POD (Poem Of the Day)
~Sleepers awake & the awakened forget – Such rhythm is the restless tide… I rise gently Fall softly…
…In the Cabbala, the Jewish mystical tradition, the glyph of the Tree of Life, shows us the entire universe. The #11 is the elusive Sphere of Daath, which means “knowledge of, or crossing the Abyss”, it is located in between the Supernal Triangle (Kether, Chokmah & Binah) & the Sephiroth of the manifested world. Daath is represented by the imagination a camel crossing the desert, & can be compared with the “Dark Night of the Soul“. This state of the mind is essential to the ‘Great Work’. In contemplating this mysterious sphere we are brought into contact with the Guardian of the Threshold, Our Angel or Higher Self, which can safely conduct us over the Abyss.
Every letter of the Hebrew alphabet has a number. Part of the work of the Cabbalist is to use what is referred to as Gematria, where we add up the numbers of each word revealing secret combinations & connections that give us a deeper meaning thru the various, sometimes surprising corresponding attributes.
All these & many more add up to 11: LIGHT = 56 = 5 + 6 = 11, HEALING = 56 = 5 + 6 = 11, SHAMBHALA = 65 = 6 + 5 = 11, ENERGY = 74 = 7 + 4 = 11, OCCULT = 74 = 7 + 4 = 11, CROSS = 74 = 7 + 4 = 11, JESUS = 74 = 7 + 4 = 11, THE CHRIST = 110 = 11, MESSIAH = 74 = 7 + 4 = 11, REVERSE = 92 = 9 + 2 = 11, I AM WHO I AM = 92 = 9 + 2 = 11, DOORWAY = 101 = 11, THE LOGOS = 101 = 11, THE GROOM = 101 = 11, MELCHIZEDEK = 101 = 11, THE SOPHIA = 101 = 11
~hag
“11” also suggests the mystery of the human being coming face-to-face with the ‘Self’, where “1” meets “1”, Where our “I” meets itself as a reflection in the world (“…In matter thus I find the world, & know myself amidst the worlds becoming” ~RS)
~hag
11 can also represent a Dyad, 1 + 1 = 2 – or a Number repeated, & then we can see 11 as the mystic number of Womanhood, a dividing into two / mother & child.
In the Hebrew language the word for female is ascribed the letter Beth, which means house or womb. In eurythmy Virgo is the letter B as well. The 11th letter in the Hebrew Alphabet is Caph = palm (2 hands in prayer)
In Numerology the number 10 is the number of completion. 11 is considered the ‘Master Number’ which duplicates itself, & represents inspiration, illumination, & spiritual enlightenment. And yet it is an odd number, an unstable number. We will look into the #12 in a minute.
Our Day Star has a Sun Spot Cycle of 11 years. Rudolf Steiner tells us that there wasn’t always this phenomenon of sun spots- that this is the physical reality of the materialism on earth which is showing itself as decay on the Sun.
At the 11th hour in the life of Christ on earth, Judas, one of the 12 chosen disciples, betrays him. Judas ends up killing himself over having this hard destiny, which then leaves only 11 to pass through the rites of the Mystery of Golgotha. These 11 stay together, forming a dedicated conscious community, a prefiguring of the consciousness soul age which we are living into now. Then 50 days after the Resurrection, the 11, together in the upper room, receive the descent of the Holy Spirit, the Grace of the Dove, the flaming tongues, coming as promised on the rushing winds of Pentecost; The Sophia, baptizes them with fire, & the 11 become empowered with their individual missions, & together they are able to choose another from out of their community to round out the perfect Zodiac once again.
This experience of initiation shifts them into the wholeness of the Higher “I”, able to perform the deeds that the Christ did on earth, for themselves. (although they used a form of divination: they drew straws!) We can see this as an alignment of their will with the Divine Will, & also as a crossing of the threshold, a true rite of passage, from being called & conducted by higher worlds, to an ability to heed an inner calling which activates the will to action.
Could this original 11 be the origin of the now ubiquitous sighting of 11:11 everywhere? A call to rise up in our initiative, & to truly live as Christ in me…?
Revelation 11:11:
And after three days and an half the
Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and
great fear fell upon them which saw them. 12. And they heard a great voice from
heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a
cloud; and their enemies beheld them

5 November 2019 – “Speaking with the Stars”: Fomalhaut is lower left of Bella Luna in Her waxing mode this evening. Very high in the southeast now is the Great Square of Pegasus. Its western side points down to Fomalhaut.
