Project Thought-Seed (Egregore 10:10)

“When I think light, my soul shines,
When my soul shines, the earth is a star,
When the earth is a star, then I am, a true human being”.
~Herbert Hahn

Dear Friends – Our Good Will becomes a cosmic energy field for healing; actual “Seed ideas in the group mind of humanity”, to co-create our highest intentions for the evolution of humanity – that the Earth may become a Sacred Planet – a Sun – and every Human Being a Star. “What is sown in our highest thought will grow and bear seed.” It only takes the square root of any number of people to create change.

As we shine out from the Earth, Divine Spiritual Beings take notice, we are seen. We become lightning rods for their protection & power. We become super charged catalysts for change. The light that is eternal is the future flowing into the now.

This verse can be an anchor for a group Thought-Form created by our Willed Visualization– to be conceived each day at 10:10 AM, (&/or PM)wherever you are, so it moves like a wave across the globe. Here is the Seeed verse said in reverse:

I am a true human being,
When the Earth is a Star.
The Earth is a Star
When my soul shines.
My soul shines
When I think light.

We must become spiritual warriors, and endeavor to take up the practice of building up positive imaginations on the inner planes as a counterforce to the adversarial forces working in the world. This is a “key-call” to the Spiritual Powers aligned with love and light, to enlist their aid.

See you, dear friends, in the ethers every day 10:10 AM, (&/or PM) (10 is the number of completion, but please don’t worry if you can’t tune in at 10:10, just do it whenever you think of it, which may be many times a day, or perhaps only occasionally, don’t stress it, just do what you can with a loving heart-mind)

PLEASE SHARE THE GOOD WORD (& Let me know if you are taking on the project)

“When 2 or more are gathered…”

Science Source - The four humours, 16th century artwork

“The ideas, feelings and so on which transform the astral body during a long life will produce a marked change in the etheric body only in the next life. Thus if someone wants to be born in his next life with good habits and inclinations, he must try-to prepare these as much as possible in his astral body. If he makes the effort to do good, he will be born in his next life with the tendency to do good and that will be a characteristic of his etheric body. If he wants to be born with a good memory, he must exercise his memory as much as he can; he must practise looking back over the separate years of his life and over his life as a whole. In this way he will engender in his astral body something which will become a characteristic of his etheric body in his next life — the foundation for a good memory. A man who simply hurries through the world will find in his next life that he cannot stick at anything. But if anyone lives in intimate sympathy with a particular environment, he will be born with a special predilection for everything that reminds him of it.

We can trace the various temperaments, also, back to a previous life, for they are qualities of the etheric body.

The choleric man has a strong will, is bold, courageous, with an urge to action. Alexander the Great, Hannibal, Caesar, Napoleon, for example, were cholerics. This type of character shows itself even in childhood, and a child with this temperament will take the lead in childhood games.

The melancholic man is very much occupied with himself and hence is apt to keep himself to himself. He does a lot of thinking, particularly about the way in which his environment affects him. He withdraws into himself, tends to be suspicious. This temperament, too, is apparent in childhood: a child of this type does not like to display his toys; he is afraid something will be taken away from him and would like to keep everything under lock and key.

The phlegmatic man has no real interest in anything; he is dreamy, inactive, lazy, and seeks sensuous enjoyment.

The sanguine man, on the other hand, gets easily interested in anything but he does not stick to it; his interest quickly fades; he is continually changing his hobbies.

Melancholic temperament: Specifications and lifestyle - Tehran Times

These are the four basic types. Generally a man is a mixture of all four, but we can usually discover the fundamental one. These four temperaments express themselves in the etheric body, and so there are four main types of etheric body. They have differing currents and movements, and these impart a particular basic colour to the astral body. This does not depend on the astral body; it only reveals itself there.

