Mars in the Horns of Taurus

Today’s ‘I Think Speech’ podcast

Greetings friends – Today I am thinking about The Notre-Dame de Paris fire, which broke out on 15 April 2019. It is significant to remember we had 2 Easter’s in 2019 – our Easter Paradox – & that this burning happened during the Ecclesiastical Holy Week – between Holy Moon-day, with its cursing of the fig tree, symbol of the old clairvoyance, & the cleansing of the Temple, & Holy Mars-day, Christ’s conflict with the High Priests , & his telling of the ‘Little Apocalypse’ to his disciples (Luke 21)

When I saw these pictures of the Gargoyles of Notre Dame, my 1st thought was that now, upon the burning of the Cathedral, these gruesome protector beings are inscribed on the ethers.

Ayse Domeniconi.

Of course we must remember that this Cathedral is dedicated to Mary, Mother of God, as Our Lady of Paris, as well. Which I wrote about 2 years ago as an imagination of the awakening of the Divine Feminine in the world!

We also have to re-call that at the same time the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem also had a fire, & so I wondered what was being inscribed there?

Herostratus : The Ancient Greek Who Burned Down One of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World (VIDEO)

My friends, it seems to me that these burnings, are the antithesis of what occurred with the burning of the Temple of Ephesus – sacred to the Goddess Artemis…Which also calls to mind the image seen in the burning of the Goetheanum, the Johannasbau inspired by the Templars thru Goethe. These burnings inscribed into the ethers the potent powers of the ancient & the new mysteries, enriching the starry script, furthering & potentizing our true human evolution.

Could it be that this Holy Week burning , on the 1 hand, of an important seat of the Catholic Church, during the time when a Jesuit Pope sits on the Vatican throne, & on the other hand,  the 3rd holiest site in Islam – central to the ongoing Arab-Israeli conflict, is a signal of the materialistic etherization of the spirit? – A fall of something spiritual – leading to the rise of the spirits of darkness, which has come to bear in 2020…?!?

May we be awake to the signs of the times; ever striving to participate in the appearance of the Christ in the etheric realm.

Blessings dear ones & peace ~hag

17 April 2021 – “Speaking with the Stars”: Mars occultation of Bella Luna, look for it at sunset!!!

Thoughts today from Martee Seuss: Mars is positioned between the horns of Taurus close to the Crab Nebula. A picture of Mars replacing the Sun disc in the crown of Isis arises for me when contemplating Buddha, his work, and the huge sacrifice he made for humanity by going to Mars.

Crab Nebula - Wikipedia

Elisabeth Vreede writes a lot about Nebulae in her Year 3 Letters, there is much to contemplate, but what stood out for me, because of the recent Great Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn on Winter Solstice 2020 , and also because I am currently taking the “Agriculture Course” with Harald Hoven, is “So genius works out of chaos as a new spark that springs from the marriage of chaos and cosmos. And so arises all that is new in the world, even new worlds themselves. For the creation of these new worlds science can give only natural causes. But with some justification it relates these to cosmic Nebulae formations. Indeed science even calls some of these “gas nebulae”. – Elisabeth Vreede ( Vreede speaks of the word gas arising from the word chaos earlier).

On October 9, 1604, one year after the Jupiter/Saturn Conjunction of 1603, Elisabeth Vreede says “another new star was discovered, this time in the Serpent Bearer (Ophiuchus- I imagine as Eagle -the higher form of Scorpio -Spirit-Self) between Scorpio and Sagittarius. This was the Mars region of the zodiac, where that planet stood, not far from where Jupiter and Saturn were located. “ Vreede goes on to say “ It is the same critical moment in world history – of which Rudolf Steiner has spoken- when at the request of Christian Rosenkreutz, the Buddha left the aura of the Earth to go to Mars.”

The Buddha meets Christ in embrace

Rudolf Steiner said: “It is a remarkable discovery of spiritual investigation to find the most penetrating and significant thoughts conceived in our present age originated with Guatama Buddha… from higher worlds he sends down forces , inspiring all those cultural leaders who are not yet permeated by the Christ Impulse.”-Rudolf Steiner GA 130

In Buddha’s teaching of compassion and Love, we discover a heightening of goodness of heart into Wisdom …in our soul we may begin to sense how intrinsically the spiritual being of the Buddha has become a part of Anthroposophia and of the whole of her being.”- Rudolf Grosse “The Living Being Anthroposophia” page 27.

Buddha’s journey began close to Ophiuchus andantes this time has arrived between the horns of Taurus. So I can also imagine the mighty words from the Foundation Stone Meditation:

Isis Painting by Olga Zelinskaya | Saatchi Art

In “ Isis Mary Sophia- Her Mission and Ours” Rudolf Steiner states “We have seen how we live in an age of abstractions, when human words and concepts have only an abstract meaning, when human beings stand far away from reality. The power of the Word, the power of the Logos must be recaptured. The cow’s horns of the ancient Isis must take on quite a different form

collage from ‘The New Isis Myth’

He goes on to say “ It is very important for the new Isis to transform the cow horns through the power of the Word which is to be regained through spiritual science, so that the paper crown, covered with writing in the new deeply profound scientific vein ,will become a genuine golden crown.”

And about the New Isis Mary Sophia , Christopher Bamford writes in the forward of the book “But her clairvoyance continues to grow and with its help she begins to understand the meaning of the “Word”or “Logos”, taught by St John in the Prologue to his Gospel. And, as she begins to understand the meaning of the Logos, her paper crown turns to gold. Scientific abstraction becomes living reality. Sophia becomes “alive”. “ This brings to mind What Rudolf Steiner wrote in the “Legend of the New Isis”: “Isis Sophia Wisdom of God. Call to new life in Human Souls!”

The Holy Spirit Painting by American School

While the Sun is in the last day of Pisces and Mars is between the horns of Taurus in the realm of Holy Spirit, can we permeate our Wisdom with Goodness of Heart and through the power of the Word bring about the redemption of the Gold while striving towards the Eagle -Spirit Self? If you are willing and able take a peek at Mars tonight right after Sunset.