According to Rudolf Steiner’s Calendar of the Soul Today is the Birthday of Elizabeth – Elisheba: (in the Hebrew אֱלִישֶׁבַע / אֱלִישָׁבַע “My God has sworn”; Mother of John The Baptist – The Gospel of Luke tells us Elizabeth was “of the daughters of Aaron” (1:5). She and her husband Zachariah were “righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless” (1:6–7), but childless. While he was in the temple of the Lord (1:8–12), Zacharias was visited by the angel Gabriel: But the angel said to him: “Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to call him John. He will be a joy and delight to you, and many will rejoice because of his birth, for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He is never to take wine or other fermented drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even before he is born. — Luke 1:13–15 Zacharias doubted whereby he could know this since both he and his wife were old. The angel identified himself as Gabriel and told Zacharias that he would be “dumb, and not able to speak” until the words were fulfilled, because he did not believe. When the days of his ministry were complete, he returned to his house (Luke 1:16–23). After this his wife Elizabeth became pregnant and for five months remained in seclusion. “The Lord has done this for me,” she said. “In these days he has shown his favor and taken away my disgrace among the people.” — Luke 1:24–25 According to the account, the angel Gabriel was then sent to Nazareth in Galilee to her relative[Luke 1:36] Mary, a virgin, espoused to a man called Joseph, and informed her that she would conceive by the Holy Ghost and bring forth a son to be called Jesus. After she was also informed that her “relative Elizabeth” had begun her sixth month of pregnancy, she traveled to “Hebron, in the hill country of Judah”, to visit Elizabeth. (Luke 1:26–40) When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. In a loud voice she exclaimed: “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear! But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy. Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!” — Luke 1:41–45
Mariotto Albertinelli,
Mary stayed with Elizabeth for about three months and then returned home. When it was time for Elizabeth to have her baby, she gave birth to a son.
Her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown her great mercy, and they shared her joy. On the eighth day they came to circumcise the child, and they were going to name him after his father Zechariah, but his mother spoke up and said, “No! He is to be called John.” They said to her, “There is no one among your relatives who has that name.” Then they made signs to his father, to find out what he would like to name the child. He asked for a writing tablet, and to everyone’s astonishment he wrote, “His name is John.” Immediately his mouth was opened and his tongue set free, and he began to speak, praising God.— Luke 1:56–64
1811 – Salvadoran priest José Matías Delgado, rings the bells of La Merced church in San Salvador, calling for insurrection and launching the 1811 Independence Movement.
1831 – Nat Turner, American slave leader, is tried, convicted, & sentenced to death in Virginia.
1862 –Abraham Lincoln removes George B. McClellan as commander of the Army of the Potomac.
1872 – Women’s suffrage in the United States: In defiance of the law, suffragist Susan B. Anthony votes for the first time, & is later fined $100.
1895 – George B. Selden is granted the first U.S. patent for an automobile.
1912 – Woodrow Wilson is elected the 28th President of the United States, defeating incumbent William Howard Taft. From Rudolf Steiner’s The Social Future: “Woodrow Wilson’s criticism of the present social order agrees almost word for word with the sentiments expressed even by Lenin and Trotsky, the gravediggers of modern civilization, of whom it may be said that, if their rule continues too long, even in a few places, it will signify the death of modern civilization and must of necessity lead to the destruction of all the attainments of modern civilization. In spite of this we must give expression to the paradox: Woodrow Wilson, who certainly imagined a very different reconstruction of social conditions from that of these destroyers of society, directs almost literally the same criticism against the present order as these others, and he comes to the same conclusion that legal and political conceptions in their present form are obsolete, and are no longer fitted to deal with the economic system. And, strange to say, when we try to find something positive and to test what Woodrow Wilson has produced in order to construct a new social organism, we find hardly any answer, only a few measures here and there, which have even been proposed elsewhere by someone much less scathing in his criticism. But he gives no answer to the question relative to the changes necessary in legal matters, in political conceptions and impulses, in order that these may control the demands of modern economic life and render it possible for them to intervene in its activities”.
1917 – Lenin calls for the October Revolution.
1940 – Franklin D. Roosevelt is the first and
only President of the United States to be elected to a third term.

11.11.19 – On this auspicious day we gather to look at the mystery of 11:11, & the connections between, Martinmas, MLK, The Journey of the Soul in the life between death & rebirth, Armistice Day, The laying of the Foundation Stone, & a Rare Cosmic Alignment – The Transit of Mercury across the Sun.
Since perhaps you won’t be able to join us at the Martin Clinic in Atlanta GA. , I will share some of my thoughts with you here in a few installments before I set off for the ‘All Souls Southern Tour’ on Saturday November 9th (the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall)
Have you experienced what it called the ‘Time Prompt Phenomenon’? In our digital age this synchronicity seems to happen a lot. You feel the urge to look up; & the cloak says 11:11…Is the Universe trying to get your attention?
~hag
Some claim that seeing 11:11 is a propitious sign. Others say that 11:11 signals a divine presence. This portent seems to happen more frequently when we are on a spiritual path of self-development. Many people are beginning to awaken to their higher selves & to the true nature of reality. Perhaps the 11:11 experience is a synchronicity that occurs when we become more conscious of the connection between the physical world outside, & the spiritual world within. This appearance of an abundance of 11:11 sightings seems to be a wake-up call, a prompt to snap out of the mundane, materialistic way of thinking, opening to the realm of the supersensible.