The melancholic temperament is karmically determined if a man in his previous life was compelled to lead a narrow, restricted existence and to be much alone; if he was always preoccupied only with himself and unable to Make much interest in anything else. If, however, a man has learnt a great deal from experience but has also had something of a hard struggle, if he has encountered many things and has not merely looked on at them, he will become a choleric. If, again, he has had a pleasant life without much struggle or toil, or if he saw and passed by many things, but only as an onlooker, all this will work karmically into the etheric body of his next life: he will become a phlegmatic or a sanguine type”. ~Rudolf Steiner, At the Gates of Spiritual Science, LECTURE SEVEN

1910 – Deathday of Leo Tolstoy, Russian author & playwright

“In 1828, Leo Tolstoy is born in a family of Russian counts about which he himself says that the family immigrated originally from Germany. Then we see Tolstoy losing certain higher goods of life. Hardly he is one and a half years old, he loses the mother, the father in the ninth year. Then he grows up under the care of a relative who is, so to speak, the embodied love, and from her spiritual condition, the marvellous soul condition had to flow in his soul like by itself. However, on the other side, another relative who wants to build up him out of the viewpoints of her circles, out of the conditions of time as they formed in certain circles influences him. She is a person who is completely merged in the outward world activity which later became very odious to Tolstoy and against which he fought so hard. We see this personality striving from the outset to make Tolstoy a person “comme il faut,” a person who could treat his farmers in such a way, as it was necessary in those days, who should receive title, rank, dignity, and medals and should play a suitable role in the society.

Then we see Tolstoy coming to the university; he is a bad student as he absolutely thinks that everything that the professors say at the University of Kazan is nothing worth knowing. Only oriental languages can occupy him. In all other matters, he was not interested. Against it the comparison of a certain chapter of the code of Catherine the Great (1729–1796) with The Spirit of the Laws (1748) by Montesquieu (Charles de Secondat, Baron de M., 1689–1755) attracted him. Then he tries repeatedly to manage his estate, and we see him almost getting around to diving head first into the life of luxury of a man of his circles, diving head first into all possible vices and vanities of life. We see him becoming a gambler, gambling big sums away. However, he has hours within this life over and over again when his own activities disgust him, actually. We see him meeting peers as well as men of letters and leading a life, which he calls a worthless, even perishable one at moments of reflection. However, we also see — and this is important to him who looks with pleasure at the development of the soul where this development manifests in especially typical signs — particular peculiarities appearing with him in the development of his soul which can disclose us already in the earliest youth what is, actually, in this soul.

Thus, it is of immense significance, what a deep impression a certain event makes on Tolstoy at the age of eleven years. A friendly boy once told him that one has made an important discovery, a new invention. One has found — and a teacher has spoken in particular of the fact — that there is no God that this God is only an empty invention of many human beings, an empty picture of thought. Everything that one can know about the impression that this boy’s experience made on Tolstoy shows already how he absorbed it that in him a soul struggled striving for the highest summits of human existence.” ~ Rudolf Steiner, Where and How Does One Find the Spirit? Tolstoy and Carnegie, Berlin, 28th January, 1909

1976 – Deathday of Lili Kolisko, remembered for her pioneer work in anthroposophy, attending lectures by founder Rudolf Steiner starting in 1914. She developed the Capillary Dynamolisis method (Steigbildmethode), testing the idea that not only the moon, but the other planets as well, have an influence over earthly fluids. To test this, she dissolved metals classically associated to each planet & observed the pictures left by their absorption over a filter paper. She noticed consistent differences of the patterns according to the position of the planets in relation to sun & earth. Lilly Kolisko also worked on the development of a remedy for foot and mouth disease & methods for assessment of food quality from an anthroposophic standpoint. She was married to Dr. Eugen Kolisko.

Manifestations of Karma Study Group
December 2, 2020 – 7:15 pm Central (8:15 pm Eastern)

… We have now learned that it is possible to seek out accidents or other causes of illness due to karmic effects. In due course we will deal with the details of such processes, such as the way in which the forces in deeper levels of consciousness work within the human being, or to what extent our ordinary consciousness may avoid such accidents. We can understand that someone who goes to a place  where he may succumb to an infection will have been driven there under the influence of a certain level of consciousness; in like manner we must be able to understand how it is that human beings take certain measures to render such infections less and less effective; in other words, that through our ordinary consciousness we are able to avert certain consequences by means of hygiene.