Magical Devices

The waxing Grail Moon is positioned right beneath Mars still in Taurus (Holy Spirit) and where Venus is the ruling planet. In my Imagination I see it as the Grail Cup, rising up to hold the precious “New Wisdom”, emanating from Buddha along with the redeemed Gold.

Rudolf Steiner’s Lectures on this day

“Our ancestors required a different event that was connected to the time when the sun reaches its zenith. When everything in nature was budding and blossoming, they experienced an ecstasy that reaffirmed for them the existence of the spiritual world. What they experienced then at St. John’s Tide we now have to experience in the spring, at Easter. We have to be able to celebrate the awakening of the soul, the resurrection of the soul, when spiritual science speaks to us not merely as a theory, but as living knowledge”. ~Rudolf Steiner, The Presence of the Dead on the Spiritual Path, April 17, 1914

ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY

485 – Death-Day of Proclus – dubbed ‘The Successor’ – a Greek Neoplatonist philosopher. He studyed mathematics & the works of Aristotle under Olympiodorus the Elder. As a gifted student, he eventually became dissatisfied with the level of philosophical instruction available in Alexandria, & went to Athens, the pre-eminent philosophical center of the day, to study at the Neoplatonic successor of the famous Academy founded 800 years earlier (in 387 BC) by Plato; there he was taught by Plutarch of Athens, Syrianus, & Asclepigenia; he succeeded Syrianus as head of the Academy, & would in turn be succeeded on his death by Marinus of Neapolis.

He lived in Athens as a vegetarian bachelor, prosperous & generous to his friends, until the end of his life. He was not appreciated by the Christian rulers; he spent time traveling & being initiated into various mystery cults. He was also instructed in the “theurgic” Neoplatonism, as derived from the Orphic & Chaldean Oracles.

His house has been discovered recently in Athens, under the pavement of Dionysiou Areopagitou Street, south of Acropolis, opposite the theater of Dionysus. He had a great devotion to the Goddess Athena, whom he believed guided him at key moments in his life. Marinus reports that when Christians removed the statue of the Goddess from the Parthenon, a beautiful woman appeared to Proclus in a dream & announced that the “Athenian Lady” wished to stay at his home. Proclus died aged 73, & was buried near Mount Lycabettus in a tomb. It is reported that he was writing 700 lines each day.

1622 – Birthday of Thomas Vaughn, a Welsh philosopher, famous for his writings in the area of natural magic, with his book Anthroposophia Theomagica, a magico-mystical work.  (Some say Rudolf Steiner got his idea for to name the AS from this treatise)

Although he did not practice medicine, Vaughan sought to apply his chemical skills to preparing medicines in the manner recommended by Paracelsus. Vaughan was also the author of tracts published under the pseudonym Eugenius Philalethes.

Vaughan was unusual amongst alchemists of the time in that he worked closely with his wife Rebecca Vaughan. He was a self-described member of the “Society of Unknown Philosophers”, & was responsible for translating into English in 1652 the Fama Fraternitatis Rosae Crucis, an anonymous Rosicrucian manifesto first published in 1614 in Kassel.

He placed himself in the tradition of the Rosicrucian reformers of education, &of Johannes Trithemius, his teacher Libanius Gallus, and Pelagius of Majorca.

1787 – Goethe’s experience of the archetypal plant in Palermo – “Goethe narrates a conversation that once ensued between Schiller and himself after they had both attended a meeting of the Society for Nature Research in Jena. Schiller was dissatisfied with the results of the meeting. He had found there a most disintegrating method for the study of Nature and he remarked that such a method could never appeal to a layman. Goethe replied that “possibly this method was cumbersome for the initiated also and that there might well exist yet another way of portraying Nature active and living, struggling from the whole into the parts, and not severed and isolated.” And then Goethe evolved the great ideas which had arisen within him concerning the nature of plants. He drew “with many characteristic strokes, a symbolic plant” before Schiller’s eyes. This symbolic plant was intended to give expression to the essential being lying in every single plant, whatever particular form it assumes. It was intended to demonstrate the successive development of the single portions of the plant, their emergence from each other and their mutual relationship. In Palermo, 17th April, 1787, Goethe wrote these words in reference to this symbolic plant form: “There must be such a thing; if not, how could I recognise this or that structure to be a plant if all were not moulded after one pattern?” Goethe had evolved in himself the conception of a plastic, ideal form that was revealed to his spirit when he surveyed the diversity of the plant forms and observed the element common to them all.” Rudolf Steiner Goethe’s Conception of the World: Chapter I: Goethe and Schiller

1790 – Death-Day of Benjamin Franklin, one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. Franklin was a renowned polymath & a leading author, printer, political theorist, politician, freemason, postmaster, scientist, inventor, civic activist, statesman, & diplomat. As a scientist, he was a major figure in the American Enlightenment & the history of physics for his discoveries & theories regarding electricity. As an inventor, he is known for the lightning rod, bifocals, & the Franklin stove, among other inventions. He facilitated many civic organizations, including Philadelphia’s fire department & the University of Pennsylvania, an Ivy League institution.

Benjamin Franklin, then 21, created the Junto, a group of “like minded aspiring artisans and tradesmen who hoped to improve themselves while they improved their community.” The Junto was a discussion group for issues of the day; it was modeled after English coffeehouses that Franklin knew well, & which became the center of the spread of Enlightenment ideas in Britain.