In China, 11 represents The Tao – The Way, or union of the sky & the earth.
~hag (Bruce Rimall)
It is the union of the microcosm & the macrocosm. In mathematics it can be represented by 5 + 6 – related to the Pentagram & the Hexagram.
~hag
If you multiply
1111 by 1111 you get 1234321, representing a pyramid. 11 is also a number
harmonious with Pi.
Scientists have
found a gene on chromosome 11, which may be involved in DNA repair.
It seems that
the # 11 is of central importance in understanding the mathematical
infrastructure of the universe.
More to explore
tomorrow…
Until soon

4 November 2019 – “Speaking with the Stars”: Bella Luna is getting dressed up in Her First Quarter custom appearing in the southern sky as darkness falls & remains on view until after 11 pm CST. Our satellite officially reaches Her First Quarter phase at 6:23 am CST tomorrow morning. She spends this evening among the background stars of Capricornus the Sea Goat.
1783 – Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Symphony No. 36 is performed for the first time in Linz, Austria. The Linz Symphony was written during a stopover in the Austrian town of Linz on back home to Vienna from Salzburg with his wife. The entire symphony was written in four days to accommodate the local count’s announcement, upon hearing of the Mozarts’ arrival in Linz, of a concert.
1847 – Deathday of Felix Mendelssohn, a German composer, pianist, organist & conductor. His best-known works include his Overture & incidental music for A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the Italian Symphony, the Scottish Symphony, the oratorio Elijah, the overture The Hebrides, his mature Violin Concerto, & his String Octet. The melody for the Christmas carol “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing” is also his. Mendelssohn’s Songs Without Words are his most famous solo piano compositions.
A grandson of the philosopher Moses Mendelssohn, Felix Mendelssohn
was born into a prominent Jewish family. He was brought up without religion
until the age of seven, when he was baptized as a Reformed Christian. Felix was
recognized early as a musical prodigy, but his parents were cautious & did
not seek to capitalize on his talent.
1847 – Sir James Young Simpson, a Scottish physician, discovers the anaesthetic properties of chloroform
1922 – In Egypt, British archaeologist Howard Carter & Lord Carnarvon find the entrance to Tutankhamun’s tomb in the Valley of the Kings.
Howard Carter stood before a sealed door blocking a dark corridor. Behind him stood his patron Lord Carnarvon. Both men knew that they were standing in the tomb of the 18th-Dynasty boy king Tutankhamun – the sealing on the now dismantled outer door had made that clear. But the outer door had also shown the unmistakable signs of more than one forced entry. Was Tutankhamun still lying undisturbed in his tomb? Or had the ancient robbers once again thwarted the modern archaeologists? Nervously, his hands trembling, Carter forced a small hole in the left hand corner of the doorway, lit a candle, and peered inside.
Howard Carter pushed a candle through a hole he had made in a sealed tomb door and peeked inside. “Can you see anything?”, he was asked. “Yes, wonderful things”.
The most magnificent treasure of all — the pharaoh’s burial mask.
Carter had just discovered the tomb of an obscure 18th dynasty pharaoh, Tutankhamun. Piled high with a dazzling array of treasures, the contents would stun the world.
Carter and his sponsor, Lord Carnarvon, had made the greatest discovery in the history of Egyptology — a fully intact 3000-year-old pharaoh’s tomb untouched by grave robbers.
The story was mesmerising. Henry Morton, the only journalist allowed on the excavation, filed a series of reports of Carter’s discoveries to the London Times. And they kept coming.
The tomb was so stuffed with treasures it took the team nearly 3 months to sort and catalog them all. But by February the next year, Carter and Carnarvon were ready to open the inner burial chamber that they hoped would contain the pharaoh himself.
Carter and Carnarvon at the entrance to the burial chamber
They were astonished by what they found — 3 solid gold coffins, nested inside of each other. Inside the final one was the mummy of boy king, Tutankhamun.
Shortly after the amazing discovery, tragedy struck. Lord Carnarvon fell ill and died after an insect bite went septic.
Rumours began to circulate that Carter and Carnarvon had found stone tablets in Tutankhamun’s tomb inscribed with a curse. Had Carnarvon been struck down by a pharaoh’s spell for daring to desecrate his burial place?
Arthur Conan Doyle, the creator of Sherlock Holmes, thought so. Ironically for a man associated with the logical detective, Doyle was an ardent believer in the supernatural and declared that Carnarvon was struck dead for daring to disturb the young king.
Was this simply early tabloid sensationalism and wild imaginations or did a sinister curse doom those who dared enter the pharaoh’s last resting place?
Even before Carnarvon’s death, there was talk of impending doom.
The day Carter first discovered the entrance to the tomb, a cobra got into his house and killed his pet canary. Pharaohs were represented by the cobra, and Carter’s workers felt it an omen — do not enter.