Synesthesia

Good Vs Evil Painting by Fabio Cedeno
Fabio Cadeno

The members of the Manichean Order are already learning how to transform quite radically those who by nature are wholly evil. And then the transformed evil will become a quite special good. The power to effect this change will bring about a condition of moral holiness on Earth. But this can be achieved only if the evil has first come into existence; then the power needed to overcome the evil will yield a power that can reach the heights of holiness. A field has to be treated with manure and the manure has to ferment in the soil; similarly, humanity needs the manure of evil in order to attain to the highest holiness. And herein lies the mission of evil. A man’s muscles get strong by use; and equally, if good is to rise to the heights of holiness, it must first overcome the evil which opposes it. The task of evil is to promote the ascent of man. Things such as this give us a glimpse into the secret of life”. ~Rudolf Steiner, At the Gates of Spiritual Science, Lecture 8.

Anthroposophy - Anthroposophical Art - Comunidad - Google+ | Lazure painting, Art, Spiritual art

1923 – The founding of the Dutch Anthroposophical Society. Willem Zeylmans van Emmichhoven becomes its General Secretary.

Zeijlmans van Emmichoven, Frederik Willem (1893-1961)

1961- Deathday of Willem Zeylmans van Emmichhoven, a Dutch psychiatrist and anthroposophist. From 1923 until his death in 1961 he was chairman of the Dutch Anthroposophical Society. He was a familiar figure in public life & had a considerable influence on the Anthroposophic movement, particularly through his numerous lectures & his work as an author, which included the first biography of Rudolf Steiner.

Zeylmans was the son of a Dutch chocolate manufacturer. His mother came from Germany. In childhood he was often troubled by visions of color & emotional turmoil that later stimulated his preoccupation with what would later be called synesthesia: a condition when you hear a sound & automatically see a color. After recovering from an attack of typhoid, he entered medical school at eighteen, specializing in psychiatry. His interest in color, inspired by the painter Jacoba van Heemskerck & her friend & patron Marie Tak van Poortvliet, led him to research more about the effects of colors. He continued his medical studies in Leipzig under Wilhelm Wundt in 1919, where he became a member of the Anthroposophical Society. After meeting with Rudolf Steiner, he was encouraged to continue his research into the effect of colors & in his dissertation he wrote on “The effect of colors on the life of feeling.’’ On 27 September 1921 he was married to Ingeborg Droogleever Fortuyn, whom he had met for the first time many years earlier. Their first son was born in 1926.

At the age of 28, Zeylmans began lecturing on Anthroposophy to an enthusiastic public, as well as academic colleagues. He helped establish the first Waldorf School in The Hague, where he also founded a small psychiatric hospital, which soon moved into its own building (now the Rudolf Steiner Zorg). When the Anthroposophical Society was founded in the Netherlands, Rudolf Steiner appointed him as its first General Secretary. In addition to his psychiatric work Zeylmans undertook worldwide lecture tours. He spoke often about the effect of color on humans & gave advice to paint manufacturers, architects, directors of museums & artists.

Zeylman’s primary concerns were the rapprochement & understanding between the different nations & peoples, as well as a furtherance of cosmopolitanism. His attempt to found the global schools association suggested by Rudolf Steiner (a ‘”Weltschulverein”), to promote the dissemination & funding for free school education, failed due to resistance from anthroposophic circles against fostering broader public awareness.

In the face of increasing political fanaticism, another initiative Zeylmans took was to further interest for anthroposophy in European youth. In the summer of 1930 he organized a youth camp on the Stakenberg near Nunspeet in the Veluwe. More than a thousand participants gathered in working groups & heard lectures by leading anthroposophists like Eugen Kolisko, Walter Johannes Stein, Elisabeth Vreede & Ita Wegman on their thoughts to the situation of the time.

His work, however, was increasingly restricted by political developments. His involvement with the administration of the General Anthroposophical Society in Dornach Switzerland also met with increasing disapproval. The internal disputes since the death of Rudolf Steiner & his close collaboration with the physician Ita Wegman in 1935 led to his exclusion & that of the majority of the Dutch members.

After the war Zeylmans took up once again his international lecturing work. In 1954 he embarked on a global tour for nine months. Encouraged by Bernard Lievegoed, in 1960 he sought a mandate from the members of the Anthroposophical Society in the Netherlands to reunite it once more, after 25 years of separation, with the General Anthroposophical Society at the Goetheanum in Switzerland. He undertook a second journey through South Africa in 1961, visiting the newly established Waldorf schools & other institutions to give advice & hold lectures. During this trip, he died unexpectedly in Cape Town.