Franklin became Grand Master of the Freemasons & published the first Masonic book in the Americas, a reprint of James Anderson’s Constitutions of the Free-Masons. Franklin remained a Freemason for the rest of his life

Franklin earned the title of “The First American” for his early & indefatigable campaigning for colonial unity, initially as an author & spokesman in London for several colonies. As the first United States Ambassador to France, he exemplified the emerging American nation. Franklin was foundational in defining the American ethos as a marriage of the practical values of thrift, hard work, education, community spirit, self-governing institutions, & opposition to authoritarianism both political & religious, with the scientific & tolerant values of the Enlightenment

Franklin became a successful newspaper editor & printer in Philadelphia, the leading city in the colonies, publishing the Pennsylvania Gazette at the age of 23. He became wealthy publishing this & Poor Richard’s Almanack, which he authored under the pseudonym “Richard Saunders”. After 1767, he was associated with the Pennsylvania Chronicle, a newspaper that was known for its revolutionary sentiments & criticisms of the British policies.

He pioneered & was 1st president of The Academy & College of Philadelphia which opened in 1751 & later became the University of Pennsylvania. He organized & was the first secretary of the American Philosophical Society & was elected president in 1769. Franklin became a national hero in America as an agent for several colonies when he spearheaded an effort in London to have the Parliament of Great Britain repeal the unpopular Stamp Act. An accomplished diplomat, he was widely admired among the French as American minister to Paris & was a major figure in the development of positive Franco-American relations. His efforts proved vital for the American Revolution in securing shipments of crucial munitions from France.

He was promoted to deputy postmaster-general for the British colonies in 1753, having been Philadelphia postmaster for many years,& this enabled him to set up the first national communications network. During the Revolution, he became the first US Postmaster General. He was active in community affairs & colonial & state politics, as well as national & international affairs. From 1785 to 1788, he served as governor of Pennsylvania. He argued against slavery from an economic perspective & became one of the most prominent abolitionists.

His colorful life and legacy of scientific and political achievement, & his status as one of America’s most influential Founding Fathers have seen Franklin honored more than two centuries after his death the $100 bill.

1961 – Bay of Pigs Invasion: A group of Cuban exiles financed & trained by the CIA lands at the Bay of Pigs in Cuba with the aim of ousting Fidel Castro.

Calendar of the Soul – Luigi Morelli : For those who are familiar with the Calendar of the Soul we could say that during spring and summer we follow the ascent of cosmic life, cosmic light, cosmic warmth and cosmic Word as gifts bestowed upon the human being by the cosmos. By being receptive to them we strengthen our connection to cosmos and Self.

We will briefly explore the dynamics of the year, then look at what qualities of soul we need to develop as we move into spring and summer, most particularly from Easter to Ascension and Whitsun. We will look at the verses of the calendar in conjunction with the artistic renditions of Anne Stockton and Karl König, drawn for each of the verses.

We will ask ourselves: How can we live into and grow from this time of the year? How can we deepen our inner relationship to the event of Ascension? What can we receive and what can we give?

Luigi Morelli – Cultures have been a great part of my upbringing, since I’m American born, part Italian, part Peruvian, mostly grew up in Belgium, and have lived the longest in the US. I have long had a passion for social change from a cultural perspective. Professionally this has brought me to working with the developmentally disabled in the intentional, holistic, communities of Camphill International and L’Arche International, and also in the mainstream. Being a founding member of the Wavecrest L’Arche Community in Los Angeles was a memorable experience. I have lived in intentional cohousing for the last ten years; first in Ecovillage Ithaca, now at Headwaters Cohousing in Cabot, in both places actively involved in community building and process facilitation.

Since 1999 I have found a vocation in researching/writing both about American history and/or about cultural/spiritual change, which you can find at www.millenniumculmination.net. Only of late have I started writing on meditative material I have used for years, publishing an essay on the Foundation Stone Meditation (also onsite) and one upcoming on the Calendar of the Soul. I love outdoors in many forms, gardening, hiking, skiing, love singing and playing flute, and enjoy most kinds of social events.

Dear Friends, In exploring the teachings of Christ between the Resurrection & Ascension I came across this: “Now the Christ taught his initiates that he came from a world where death was unknown; he learnt to know death, here on earth, and conquered death. If one understands this connection between the earthly world and the divine world, it will be possible to lead the intellect back gain into spirituality.

Dick Cheney, Judas and The Etheric Christ (part II)” by Bradford Riley | Rileybrad's Blog

We might express approximately in this way the content of the esoteric teachings given by the Christ to his initiated disciples: it was the teaching of death, as seen from the scene of the divine world. If one wishes to penetrate into the real depths of this esoteric teaching, one must realize that he who understands the entire evolution of mankind knows that the gods have overcome Ahriman by using his forces for the benefit of the Earth, but his power has been broken because the gods themselves learnt to know death in the being of Christ.

The Connection between Epidemics, the Souls of the Dead, and the Spiritual World' with Hazel Archer-Ginsberg www.ReverseRit

Indeed, the gods have placed Ahriman into the evolution of the earth, but, in making use of him, they have forced him to come down into the evolution of the earth without completing his own rulership. He who learns to know Ahriman since the Mystery of Golgotha and he who knew him before, knows that Ahriman has waited for the world-historic moment in which he will not only invade the unconscious and subconscious in man, as in the case since the days of Atlantis (you know this through my “Occult Science”), but will invade also man’s consciousness. If we apply human expressions to the willing of gods, we might say that Ahriman has waited with longing for the moment in which to invade human consciousness with his power.

Rudolf Steiner: Inner Impulses Of Evolution(2) Lucifer and Ahriman's Inf... | Rudolf steiner, Lucifer, Bring happiness
Curt Winston

His purpose was thwarted because he knew nothing of the divine plan whereby a being — the Christ — was to be sent to the Earth, a being who underwent death. Thus the intervention of Ahriman was possible, but the sharp edge was taken off his rule. Since then, Ahriman uses every opportunity to encourage men in the exclusive use of the intellect. Ahriman has not lost all hope today that he will succeed in inducing men to use only their intellect. What would this imply? If Ahriman would succeed in convincing men against all other convictions that man can live only in his body and that, as a spirit-soul being, he cannot be separated from his body, the idea of death would seize the souls so strongly that Ahriman would be able to realize his plans quite easily. Ahriman hopes for this always…In the predominant sway of materialism Ahriman could cherish new hopes for his rule over the earth. In this time even theology becomes materialistic. This gave new hopes to Ahriman.