Best-selling novelist Marie Corelli, quoting an ancient Arabic manuscript, told the press that — “the most dire punishment follows any rash intruder into a sealed tomb”.
Carter also received a rash of letters warning him not to proceed. The archeologist dismissed it all as nonsense, but when his benefactor Carnarvon died shortly later it sent the press into a frenzy.
It wasn’t entirely clear how he died, although the suggestion was that a mosquito bite had become infected when Carnarvon accidently nicked it whilst shaving. After a delirious fever, he succumbed on April 5th, 1923.
Carter, centre and Carnarvon, centre right, with party
More details emerged that encouraged the speculation. The night of his death, there was a black-out in Cairo and reportedly Carnarovan’s dog back in England let out a howl and dropped dead.
The press around the world had become obsessed by the idea Carnarvon was killed by a pharaoh’s curse. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle publically endorsed the idea.
A Los Angeles Times leader wrote — “No matter how little superstitious a man may be, the act of breaking the rest so carefully guarded through the centuries must cause an emotion which time can never efface”.
More deaths were to follow. A few weeks after Carnarvon’s death, Carter gave wealthy financier George J Gould a private tour of he tomb. Soon after, Gould came down with a fever and died.
Other early tomb visitors died violent or strange deaths within the year. Prince Ali Kemal Fahmy Bey and South African millionaire Woolf Joel were both murdered and British MP Aubrey Herbert went blind and died of blood poisoning.
Carter and his workers remove the treasures — did they provoke the pharaoh’s wrath?
Hebert’s death was particularly tragic for the Carnarvon family as he was Lord Carnarvon’s half brother. He had reported on entering the burial chamber — “something dreadful is going to happen to our family”.
Perhaps the press were right? Within months, a disparate group of characters from around the world were all dead after visiting the tomb.
The following year, 1924, would only fuel the speculation. In January, Sir Archibald Douglas-Reid, who had x-rayed King Tutankhamun’s body, died from a mysterious illness.
H. E. Evelyn-White was next. The young British archeologist was one of the first to enter the tomb after Carter. After writing — “I have succumbed to a curse” in his own blood, he hung himself.
Sir Lee Stack, governor of Sudan, was also amongst the earliest visitors to the pharaoh’s tomb. Later that year he too met a violent end, shot dead on the streets of Cairo by an assassin.
The next year one of the most peculiar stories surrounding the curse hit the news-stands. Howard Carter had given his close friend, Sir Bruce Ingham, a paperweight made from a mummified hand wearing a scarab bracelet.
The dig site has notable visitors from all around the world.
Inscribed upon the bracelet were the words — “cursed be he who moves my body. To him shall come fire, water and pestilence”. Soon after, Ingham’s house burnt down. When it was rebuilt, it flooded.
In 1926, George Benedite of the Louvre museum died shortly after visiting the tomb. Another Egyptologist, Aaron Ember, also died that year in a curious fire at his home.
After Howard Carter himself, the main archeologist to excavate Tutankhamun’s tomb was A. C. Mace. Mace spent years on the dig and co-authored the first book about discovery with Carter.
In 1928, after complaining of increasing weakness, he collapsed. He died shortly later, seemingly of arsenic poisoning, in the same hospital as Lord Carnarvon.
1929 saw two particularly strange deaths. As Howard Carter’s personal secretary, Richard Bethell was present at the opening of the burial chamber in 1923. He was found in November, smothered to death in his bed.
The press blamed Westbury’s suicide on the curse
A few months later, Bethel’s father Baron Westbury jumped from his seventh floor flat in a delirium. The flat contained artifacts from the dig, obtained by his late son. Westbury’s suicide note read — “I really cannot stand any more horrors and hardly see what good I am going to do here, so I am making my exit”.
Finally in 1929, Lord Carnarvon’s other half brother died from ‘malarial pneumonia’.
Within 6 years of the discovery, Carnarvon, both his half brothers, Carter’s chief archeologist, his personal secretary and his father, the excavation’s radiologist and at least half a dozen other prominent individuals who visited the tomb were all dead.
Carter examines the coffin. Did he unleash a sinister force?
Was it down to vivid imaginations and a lot of coincidences, or did this rash of deaths have a more sinister cause?
Perhaps we don’t need to suppose any supernatural source for the ‘curse’. Could there be a more scientific answer?
The ‘curse’ of Tutankhamun was still claiming victims 70 years on. But this time it pointed to a scientific solution to the mystery.
Sheryl Munsun died in 1995 of respiratory failure, a few weeks after visiting Tutankhamun’s tomb. Munson didn’t just visit the tomb, she touched the walls and run her fingers across the paint.
Back home, she fell ill. Her immune system, already weakened by a battle with cancer, had become overrun by spores or a toxic fungus — Aspergillus Niger.
Doctors were baffled. Could there be any connection to her recent trip to Egypt? The suspicion wasn’t entirely new.
