determined by the First Full Moon after the Sun crosses the celestial equator, which we refer to as the Vernal Equinox. (Palm Sunday, 11:30am) Easter does not immediately follow the Vernal Equinox, this would imply a dictatorial nature in the Sun. Rather, the Sun returns north of the celestial equator, & waits…The Sun waits for the Moon to arrive at Full phase, which means it stands opposite the Sun from the Earth, occurring for the first time in the year below the celestial equator. This Full Moon will always occur during the Holy Week, but it will be on a different day from one year to the next.

What does it mean when the Full Moon falls on the Wednesday of Holy Week?
What can it mean when that Full Storm Moon is totally eclipsed by the shadow of the Earth? (Lunar eclipse, March 23rd, 6:47am in Libra)

Come join our Easter-Tide Study throughout Holy Week

In the Summer-Tide, through ‘the great window of heaven’ we experience an interaction between humanity and the sun forces,  assisting us to develop an awareness of our ego. The summertime union between the sun and earth is actually a reunion between  the divine gods of the spiritual sun & their offspring, humankind.

We can contemplate this dynamic & bring it to life in our soul most strongly at this time.

Celestial Events – Full Moon – June 2, 2015

Greetings Star Stuff –

Tonight – June 2, 2015 – Watch for the Full Moon to group up with the planet Saturn and star Antares in the eastern sky at dusk.

As our Earth turns underneath the heavens tonight, look for this group to move westward across the nighttime sky.

The celestial threesome will climb highest aroundmidnight, and will sit low in the west at dawn, June 3.

In North America, we commonly call the June Full Moon the Strawberry or Honey Moon.

The Sun and Moon are opposite each other, Sun in Gemini, Moon in Sagittarius.

Mercury Rules Gemini, and it is currently Retrograde until June 11th.

Jupiter, Neptune, and Uranus are also key players.

Jupiter is in a configuration with this Full Moon and it also rules Sagittarius.

Unlike Mercury, it is moving forward. This is a time to embrace the “big picture” of things,

as Jupiter, the benevolent King, is expansive.  By opening ourselves up to a broader perspective and by connecting the dots,  we can influence the changes that we need to make in how we think and learn.

Jupiter in Leo is about exploring, experiencing, and expanding through our self-expression.

Uranus is also influencing Jupiter with supportive energy, which can help provide insights as well as as expose us to new, unconventional, or revolutionary ideas and perspectives.

Combined with retrograde Mercury, this suggests recalibrating our mind through a new awareness of ourselves.

Saturn is also in Sagittarius in retrograde motion, which is a strong indicator of restructuring our personal beliefs and philosophies.

The Buddha (whose name means: *The Awakened One* or *One who Knows*) is regarded as the ninth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. He was born in 563 BC on the Full Moon of May in Vaisakh. Traditionally, Buddha’s Birthday is known as Wesak or Visakah Puja (Buddhas Day).

Wesak, the major Buddhist festival of the year, celebrates the birth, enlightenment and death of the Buddha on one and the same day, when the Sun is in Taurus, and the Moon in Scorpio.

The Full Moon in May is a mystically auspicious time – This ‘Buddha Moon’ is considered to be the greatest moment of spiritual contact for the entire year.

Great polarities are said to be synthesized and consequently united at this festival.

Hope is revived in the world, and great seeds of beauty, truth, and goodness are planted within us — qualities needed for the unity of humankind.

Ancient Wisdom asserts that there will be a new coming of the World Avatar and those beings who assist them. But the reality set forth and embedded within this festival, is that WE, as a living unit called humanity, are to be that World Avatar, when we can live as “Christ in me”…

The Wesak Festival provides us each year with a reception of the tools of love and wisdom, to fulfill this ancient prophecy. What all the higher beings have done, we can do also, taking up our responsibility as the 10th hierarchy to radiate the Christ Impulse out to all the kingdoms of Earth -becoming like little suns – emanating rays from the very core of our “I”, through the vehicle of our bodies, from our purified hearts, and specifically from our forehead, where our third eye is located. This is the Bulls Eye of Taurus – the Sun of May – and the mystery of the transformative Scorpio Moon.

The Full Buddha Moon is exact at 12:42pm CST, on May 3rd 2015, we will see it rise over the Great Inland Sea of Chicago at 7:32pm, and it will set on May 4th at 6:13am.

Friday, May 8, Lecture – 7pm –9pm The weekly verses in the Calendar of the Soul create a special dynamic for one’s meditative life during the course of the year. We will focus in particular on the period between Easter and Whitsun. ($10 suggested donation)

Saturday, May 9, Seminar – 10am – 4:30pm (Lunch break: 12:30 – 2pm)  The seminar will allow us to explore in greater depth through conversation and artistic activity (eurythmy). Celestial Event – March 2015 – Spring Equinox, New Moon, Total Solar Eclipse

It’s time to marvel at the cosmic dance of Sun, Moon and Earth during the SPRING EQUINOX.

On March 20, 2015 the plane of Earth’s Equator passes the center of the Sun.

At that instant, the tilt of Earth’s axis doesn’t slant away from, or towards the Sun.

You could say the cosmos stands in equipoise.

The two annual equinoxes (Spring and Autumn) are the only times when the subsolar point—

the place on Earth’s surface where the center of the Sun is exactly overhead—is on the Equator, and, consequently, the Sun is at zenith over the Equator. The subsolar point crosses the equator, moving northward at the March equinox and southward at the September equinox.

To make this celestial event even more powerful, it is also a NEW MOON, aligning into a TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE! On this day, when the Center of the Sun and the Earth’s equator align, the New Moon will be in-between, blocking the Sun. The last time we had a solar eclipse on the Spring Equinox was 1662!

This unique occurrence is the beginning of a series of four March Equinox/Solar Eclipse occurrences that will happen at 19-year intervals this century, for the first time since the 1600s.

2015, 2034, 2053 and 2072 — each one of these years will see a solar eclipse — a process where our moon temporarily blocks the light of the mighty sun — coinciding with the first day of spring,

the day when the sun evenly distributes its light across the planet’s hemispheres.

Could it be an enhancement of the 4-fold Human Being?

And then dear friends on HOLY SATURDAY, the Full Moon after the Equinox we will experience a LUNAR ECLIPSE – 4 APRIL, 2015! -The 3rd in a series of 4 lunar eclipses (a Tetrad).

NASA research showed that this century, eclipses have a definite pattern – occurring four times every six months during definite periods. From 1600-1900, lunar eclipses didn’t have this pattern.

This pattern of lunar and solar eclipses – unique to our century- seems to be saying that we are defining the next 300 years NOW.