FIELD TO FRAGRANCE® | Bible pictures, Bible art, Biblical art

According to Dr. Steiner TODAY is the birthday of Aaron = mountain of strength, illuminator – born in Egypt three years before his brother Moses, & after his sister Miriam.

When the time for the Exodus out of Egypt came, Aaron was the “mouth” or “prophet” of Moses, because he was gifted speaker.

When Moses ascended the mountain to receive the Ten Commandments, Aaron was permitted to accompany him part of the way, & to behold the manifestation in the burning bush.

Later the chiefs of the tribes were each required to bring Moses a rod bearing the name of his tribe. These were laid overnight in the tabernacle, & in the morning it was found that Aaron’s rod “for the house of Levi” budded, blossomed, & yielded almonds. Aaron was able to turn that rod into a snake to try & persuade the Pharaoh to ‘Let the people go’.

Aaron was considered a type of Christ figure in his official character as the 1st high priest, & was intended to lead the people of Israel to look forward to the time when “another priest” would arise “after the order of Melchizedek” (Hebrews 6:20).

40 days

Theurgy..or in particular: Esoteric Christian Theurgy 101 | Blue Ray Paintings – the creation vortex

Esoteric Christianity is the living schooling of the Risen Christ, which for us today is looking to be applied in the Resurrection not just of our physical body, but of our thinking. Dead thoughts must be awakened to life in the form of moral impulses.

During the 40 days between the Resurrection & the Ascension, Christ, living on Earth now in his etheric body, taught many things to his disciples. Some of these esoteric teachings can be found in the Gnostic Gospels, especially the ‘Pistis Sophia’- Occult views into cosmology, & many extensive dialogues between the Risen Christ & Mary-Sophia.

Christian Theology in Esoteric Contexts – Curious Christian

Rudolf Steiner reveals many levels of communication here. For instance, when the Christ spoke in parables, he used a picture language, like that of the Buddha, which everyone could understand. Then, when alone with his disciples, Christ explained these parables in a language similar to that of Socrates, appropriate for those who had developed a sufficient intellectual culture to understand it.

The Gnostic writings come out of a culture of people steeped in an atavistic clairvoyance, an instinctive wisdom, which was a gift of the gods. This ancient Pagan wisdom has grown dissolute. Then, Rudolf Steiner took the greatest Mystery of All Time, to the next level; into the Consciousness Soul, which will extend into the 43rd Century. Which means that with our willingness to work actively with Spiritual Science, the relevance of Anthroposophy will continue to grow for at least another 2,000 years.

So here we are friends, at this strange juncture in world history. Yet ever held by the cycle of the seasons with its Festival milestones; a sacred landing where we can stand upright in our true place in the universe.

So as the Easter-Tide continues, I feel a calling to be open to, & live into, the esoteric teachings of the Risen Christ – Working to digest the truth of the Resurrection into my physical body – Moving like the clouds, toward the Ascension, enlivening my etheric body. Preparing & purifying my astral body to receive the Holy Spirit; tongues of fire resting on my head, enlightening my heart to live into the great mission, & to be ever more worthy to serve AnthropoSophia, in a perpetual communal Pentecost.

15 April 2021 – “Speaking with the Stars”: The waxing crescent Moon shines near Aldebaran and the Pleiades.  This week both Mars and Bella Luna pass upward between the horntip stars of Taurus. If you have been reading the starry script, have you seen the name Parzival written in the crescent moon?

Rudolf Steiner’s Lectures on this day

ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY

The Day of Archangel Raphael

1452 – The Birthday of Leonardo da Vinci

What is inscribed in the Akasha Chronicle between the earth and the moon is of special importance because it is there that among other things all imperfections are recorded. It should be realized that the inscribing of these imperfections is governed by the view that every record there is of significance for the individual’s own evolution, either furthering or hindering his progress. Because it is there inscribed in the Akasha Chronicle between earth and moon, it also becomes significant for the evolution of the earth as a whole. The imperfections of really great men are also recorded in that sphere. One example of tremendous interest for clairvoyant observation is Leonardo da Vinci. He is a spirit of greatness and universality equaled by few others on earth, but compared with what he intended, his actual achievements in the external world in many respects remained incomplete. As a matter of fact, no man of similar eminence left as much uncompleted as Leonardo da Vinci. The consequence of this was that a colossal amount was inscribed by him in the Moon sphere, so much indeed that one is often bound to exclaim, “How could all that is inscribed there possibly have reached perfection on the earth!”

At this point I want to tell you of something that seemed to me quite significant when I was studying Leonardo da Vinci. I was to give a lecture about him in Berlin and a particular observation made in connection with him seemed to be extremely important. It fills one with sadness today to see on the wall of the Church of Santa Maria della Grazie in Milan the rapidly disappearing colors that now convey no more than a faint shadow of what the picture once was. If we remember that Leonardo took sixteen years to paint this picture, and think of how he painted it, we gain a definite impression. It is known that he would often go away for a long time. Then he would return to the picture, sit in front of it or many hours, make a few strokes with the brush and go off again. It is also known that many times he felt unable to express what he wished in the painting and suffered terrible fits of depression on this account. Now it happened that a new prior was appointed to the monastery at a time when Leonardo had already been working at the picture for many years. This prior was a pedantic and strict disciplinarian with little understanding of art. He asked impatiently why the painter could not finish the picture, reproached him for it and also complained to Duke Ludovico. The Duke repeated the complaint to Leonardo and he answered, “I do not know whether I shall ever be able to complete this picture. I have prototypes in life for all the figures except those of Judas and Christ. For them I have no models, although in the case of Judas, if no model turns up I can always take the prior. But for the Christ I have no prototype.” That, however, is digressing.