After Carnarvon’s death, American politicians had ordered an immediate investigation into mummies to see if they posed the same medical threat apparent in the tomb.
Potentially deadly fungus was found on the tomb walls
Arthur Conan Doyle, when not proposing supernatural sources, suggested the curse may be down to the pharaohs deliberately booby trapping their tomb walls with poisons.
Howard Carter, unaware of any potential danger, first noted patches of fungus on walls of the burial chamber in 1923 and experts say such mould and fungus is not uncommon.
“When you think of Egyptian tombs, you have not only dead bodies but foodstuffs — meats, vegetables, and fruits”, said Jennifer Wegner, an Egyptologist at the University of Pennsylvania Museum in Philadelphia.
“It certainly may have attracted insects, molds, and bacteria. The raw material would have been there thousands of years ago”.
Other studies of ancient mummies have shown they too can carry mold and bacteria, two of which — Aspergillus Niger and Aspergillus Flavus, are potentially deadly.
Traces of toxic mold and fungus has been found on Egyptian mummies
These molds can cause allergic reactions ranging from congestion to bleeding in the lungs and are particularly harmful to people, like Carnarvon, with weakened immune systems.
French physician Dr. Caroline Stenger-Philippe, in her doctoral thesis for the Strasbourg School of Medicine in 1985, linked 6 of the Tutankhamun deaths to a severe allergic reaction to the mould.
Stenger-Philippe claimed the victims were stricken with allergic alveolitis, an inflammation of the tiny air chambers in the lungs, and died of pulmonary insufficiency.
Further dangers have been found inside sealed sarcophagi. Ammonia gas, formaldehyde and hydrogen sulfide have all been detected, which in strong enough concentrations can cause burning of the eyes and nose, pneumonia-like symptoms and even death.
Lord Carnarvon was already ill before the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb, injured in a bad car crash the previous year. The next victim — George J Gould, was also already weakened by illness at the time
Did exposure to toxic mold hasten their deaths?
Perhaps a supernatural curse did exist of a fashion — in the minds of its victims. Often ascribed to the invention of journalists, the public imagination in the 1920s was very receptive to the idea of curses.
This was a far more credulous and superstitious time, and tales of horror and dark goings-on in foreign lands were immensely popular. Could it be some of those that died simply believed the curse to be real, and this hastened their deaths?
With the media hype so strong about the ‘curse of the pharaohs’, there is evidence at least some of the deaths were influenced by the belief they had succumbed to it
The idea of ancient curses was in the popular imagination at the time
Evelyn-White’s grisly suicide is the most obvious candidate. A young archeologist who visited the tomb in 1923, he left a note, supposedly written in his own blood, complaining that he was cursed.
Although Evelyn-White had a troubled private life, could the fact he visited Tutankhamun’s burial chamber have made him believe his troubles were caused by the much-vaunted curse?
Another suicide ascribed by some to the curse was Baron Westbury, who jumped from a 7th-floor balcony to his death in 1930. His suicide note complained about ‘the horrors’.
Westbury’s son, Richard Bethel, was the second man to enter the burial chamber, after Carter himself. Just months earlier he had died in strange and violent circumstances.
Did Westbury believe he, too, was doomed and take matters into his own hands?
“Death Shall Come on Swift Wings To Him Who Disturbs the peace of the king”.
Rumours that Carter had found those words inscribed in the burial chamber were never substantiated, and Carter himself always denied it. However, ancient Egyptians did sometimes leave curses in their tombs.
The tomb of Khentika Ikhekhi contains an inscription — “As for all men who shall enter this my tomb… impure… there will be judgment… an end shall be made for him… I shall seize his neck like a bird… I shall cast the fear of myself into him.”
Another Old Kingdom curse reads “Cursed be those who disturb the rest of a Pharaoh. They that shall break the seal of this tomb shall meet death by a disease that no doctor can diagnose.”
Arthur Conan Doyle encouraged talk of a curse
Some mastaba walls in Giza and Saqqara were also inscribed with curses meant to scare off tomb robbers.
Thisinspired Little Women writer Louisa May Alcott to write one of the first mummy’s curse stories, in her long forgotten 1869 book “Lost in a Pyramid, or The Mummy’s Curse”.
1924 – Nellie Tayloe Ross of Wyoming becomes the first female elected as governor in the United States.
1966 – The Arno River floods Florence, Italy, to a maximum depth of 22 ft. leaving
thousands homeless and destroying millions of masterpieces of art and rare
books. Also Venice was submerged on the same day at its record all-time acqua
alta of 76 in.
1973 – The Netherlands experiences the firstCar-Free Sunday caused by the 1973 oil crisis. Highways are used
only by cyclists &roller skaters.
1979 – Iran hostage crisis: A group of Iranian college students overruns
the U.S. embassy in Tehran and takes 90 hostages.
1980 – Ronald Reagan is elected the
40th President of The United States, defeating incumbent Jimmy Carter.