Cultivate Resilience

Dear Friends, We can conceive the Divine. We birth them from out of the future, just as they gave us warmth & life in the past. We can live our gifted life as a lyrical moment in the history of a prodigious pregnancy – an eternal nativity.  We can work with these spiritual beings as allies. They have been approaching since time began. And guess what? They have arrived; & they wait for us to engage them. They are the fruit of the Tree of Life & we are the leaves, ever falling. And yet we are ever in Resurrection – Rising fecund from the compost – Growing wiser with each season.

To be a hardy perennial ready to grapple against all odds, we have to cultivate
resilience
, resisting the temptation to swallow the thousands of delusions that have been carefully crafted & seductively packaged by the ‘experts’ who act as if they are controlling us for our own good. Can we learn to stay in love, as we overthrow the hardened hallucination that is mistakenly referred to as reality?

Freedom Fighter-Frida Kahlo as luchadora libre | Portraiture art, Art, Freedom fighters
Loren Newton

Let’s remind each other about who we really are: We’re immortal freedom fighters in service to Divine Love. When we came down the rainbow bridge we drank from the river of forgetfulness to take on the temporal form of a human being. This caused many of us to suffer amnesia about our true origins, & our grand destiny; which is to liberate all sentient beings from suffering, & re-claim the conscious awareness of our birthright – Recognizing & cultivating the Christic seed planted in the Earth so that we shall become a Sun. We will accept nothing less than the miracle of bringing heaven all the way down to earth, & Earth up to heaven.

Yes, friends, I know our task may seem impossible. Ignorance & inertia, partially camouflaged as the letter of the law, seems to surround us. Nihilism is enshrined as a hallmark of worldliness. Compulsive skepticism masquerades as insightfulness. Mean-spirited irony is chic. Violent stories about treachery & degradation provoke a visceral thrill in millions of people who think of themselves as logical, reasonable & smart. Beautiful truths are suspect, & ugly truths are readily believed.

So what can we do to help each other in this work?

First, we can create sacred spaces to shelter everyone who is devoted to the awakening. These sanctuaries might take the form of temporary autonomous zones, like festivals, or art workshops, or makers spaces, where we can ritually potentiate the evolving New Mysteries. Or they might be more enduring safe houses like Anthroposophical Branches, Camphill Communities, or Fair Trade Cafes, or Biodynamic Farms & CSA drop off sites; where we can get regular practice in freeing ourselves from the slavery of hatred in all of its many guises.

What else can we do to help each other? We can take on the solemn duty to hospice what is dying, & midwife what is being born. We need the prompt of focused purpose, to kill off every old reflex pattern within us that marches in goose step with the putrefaction. We need each other’s dauntless fortitude as we goad & foment the blooming life forces within, that thrive on the incandescent questions of being truly human.

Rudolf Steiner’s Lectures on this day

 ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY

According to T.H. Meyer & Johannes Hemleben, in his book “Rudolf Steiner: A documentary biography”: Today in 1901 Marie von Sivers asks THE question of Rudolf Steiner –Marie von Sivers “appeared one day” at one of Rudolf Steiner’s early lectures in 1900. In the autumn of 1901, she posed the question to Steiner, “Would it be possible to create a spiritual movement based on European tradition and the impetus of Christ?” Rudolf Steiner later reported:

With this, I was given the opportunity to act in a way that I had only previously imagined. The question had been put to me, and now, according to spiritual laws, I could begin to answer it.

From Rudolf Steiner’s The Story of My Life, Chapter 30: “The Brockdorffs were leaders of a branch of the Theosophical Society founded by Blavatsky. What I had said in connection with Goethe’s fairy-tale led to my being invited by the Brockdorffs to deliver lectures regularly before those members of the Theosophical Society who were associated with them. I explained, however, that I could speak only about that which I vitally experienced within me as spiritual knowledge.

In truth, I could speak of nothing else. For very little of the literature issued by the Theosophical Society was known to me. I had known theosophists while living in Vienna, and I later became acquainted with others. These acquaintance ships led me to write in the Magazine the adverse review dealing with the theosophists in connection with the appearance of a publication of Franz Hartmann. What I knew otherwise of the literature was for the most part entirely uncongenial to me in method and approach; I could not by any possibility have linked my discussions with this literature.