What I want to say is that when one looks today at the figure of Judas in the picture that has almost completely faded, a shadow is to be seen on this figure, a shadow that cannot be explained in any way, either by the instreaming light or by anything else. Occult investigation finds that the painting was never as Leonardo da Vinci really wanted it to be. With the exception of the figures of Judas and the Christ he wanted to portray everything through light and shadow, but Judas was to be portrayed in such a way as to give the impression that darkness dominated the countenance from within. This was not intended to be conveyed by external contrasts of light and shadows. In the figure of Christ the impression was to be that the light on His countenance was shining from within, radiating outwards from within. But at this point disharmony beset Leonardo’s inner life, and the effect he desired was never produced. This affords a clue when one is observing the many remaining inscriptions made by Leonardo in the Moon sphere. It is an example of something that could not be brought to fulfillment in the earth sphere.

When the period following that of Leonardo da Vinci is investigated, it is found that Leonardo continued to work through a number of those who lived after him. Even externally there can be found in Leonardo’s writings things that later on were demonstrated by scientists and also by artists. In fact, the whole subsequent period was under his influence. It is then discovered that the inscribed imperfections worked as inspirations into the souls of Leonardo’s successors, into the souls of men who lived after him.

The imperfections of an earlier epoch are still more important for the following epoch than its perfections. The perfections are there to be studied, but what has been elaborated to a certain degree of perfection on the earth has, as it were, reached an end, has come to a conclusion in evolution. What has not been perfected is the seed of the following divine evolutionary process. Here we come to a remarkable, magnificent paradox. The greatest blessing for a subsequent period is the fruitful imperfection, the fruitful, justifiable imperfection of an earlier period. What has been perfected in an earlier epoch is there to be enjoyed. Imperfection, however, imperfection originating in great men whose influences have remained for posterity, helps to promote creative activity in the following period. Hence, there is obviously tremendous wisdom in the fact that imperfections remain in the neighborhood of the earth, inscribed in the records of the Akasha Chronicle between earth and moon.

This brings us to the point where we can begin to understand the principle that perfection signifies for the different epochs the end of a stream of evolution, and imperfection, the beginning of an evolutionary stream. For imperfection in this sense men should actually be thankful to the gods.” ~Rudolf Steiner Life Between Death and Rebirth Man’s Journey through the Cosmic Spheres after Death

Judah Maccabee | Jewish art, Rare books, Artist

Judah Maccabee by Arthur Szyk

“Among the five sons of Mattathias is one who is already called Judas in the Old Testament. He was the one who at that time fought more bravely than all the others for his own people. In his whole soul he was dedicated to his people, and it was he who was successful in forming an alliance with the Romans against King Antiochus of Syria (I Maccabees, Chap. 8). This Judas (Maccabeus =The Hammer) is the same who later had to undergo the test of the betrayal, because he who was most intimately bound up with the old specifically Hebrew element, could not at once find the transition into the Christian element, needing the severe testing of the betrayal. Again, if we look at the purely artistic aspect, how wonderfully do the two figures stand out: the grand figure of the Judas in the last chapters of the Old Testament and the Judas of the New Testament. It is remarkable that in this symptomatic process, the Judas of the Old Testament concluded an alliance with the Romans, prefiguring all that happened later, namely the path that Christianity took through the Roman Empire, so that it could enter into the world. If I could add to this something that can also be known but that cannot be given in a lecture to an audience as large as this, you would see that it was precisely through a later reincarnation of Judas that the fusion of the Roman with the Christian element occurred. The reincarnated Judas was the first who, as we might say, had the great success of spreading Romanized Christianity in the world. The treaty concluded by the Judas of the Old Testament with the Romans was the prophetic foreshadowing of what was later accomplished by another man, who is recognized by occultists as the reincarnation of that Judas who had to go through the severe soul-testing of the betrayal. What through his later influence appears as Christianity within Romanism and Romanism within Christianity is like a renewal of the alliance concluded between the Old Testament Judas and the Romans, but transferred into the spiritual.” ~Rudolf Steiner, Gospel of Mark: Lecture 2

Skip the line during this 3 hours tour of Milan and see Leonardo da Vinci's 'The Last Supper' and 'Duomo Cathedral' the symbol of Milan. Then, take a walking tour of the city to see the best attractions of Milan......Duomo Square, La Scala Theatre, Affari Square ...

If we let his “Last Supper” work on us, we find two things of which we can say that they do not altogether agree with Leonardo’s view of the principles of painting. One is the figure of Judas. From the reproductions and also to a certain extent from the shadowy painting in Milan, one gets the impression that Judas is quite covered in shadow — he is quite dark. Now when we study how the light falls from the different sides, and how with regard to the other eleven disciples the lighting conditions are represented in the most wonderful manner in accordance with reality, nothing really explains the darkness on the face of Judas. Art can give us no answer as to the wherefore of this darkness. This is fairly clear as regards the Judas figure. If we now turn to the Christ Figure, approaching it not according to Spiritual Science but according to the external view, it only produces, as it were, something like a suggestion. Just as little as the blackness, the darkness of the Judas figure seems justifiable, just as little does the “sunniness” of the Christ Figure, standing out as it does from the other figures, seem to be justified, in this sense. We can understand the lighting of all the other countenances but not that of Judas nor that of Christ Jesus. Then, as if of itself, the idea comes into one’s mind: surely the painter has striven to make evident that in these two opposites, Jesus and Judas, light and darkness proceed not from outside but from within. He probably wished to make us realize that the light on the face of the Christ cannot be explained by the outer conditions of light, and yet we can believe that the Soul behind this Countenance is itself a light force, so that It can shine of Itself, in spite of the lighting conditions. In the same way the impression with respect to Judas, is, that this form itself conjures up a shadow which is not explained by the shadows around it.