1995 – Israel-Palestinian conflict: Israeli prime minister Yitzhak Rabin is assassinated by an extremist Israeli.
2002 – Chinese authorities arrest
cyber-dissident He Depu for signing
a pro-democracy letter to the 16th Communist Party Congress.
2008 – Barack Obama becomes the first person of biracial or

Forgive
SYLLABICATION: for·give
1. To excuse for a fault or an
offense; pardon.
2. To renounce anger or resentment
against.
3. To absolve from payment of (a debt,

The first three can be used as conventional ways of offering apology. More

“Children begin by loving their
parents; as they grow older they judge them; sometimes they forgive them”
(Oscar Wilde).
Pardon more strongly implies release
from the liability for or penalty entailed by an offense: “After the revolution
all political prisoners were pardoned”.
To excuse is to pass over a mistake or
fault without demanding punishment or redress: “There are some acts of
injustice which no national interest can excuse” (J.A. Froude).
To let go implies a release of
personal attachment which can often be harmful to the one who was wronged if
held on to.

29 October 2019 – “Speaking with the Stars”: Our solar system’s 2 inner planets cozy up near each other in the early evening sky. Tonight, Mercury slides south (lower left) of Venus. You can find the pair with the help of a two-day-old waxing crescent Moon. Bella Luna stands high just after sunset with Venus, Goddess of Love, on Her lower right; Mercury, messenger of the gods & psycho-pomp carrying the souls of the dead across the threshold, directly below our beloved satellite.
The question then becomes: How do we think of Venus & Mercury? When the Copernican revolution brought human thinking into a materialistic modern science, changing from a Geocentric to a Heliocentric model, Mercury & Venus were switched!
It is up to us now in our speaking with the stars to discover the occult reasons for this reversal. Now, as we develop the spiritual science of Astro-Sophy, we must learn to know, & use these planets correctly.
Venus is that sphere which wants to bring about the reintegration & harmonizing of humanity with each other & with the spiritual realm, particularly thru the heart forces of feeling & devotion. In a traditional sense Venus is the planet of love. But how can we see this out of spiritual science? Since the deed of Christ, Venus has become the sphere of the new mysteries.
And what is the essence of the new mysteries? Simply stated: Not I but Christ in me. Or , “there is no greater love than that one lays down one’s life for a friend”. The relation of Venus to the new mysteries comes out of this new transformational deed of love in which the greatest has become the servant to the least.
Willian Blake
Of course there is the other side of Venus in its relation to Lucifer & the illusions of self-love & the semblance & glamour of the light. It is the opposite gesture of the love of Christ, of the master becoming servant.
Mercury is the closest sphere to the Sun & can work, if taken up consciously by human beings, in a Michaelic way to redeem fallen earthly intelligence & re-unite it with the Sun. Mercury weaves between Earth & Sun as a kind of messenger from Sun & stars to Earth, & from Earth to Sun & stars, a glorious loop. It is a planetary sphere that wants humanity to participate in the redemption of intelligence. It is also a sphere that works in the social realm of groups, nations, folk as it is the sphere of the Archangels.
Soon we will have a chance to have a conversation around the Transit of Mercury with the Sun, on the very auspicious occasion of 11/11/19 – when we have an opportunity to ponder the mystery of 11:11, & the connections between, Martinmas, MLK, The Journey of the Soul, Armistice Day, & The laying of the Foundation Stone by Rudolf Steiner. More on that to come…(or join me in Atlanta)

*** Chris Bodame Dear Friends – “Our hearts must become Michael’s helpers in conquering, in taking hold of the intelligence that has fallen from heaven to earth. Just as, in the old traditions, Michael had to trample the serpent underfoot, so now the intelligence of Michael that has become the serpent must be spiritualized. And wherever it surfaces as counter-force — not raised to spirit yet ahrimanized as intellect — we must perceive it in the right way through attentiveness of anthroposophical spirit that has been tempered in the Michaelic stance.”

24 October 2019 – “Speaking with the Stars”: Every Autumn, & especially this evening, check out one of the flashiest stars in the sky – bright Capella twinkling with red & green flashes low in the northeastern sky at nightfall. Capella climbs upward through the night, & this month, soars high overhead in the wee hours before dawn. Capella is in the constellation Auriga the Charioteer, but since antiquity it has carried the name Goat Star.
If you could travel to it in space, you’d find that Capella is really two golden stars, both with roughly the same surface temperature as our local star, the sun … but both larger & brighter than our sun. So here is a golden point of light that flashes red & green when it’s low in the sky. Why does it do that?
The reality is that every star in the sky undergoes the same
process as to produce its colorful twinkling, for every star’s light must shine
through Earth’s atmosphere before reaching our eyes. But not every star flashes
as noticeably as Capella. The atmosphere splits or “refracts” the star’s light,
just as a prism splits sunlight. When you see Capella higher in the sky, you’ll
find that these glints of red & green will disappear.
