As Above so Below

Greetings Friends

The Final Chapter, of the Tetrad Series http://science.nasa.gov/science-news/science-at-nasa/2014/27mar_tetrad/ which the Central Region of the Anthroposophical Society has been working with in our ‘Speaking with the Stars Project’ begins September 12-13, and ends at our Michaelmas Festival Sept. 27-28, 2015.

Join us at the Branch for our last Solar Eclipse Gathering Sunday September 13th 5:30am – 7am This New Moon Solar Eclipse in Virgo, is on the eve of Rosh Hashanah.

Together as we greet the Sunrise, with:

*The Hallelujah in Eurythmy, and other group eurythmy with Tish Pierce

*We will review parts of Steiner’s lecture “Human Questions and Cosmic Answers”, so that we can rise in our thinking to meet the spiritual significance of an eclipse

*We will work with the Foundation Stone Meditation, and other Verses.

 *Michaelmas Songs

*Paper Sculpting: Cutting out forms in paper is an astral activity, which relates to the starry realm, as opposed to the flowing out processes which could be called etheric. It is the process our body uses to shape itself.

Doing this form of art, can help us take hold of this development with consciousness, an especially important endeavor to do during the eclipse time.

Shared Potluck Breakfast to Follow.

Chicago Event – National Eurythmy Conference

National Eurythmy Conference

July 30 – August 1, 2015, in Chicago

Impulses Working through Therapeutic Eurythmy

To Address Stress and Anxiety in our Time

With Ross Rentea MD

This conference is geared primarily toward physicians and therapeutic eurythmists. However, other eurythmists are also warmly invited to attend.

Coming from cosmic impulses Therapeutic Eurythmy can offer fundamental healing impulses to the pervasive, nearly epidemic challenges of stress and anxiety which can lame and undermine untold numbers of people.

Some of the highlights for this work- intensive gathering are:

*How can we make the insights given by R. Steiner in his eurythmical “12 Moods” useful in the therapy of anxiety and stress?

(Since the original demonstration was given on August 29, 1915 the work will also serve as a centennial celebration of this unique work.

Many new research aspects worked on by the group of doctors in Chicago/Wisconsin will be presented);

*We will look at new aspects (or some that are less practiced) related to the psychology and physiology of the eurythmical gestures (zodiac consonants emphasized) from an anthroposophical viewpoint;

*Multiple case presentations will be given by several therapeutic eurythmists followed by discussions and explanations;

*Throughout the conference a review and practice of the therapeutic eurythmy gestures will take place.

(This should be particularly interesting to the prescribers and eurythmists who may want to take up the therapeutic work);

*Most sessions will be introduced and ended with artistic solo/group eurythmy offerings;

Suggested reading material:

Lectures 6 and 7 of the Curative Eurythmy Course;

Twelve Moods, a small booklet published by Mercury Press (containing both the original German verses and an English translation; another translation is available on the website:  www.koliskoinstitute.org)

Insight – Conscience

Beloved Friends –

While Michael wants us to develop a consciousness of the human being in relation to the supersensible,

Uriel wants us to wake up towards an inner conscience.

From Rudolf Steiner we know that Uriel’s intelligence governs all planetary and zodiac activity in the cosmos, and that in Uriel’s thinking, world thinking is embedded. His gaze is stern, making us aware of our faults and misdeeds, of our karmic debt to humanity and the earth. Uriel asks us to develop a ‘historic conscience’…

 “Uriel, ruling guardian of summer heights,

You with the all-penetrating gaze.

From your eyes stream forth

The light of the resting stars,

Of the wandering moon,

Of fire flaming powers of lightning.

You watch and judge the reapers of the harvest,

Of us, man on earth, usurpers of the light.

You, Archangel Uriel, conscience of the world,

Wisest among all angels”.

~ From Uriel, a St. John’s Hymn By Wilfried Hammacher,

Translated by Truus Geraets

Festival – Weltenwärme – Summer Solstice 2015

Happy Father’s Day and Greetings on this the longest day –

Summer Solstice 2015

Summer
In radiant heights
Where, glistening in the sun,
The friendly dragonflies are
Flitting out rays of warmth
Which blend into the space around,
There, tarry thou, my soul;
For, thinking of me, they weave
From sadness, strength.
Already I can feel
How they are sensing me;
How warmth streams from them,
Permeating me.
The spirit dissolves
In cosmic interweaving,
The earthly heaviness
Into light of the future.
~Rudolf Steiner

We can seek to experience the ego development of humankind by following the earnest gaze of the Archangel Uriel into the earth,  guiding the union of the sun’s inner radiance with the being of the earth.

Like the call of conscience from John the Baptist, the need arises to let the light of the higher ego shine into our being, knowing that the union of creator and created is affected by the disharmony from the imperfect deeds of humanity.

We respond to the summertime call for a yearly ‘metanoia’ by reviewing our deeds of the past year, (like we do at the time of the Winter Solstice) while the ‘eye of heaven’ gazes down upon us.

We seek to know the will forces, that through our deeds, become part of the earth’s being.

In the Summer-Tide, through ‘the great window of heaven’ we experience an interaction between humanity and the sun forces,  assisting us to develop an awareness of our ego. The summertime union between the sun and earth is actually a reunion between  the divine gods of the spiritual sun & their offspring, humankind.

We can contemplate this dynamic & bring it to life in our soul most strongly at this time.