This is, as already said, a hypothesis of Spiritual Science, but one that has developed in me in the course of many years and we may believe that the more we considered the problem the more we would find it substantiated. According to this hypothesis one can understand how Leonardo, who strove to be true to nature in all his work and study, worked with trembling brush to present a problem that could only be justified with respect to this one figure. We can then understand that he might well be bitterly disappointed, indubitably so, because it was impossible by means of the then existing art to bring this problem to expression with complete truthfulness and probability. Because he could not yet do what he wanted, he finally despaired of the possibility of its execution and had to leave a picture behind him which still did not satisfy him, and the question as to the feelings with which Leonardo left his picture can be answered in full accord with the whole figure and spiritual greatness of Leonardo. He left it with a feeling of bitterness, realizing that in his most important work he had set himself a task, the execution of which could never be satisfactory with the means available to man. If in the centuries to come no eye will see the picture Leonardo had conjured on to the wall at Milan — that, in any case, was certainly not what lived in his soul. If we picture him thus before his most important creation, we are indeed tempted to ask: What secret really lay behind this figure?”

“…We see very little of Leonardo by looking at his external creations; we get the idea that this soul has still to carry out something in a super-sensible existence and we say to ourselves: Oh! We understand! In order that this soul, in the whole course of its collective existence, which runs through many earth lives, could always reveal something to mankind, it had in its Leonardo existence to pass through a life in which it was only able to bring to expression the very smallest part of what lived within it. Such souls as Leonardo are world riddles and life riddles — world riddles incarnate… Leonardo’s greatness only becomes evident to us when we get an inkling of what he could NOT accomplish. ~RS, Leonardo da Vinci – His Spiritual and Intellectual Greatness At the Turning Point of the New Age

“When we ourselves penetrate into the spiritual worlds and come to know something about the life there, we encounter conditions altogether different from those prevailing in physical life on earth. That is why it is so very difficult to describe these conditions in terms of human words and human thoughts. Any attempt to speak concretely about them often seems paradoxical.

To take one example only, I am able to tell you of a human soul after death together with whom it was possible — because of his special knowledge — to make certain discoveries in the spiritual world about the great painter Leonardo da Vinci, particularly about his famous picture of the Last Supper, in Milan. When one investigates a spiritual fact in association with such a soul, this soul is able to indicate many things which ordinary clairvoyance might not otherwise have found in the Akasha Chronicle. The soul in the spiritual world is able to point them out, but can do so only if there is some understanding of what this soul is trying to convey. Something very noteworthy then comes to light.

Suppose that in company with such a soul one is investigating how Leonardo da Vinci created his famous picture. Today the picture is hardly more than a few patches of colour. But in the Akasha Chronicle one can watch Leonardo as he painted, one can see what the picture was once like — although this is not an easy thing to do. When the investigation is carried on in company with a soul who is not incarnate but has some connection with Leonardo da Vinci and his painting, one perceives that this soul is showing one certain things — for example, the faces of Christ and of Judas as they actually were in the picture. But one perceives, too, that the soul could not reveal this unless at the moment when it is being revealed there is understanding in the soul of the living investigator. This is a sine qua non. And only at the moment when the soul of the living investigator is receptive to what is being disclosed does the discarnate soul itself learn to understand what is otherwise merely vision. To speak figuratively. — After something has been experienced together with such a soul — something that can be experienced only in the way described — this soul says to one: You have brought me to the picture and I feel the urge to look at it with you. (The soul of the dead says this to the living investigator because of the latter’s desire to investigate the picture.) Numerous experiences then arise. But a moment comes when the discarnate soul is either suddenly absent or says that it must depart. In the case of which I have just told you, the discarnate soul said: Up to now the soul of Leonardo da Vinci regarded with approval what was being done, but does not now desire the investigation to continue.” ~Rudolf Steiner, Links Between the Living and the Dead

The Harmony of the Spheres. INTRODUCTION | by KillYesterday | Medium

LOVE-HARMONY-COMETS on ‘I Think Speech’

Greetings friends on this ‘Tune-in Tuesday‘ – In our 6 BE practice group we have just begun working with ‘Harmony‘ – the 6th & last of the Basic Protective exercise’s. When I think of harmony, I imagine the harmony of the spheres – How the spiritual beings of the fixed & wandering stars revolving in a sacred geometry, maintain the balance of life in the universe – The choirs of angels creating the perfect harmony to sing us into existence – And how by thoroughly working with the 6 Essential Exercise’s, given to us thru Rudolf Steiner, we can begin to become human creators of harmony, following the example of The Cherubim, the Spirits of Harmony, working from the 1st & highest Hierarchy. To get there we must 1st cultivate:

  •  The capacity for concentration and the focusing of thought.
  • The second exercise is about disciplining the will, so that it becomes an expression of intention.
  • The third is about equanimity or the capacity to remain balanced and calm rather than reactive when met with the unfamiliar.
  • The fourth is the exercise of positivity which is the foundation of trust for the future.
  • The fifth, open mind and open heart, is a preparation for overcoming the natural tendency to judge everything from the framework of sympathies and antipathies.
  • The sixth and final exercise is the integration of all the previous five, which leads to a quality of inner harmony.
The Nine Choirs of Angels | Living in the Presence of the Angels blog

According to Spiritual Science the highest aspect of the human “I”, our highest- Self, originates beyond the zodiac – In the 1st hierarchy where the Seraphim & Cherubim, the Spirits of Love & the Spirits of Harmony, remain in the unveiled presence of the Most Holy Trinity. So here in this liminal space beyond time & place is the archetype of Love & Harmony – a role-model for us here on Earth.

Comet Hunters | National Library of Australia

And what’s interesting to me is that comets, whose job it is to shake up the harmony with a little dissonance, a much needed sharp or flat – introducing a health giving X factor into the mix, are also governed by the Cherubim & Seraphim – That comets are actually sent by them into our solar system on a “god-willed mission”! The task of the harmony challenging comet is to purify the astral realm & to bring a special conscious impulse into human evolution.