Feast day of Archangel Raphael, Healing symbol of Mercury. Time Spirit from 850-1190
1260 – Chartres Cathedral is dedicated in the presence of King Louis IX of France
1601 – Death day of Tycho Brahe, Danish astronomer & alchemist. Rudolf Steiner speaks about him here in Karmic Relationships, Volume IV: Lecture VI: “We were tracing the thread of evolution which enters into the spiritual life of the present time, and we left off with the individuality of Julian the Apostate. I told you that this individuality was next incarnated in one who is only known by legendary accounts, whose secret is contained in the Parsifal legend, in the name of Herzeleide. In this life as Herzeleide, the soul of Julian the Apostate entered into a far deeper inner life. The soul-life of the individuality was deepened, as was indeed necessary after the many storms and inner moods of opposition which he had undergone in his life as Julian the Apostate.
But this later life of which I told you — this life as Herzeleide — spread itself out over the former life as Julian the Apostate like a warm embalming cloud. Thus the soul grew more intense and deep and inward, and grew richer, too, in manifold impulses of the inner life.
Now this soul was among those who had carried over something of the ancient Mysteries. Julian had lived within the substance of the ancient Mysteries at a time when their light was still radiant in many ways. Thus he had received into himself much spirituality of the cosmos. All this had been as it were pressed back during the incarnation as Herzeleide; but it was none the less pressing forth in the soul, and thus we find the same individuality again in the 16th century; we find arising in him once more, in a Christianised form, what he had undergone as Julian the Apostate. For the same individuality reappears in the 16th century as Tycho de Brahe, and stands face to face with the Copernican world-conception which emerges within Western civilisation at that time.”
1648 – The Peace of Westphalia is signed, marking the end of the Thirty Years’ War
1911 – Orville Wright remains in the air nine minutes & 45 seconds in a Wright Glider at Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina.
Original Caption: 2/27/1918-Houdini showing how to slip handcuffs.
1926 – Harry Houdini’s last performance takes place at the Garrick Theatre in Detroit. Harry Houdini was born Ehrich Weisz on 24 March 1874 in Budapest, Hungary. The son of a Rabbi, he relocated with his family to America in 1876. By the age of 17 he was known as Harry Houdini & left his family to pursue his career in magic. Booked for a two-week engagement in Detroit at The Garrick Theatre, he arrived in pain, but decided to perform the opening show on October 24th. With much difficulty he performed, but cut the show short & was admitted to Grace Hospital. It had been determined that he had a ruptured appendix. Surgery was not enough to spare Houdini’s life & he died on 31 October 1926 from peritonitis.
1929 – “Black Thursday” stock market crash on the New York Stock Exchange.
1945 – Founding of the United Nations.
1946 – Deathday of Emil Grosheintz – a dentist who had a practice in Basel, was
an early anthroposopher, when the society was still connected to the
theosophical movement. Rudolf Steiner loved him because of his sacrificial &
conscientious work. His professional career as a dentist allowed him to
accompany Steiner on many of his lectures. Like a leitmotiv, his life runs
through the fact that he was always present as a witness in important moments
of anthroposophy.
In 1906, Emil Grosheintz co-founded the Paracelsus branch in Basel. In 1907 he took part in the Munich Congress & became a member of the German section of the Theosophical Society in 1908.
In 1912, during a visit of Rudolf
Steiner to his estate in Dornach, Grosheintz decided to make his land on the Dornach hill available for
the construction of the first Goetheanum, & organized the purchase &
donation of some further eastern plots.
In 1913 he became chairman of the Johannesbauverein. Because of his excellent organizational abilities & his experience, Emil Grosheintz became co-founder of the anthroposophical branch at the Goetheanum on September 12, 1920, & until May 9, 1943, he served as its first chairman &remained honorary chairman until his death
On 24 December 1914, Emil & Nelly Grosheintz-Laval were witnesses at the wedding ceremony of Marie & Rudolf Steiner.
On September 20, 1913, Emil Grosheintz & his wife Nelly Grosheintz-Laval took part in the laying of the foundation stone for the first Goetheanum. In the same year he moved with his wife & the two sons Hansi & Pierre into the Duldeck house designed for him by Rudolf Steiner on the Dornach hill near the Goetheanum.
1975 – In Iceland, 90% of women take part in a national strike, refusing to work in protest of gaps in gender equality.