Comet, from Augsburg Book of Miraculous Signs | kinneretstern

So if comets are on a “god-willed mission” sent by the Cherubim & Seraphim, what is this mission? And why is it that a mission sent by the Spirits of Love & Harmony, is often regarded as something to be feared? This seems paradoxical, that love & harmony can send apocalyptic fear & world disruption into humanity…To give perspective to this enigma, we have to remember that the word apocalypse means revelation.

Flowers of the Sky – The Public Domain Review

And so it is that Comets bring revelation – a new impulse of change – a sea change, or I guess we could call it a key change, in the harmony of the spheres of which we are a part. And yes, often impulses for spiritual progress & evolution incite fear & foreboding, & are often fiercely opposed – stirring up the adversarial beings within us who want us to stay stuck..

Astrosopher Elisabeth Vreede tells us that comets encounter the Earth at just the right times to open great possibilities in the spiritual life of humanity! “They are dispatched directly by the Seraphim and Cherubim into the physical world of existence in order to effect quite definite impulses – Something of an elemental nature, that stirs up what is necessary in order to rightly maintain the progress of evolution in the cosmos — that is the nature of the comet.

Polymath Rudolf Steiner even says the appearance of a comet enables spiritual organs to be developed in our physical & etheric bodies, to assist us in the development of new faculties for the progressing ego. New physical-etheric organs! Right?!? This is what the 6BE are all about.

Halley's comet, 19th Century artwork Photograph by Science Photo Library

Looking back we see that for Halley’s comet, these were organs to facilitate the development of the consciousness soul.

Comet ATLAS may put on quite a show

Now, maybe you remember The Swan, Atlas & Panstarrs comets? They came in right at the time of the corona virus. hmmmm…Dear friends, I believe the Spirits of Love & harmony sent them to us so we could develop towards a new heart-thinking-clairvoyance, as a progression from the age of the consciousness soul towards the unveiling of the Spirit-Self, a purification of our astral body, our fears & desires, to help us move forward in our evolution out of the materialistic age.

How to draw Coronavirus drawing - Two sides of a story - covid 19 on nature poster painting - YouTube

And of course, we must also be aware that a powerful cosmic  deed such as this, a great light, creates a great shadow, giving rise to great opposition, & a strong desire to preserve the past – to hold back evolution towards its true goals – in this case the corona virus. Every key change, or transition is accompanied by struggle, tribulation, catharsis, even death in some form. For what is catharsis but the painful death of the old in us-& in the world, in order to make way for a new harmony to be born.Catharsis is as old as initiation itself & a necessary part of it. The old self must die in order for the new higher self to be born. This is the path of spiritual development, the transformation of the lower astral nature into the pure vessel for the birth of the Holy Spirit in us. It is the path of “not I, but Christ in me”. It is the initiation into the New Mysteries.

New Jerusalem Revealed Painting by Alexander Sorsher
Alaxander Shorshur

Looking at the question of the “purpose” of the corona – we can see it as an earthly shadow or counterforce to the blazing light of the powerful cosmic configurations, & the comets sent by the gods, to bring us to a new level of consciousness, helping to create spiritual organs that are suited to the progressive evolution of the ego.

The New Jerusalem | Sketch

Friends we must remember that a movement forward into a new evolutionary step is not predetermined, nothing is guaranteed, it is up to us, it’s all in how we as human beings meet these events.

New Heaven New Earth Pastel by Ann Lukesh
Ann Lukesh

Will the opposing forces of the past, of the old power structures, old ways of thinking, old social forms, resist what needs to come? Hell yes, there is no question of resistance – look around- We are at the beginning of a long, pronounced battle – a global catharsis -as well as a coronation initiation opportunity for humanity.

New Jerusalem – Art & Theology
Bryon Little

My thinking is that the planetary events during this time, the current comets, & the plandemic are all first stages in a great transition which Spiritual Science describes as a necessary condition in order to maintain Love & Harmony, in the progress of evolution for the cosmos, & to lead humanity into the 6th Cultural Age, where thru the purified Astral we achieve what Anthroposophy calls the Spirit-Self – where we will directly experience the joys & sorrows of every other human being, so that we as individuals cannot be content if even one person in the entire world is suffering. Another prefiguring lesson from the Corona.

7P/Pons-Winnecke (2021)

I bring all this up now because COMET PONS-WINNECKE has recently entered the scene, although it was 1st detected, no surprise, in early January 2020, at the start of the corona crisis, but it will reach Perihelion, the point in its orbit when it is closest to the Sun on May 27, 2021, just after Pentecost & the day after the total lunar eclipse on the Full Moon of May which commemorates the birth, enlightenment & death of Gautama Buddha, known as The Wesak Festival, considered to be the greatest moment of spiritual contact for the entire year  – Just a heads up folks, because again, the spiritual world is doing their part & it’s up to us to take up the powerful impulses they are providing. I will share more about the implications of this on another Tune-in Tuesday.

The 9 Paths Of Life Painting by Arthur Robins
Arthur Robins

Listen to Shred Illusions on the ‘I Think Speech’ podcast

Dear friends – We have the power to shed illusions in ways that don’t shatter, but actually shore up our foundations of faith, Hope & Love. We must stand on these foundations in order to reach our highest personal & collective destiny. Practicing the 10:10 Thought-Seed is a good way to live into the cosmic & communal support -Which will also help us to be awake enough to know when our life path has led us to a crossroads -This is not always an obvious situation with blaring red or green lights or stop, yield, or walk signs. It can be a subtle, or truly liminal space at best; or often it is quite deceptive – a wolf in sheep’s clothing – a mis-marked detour that can lead to a point of no return.  Dear friends, Never follow an expert off a precipice. Even a professional’s advice must be tested – In fact, never follow anything off a precipice, no matter how authoritative or sexy or convenient it might seem.

On the other hand, if any of those influences are headed in the direction of the unpaved way, or a beautiful bridge that can enable us to get to the other side of a precipice, well then that is a horse of a different color. For there are clues everywhere, conspiring to bring us into the light of our true destiny. We might consider following these signposts, pointing us in the right direction-to our higher selves. Be on the alert, dear friends, for such auspicious opportunities.

For we are all Stars learning to shine. Your light encourages my brilliance, & my light enhances your power. We are a new constellation orbiting the ever evolving Sophianic sphere of our collective creation.

And as we ripen more & more into our latent aptitude, we inspire the rest of humanity to claim their own idiosyncratic magnificence…

Circle of Life Painting by L T Sparrow

The world and “all that therein is” is born out of the spirit; the human being is born and called to rise to the spirit. Spiritual Science shows us more and more that the spirit lies exhausted in matter, that physical substance is the magic robe of the Spiritual. It is for the human being living in the material world, to charm the spirit out of this magic robe. The Spiritual finds its resurrection in the human being, in the human soul that rises above itself. — To enable the soul to find this path is the task of Spiritual Science. Thus does spirit find spirit. And the human being will realise and understand the spirit more and more as we fashion ourselves in its image.” ~Rudolf Steiner, The European Mysteries and Their Initiates, The History of Christian Rosenkreutz. Knowledge of higher worlds by no means concerns only the individual human being, only his personal welfare and misfortune. Precisely through true occult-scientific observations man arrives at the certainty that, from a higher standpoint, the welfare and misfortune of the individual is intimately bound up with the welfare or misfortune of the whole world. The human being comes to understand that he injures the whole universe and all its beings by not developing his forces in the proper way. If he lays waste his life by losing the relationship with the supersensible, he not only destroys something in his own inner being — the decaying of which can lead him finally to despair — but because of his weakness he creates a hindrance to the evolution of the whole world in which he lives”. ~ Rudolf Steiner – GA 13 – An Outline of Occult Science: I: THE CHARACTER OF OCCULT SCIENCE https://wn.rsarchive.org/Books/GA013/English/AP1972/GA013_index.html

Use Big Dipper to find North Star.
Earthsky.org

8 April 2021 – Speaking with the Stars“: The Big Dipper – also called the Plough – is easy to find -high in the north on April evenings. Notice it has two parts: a handle and a bowl. The two outer stars in the Big Dipper’s bowl are sometimes called the pointers. They point toward Polaris, the North Star. Polaris is at the end of the Little Dipper’s handle.

Many people say they can spot the Big Dipper easily, but not the Little Dipper. The Little Dipper’s stars are fainter, and its dipper pattern is less dipper-like than its larger neighbor. The best way to find the Little Dipper is to use the Big Dipper as a guide.

The Big and Little Dippers aren’t constellations. They’re asterisms, or noticeable patterns – in this case within a single constellation – on the sky’s dome. Both the Big and the Little Dipper belong to the constellation Ursa Major, the Great Bear.

Diagram of Big and Little Dippers with arrow from pointer stars to Polaris.

Polaris is special because Earth’s northern axis points (nearly) to its location in the sky. It’s the star around which the entire northern sky appears to turn.

Polaris is less than a degree away from the true north celestial pole on the sky’s dome now. It’ll be closest to true north – less than half a degree away – in the year 2102. The change in the location of the celestial pole with respect to Polaris is due to a motion of Earth called precession. This motion causes Earth’s axis to trace out a circle among the stars every 26,000 years.

Polaris wasn’t always the North Star. Thousands of years ago, it was an ordinary star in the northern sky, known to the Greeks by the name Phoenice. Slowly, over eons of time, the north celestial pole moved closer to Polaris.

Other ordinary stars in the northern sky have also had the honor of being the pole star, aka the north star. That includes Kochab and Pherkad, the two outermost stars in the bowl of the Little Dipper. Kochab and Pherkad served as twin pole stars from about 1500 B.C. to about 500 B.C. They’re still sometimes called the Guardians of the Pole.

Rudolf Steiner’s Lectures on this day

ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY

Those who work with the original indications in the Calendar of the Soul know that Rudolf Steiner lists the birth & death days, as well as other significant occurrences of various individualities, along with the Full & New Moons in the calendar.  He said of this: “What is presented here can be useful to those who wish to follow the path of humanity’s spiritual development” ~Rudolf Steiner

1820 – The Venus de Milo is discovered on the Aegean island of Milos. Created sometime between 130 & 100 BCE, it depicts Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love & beauty (Venus to the Romans). From an inscription that was on its plinth, it is thought to be the work of Alexandros of Antioch

According to T.H. Meyer, on this day in 1928, Ludwig Polzer-Hoditz had an experience that brought to the surface one of his past incarnations as Hadrian, 76 AD – 10 July, 138 AD, who was Roman emperor from 117 to 138. He is known for building Hadrian’s Wall, which marked the northern limit of Britannia. He also rebuilt the Pantheon and constructed the Temple of Venus and Roma. He is considered to have been a humanist, & he is regarded as one of the ‘Five Good Emperors’.

Hadrian was born into a Hispano-Roman family. During his reign, he traveled to nearly every province of the Empire. An ardent admirer of Greece, he sought to make Athens the cultural capital of the Empire and ordered the construction of many opulent temples in the city. He used his relationship with his Greek lover Antinous to underline his love of Greek culture leading to the creation of one of the most popular cults of ancient times. He spent extensive amounts of time with the military; he usually wore military attire and even dined and slept amongst the soldiers. Late in his reign he suppressed the Bar Kokhba revolt in Judaea, renaming the province Syria Palaestina.

Ludwig Polzer-Hoditz, who we know as being one of Rudolf Steiner’s most valued & independent-minded colleagues. He was born in Prague to an aristocratic family with royal connections. Leaving behind his background traditions, he became a key player in Steiner’s regenerative threefold social impulses, working tirelessly for a genuinely unified, free Europe.

Verses & Group Speech – Geoff Norris

Ascension: The ‘secret teachings’, the Elementals, & The Etheric Christ – Hazel Archer