1980 – The government of Poland legalizes the Solidarity trade union
2008 – “Bloody Friday” saw many of the world’s stock exchanges

“During
the 16th century, in the year 1546, a remarkable man was born of a noble house
of Northern Europe, and in his very cradle, so to speak, everything was laid —
including family wealth — that could have led him to positions of great honour
in the traditional life of that time. Because, in line with his family
traditions, it was intended that he should occupy some eminent political or
other high position, he was marked out for the legal profession and sent with a
tutor to the University of Leipzig to study jurisprudence. The tutor tormented
the boy — for he was still a boy when he was forced to study law — all day
long. But at night, while the tutor was sleeping the sleep of the just and
dreaming of legal theories, the boy stole out of bed and observed the stars
with the very simple instruments he had himself devised. And very soon he knew
not only more than any of the teachers about the secrets of the stars but more
than was to be found at that time in any book. For example, he very soon
noticed a definite position of Saturn and Jupiter in the constellation of Leo,
turned to the books and found that they recorded it quite erroneously. The
longing then arose in him to acquire as exact a knowledge as possible of this
star-script, to record as accurately as possible the course of the stars. No
wonder that in spite of all his family’s resistance he soon extracted the
permission to become a natural philosopher and astronomer, instead of dreaming
his life away over legal books and doctrines. And having considerable means at
his disposal, he was able to set up a whole establishment.
This
was arranged in a remarkable way. In the upper storeys were instruments
designed for observing the secrets of the stars; in the cellars there was
equipment for bringing about different combinations and dissolutions of
substances. And there he worked, dividing his time between observations carried
out on the upper floors of the building and the boiling, fermenting, mixing and
weighing which went on in the cellars below. There he worked, in Order to show,
little by little, how the laws that are written in the stars, the laws of the
planets and fixed stars, the macrocosmic laws, are to be found again
microcosmically in the mathematical numbers underlying the combinations and
dissolutions of substances. And what he discovered as a living connection
between the heavenly and the earthly he applied to the art of medicine,
producing medicaments which were the cause of bitter animosity around him
because he gave them freely to those he wanted to help. The doctors at that
time, intent upon extorting high fees, raged against this man who was accused
of perpetrating all sorts of “horrors” with what he endeavoured to bring down
from the heavens to the earth.
Fortunately,
as the result of a certain happening, he found favour with the Danish King,
Frederick the Second, and as long as he retained this favour, all went well:
tremendous insight was gained into the spiritual working of cosmic laws in the
sense I have just described. This man did indeed know something about the
spiritual course of cosmic laws. He dumbfounded the world with things which
admittedly would no longer find the same credence to-day. On one Occasion, when
he was at Rostock, he prophesied, from the constellation of the stars, the death
of the Sultan Soliman, which came true within a few days of the date he had
foretold. The news of this made the name of Tycho Brahe famous in Europe.
To-day the world at large knows hardly anything more of Tycho Brahe, whose life
lies such a short time behind us, than that he was somewhat of a crank and
never quite reached the lofty standpoint of modern materialism. He recorded a
thousand stars for the first time in the maps of the heavens and also made the
epoch-making discovery of a type of star, the “Nova,” which flares up and
vanishes again, and described it. But these things are mostly passed over in
silence. The world really knows nothing about him except that he was still
“stupid” enough to devise a plan of the cosmos in which the earth stands still
and the sun together with the planets revolve around it. That is what the world
in general knows to-day. The fact that we have to do here with a significant
personality of the 16th century, with one who accomplished an infinite amount
that even to-day is still useful to astronomy, that untold depths of wisdom are
contained in what he gave — none of this is usually recorded, for the simple
reason that in presenting the system in detail, out of his own deep knowledge,
Tycho Brahe saw difficulties which Copernicus did not see. If such a thing dare
be said — for it does indeed seem paradoxical — even with the Copernican cosmic
system the last word has not yet been uttered. And the conflict between the two
Systems will still occupy the minds of a later humanity. — That, however, only
by the way; it is too paradoxical for the present age.
It
was only under the successor of the King who had been well-disposed towards him
that the enemies of Tycho Brahe arose an all sides. They were doctors and
professors at the University of Copenhagen, and they succeeded in inciting the
successor of his patron against him. Tycho Brahe was driven from his fatherland
and was obliged to go south again. It was in Augsburg that he had originally
set up his first great planisphere and the gilded globe on which he always
marked the new stars he discovered — finally amounting to a thousand. This man
was destined to die in exile in Prague. To this very day, if we turn, not to
the usual textbooks, but to the actual sources, and study Kepler, let us say,
we can still see that Kepler was able to arrive at his laws because of the
meticulous astronomical observations made by Tycho Brahe before him. Here
indeed was a personality who again bore the stamp, in a grand style, of what
had been great and significant wisdom before his time; one who could not
reconcile himself to the kind of knowledge that became popular immediately
afterwards in the shape of the materialistic view of the world. Truly it is a
strange destiny, this destiny of Tycho Brahe!
And
now, placing both personal destinies side by side, think how endlessly
instructive it is when we learn from the Akasha Chronicle that the
individuality of Julian the Apostate appears again in Tycho Brahe, that Tycho
Brahe is, so to say, a reincarnation of Julian the Apostate. Thus strangely and
paradoxically does the law of reincarnation take effect when the karmic
connection of the single individual are modified by world-historic karma; when
the cosmic Powers themselves use the human individuality as their instrument.”