So I then gave the lectures in which I established a connection with the mysticism of the Middle Ages. By means of the ideas of the mystics from Master Eckhard to Jakob Böhme, I found expression for the spiritual conceptions which in reality I had determined beforehand to set forth. I published the series of lectures in the book Die Mystik im Aufgange des neuzeitlichen Geisteslebens(2). At these lectures there appeared one day in the audience Marie von Sievers, who was chosen by destiny at that time to take into strong hands the German section of the Theosophical Society, founded soon after the beginning of my lecturing. Within this section I was then able to develop my anthroposophic activity before a constantly increasing audience.

No one was left in uncertainty of the fact that I would bring forward in the Theosophical Society only the results of my own research through perception…

My object was to set forth the evolution from the ancient mysteries to the mystery of Golgotha in such a way that in this evolution there should be seen to be active, not merely earthly historic forces, but spiritual supramundane influences. And I wished to show that in the ancient mysteries cult-pictures were given of cosmic events, which were then fulfilled in the mystery of Golgotha as facts transferred from the cosmos to the earth of the historic plane.

This was by no means taught in the Theosophical Society. In this view I was in direct opposition to the theosophical dogmatics of the time, before I was invited to work in the Theosophical Society. For this invitation followed immediately after the cycle of lectures on Christ here described.

Between the two cycles of lectures that I gave before the Theosophical Society, Marie von Sievers was in Italy, at Bologna, working on behalf of the Theosophical Society in the branch established there.

Thus the thing evolved up to the time of my first attendance at a theosophical congress, in London, in the year 1902. At this congress, in which Marie von Sievers also took part, it was already a foregone conclusion that a German section of the Society would be founded with myself – shortly before invited to become a member – as the general secretary.

The visit to London was of great interest to me. I there became acquainted with important leaders of the Theosophical Society. I had the privilege of staying at the home of Mr. Bertram Keightley, one of these leaders. We became great friends. I became acquainted with Mr. Mead, the very diligent secretary of the Theosophical Movement. The most interesting conversations imaginable took place at the home of Mr. Keightley in regard to the forms of spiritual knowledge alive within the Theosophical Society.

Especially intimate were these conversations with Bertram Keightley himself. H. P. Blavatsky seemed to live again in these conversations. Her whole personality, with its wealth of spiritual content, was described with the utmost vividness before me and Marie von Sievers by my dear host, who had been so long associated with her.

I became slightly acquainted with Annie Besant and also Sinnett, author of Esoteric Buddhism. Mr. Leadbeater I did not meet, but only heard him speak from the platform. He made no special impression on me.

All that was interesting in what I heard stirred me deeply, but it had no influence upon the content of my own views.

Jakob Böhme - Theosophy Wiki

1624 – Birthday of Jakob Böhme, a shoemaker in Görlitz, Silesia, is regarded to be one of the most profound mystics in Germany.

Jakob Böhme’s thoroughly healthy way of knowledge — his original deeper heart’s knowledge, so in accordance with the feeling of the people — beheld freedom as weaving and working through everything necessitated, working even through natural necessity. And Schelling, ascending from a view of nature in accordance with the spirit to a beholding of the spirit, felt himself in harmony with Jakob Böhme…

Hegel‘s world view has its place in the course of mankind’s spiritual evolution through the fact that in it the radiant power of thoughts lifts itself up out of the mystical depths of the soul, and through the fact that in Hegel’s seeking, mystical power wants to reveal itself with the power of the light of thought. And this is also how he sees his place in the course of this evolution. Therefore he looked back upon Jakob Böhme in the way expressed in these words (to be found in his History of Philosophy): “This Jakob Böhme, long forgotten and decried as a pietistic visionary, has regained his rightful esteem only in recent times; Leibniz revered him. His public has been greatly reduced by the Age of Enlightenment; in recent times his profundity has been recognized again. … To declare him a visionary means nothing. For if one wants to, one can call every philosopher so, even Epicurus and Bacon. … But as to the high esteem to which Böhme has been raised, he owes this particularly to the form of his contemplation and feeling; for, contemplation and inner feeling … and the pictorial nature of one’s thoughts the allegories and so on — are partly considered to be the essential form of philosophy. But it is only the concept, thinking, in which philosophy can have its truth, in which the absolute can be expressed and also is as it is in and for itself.” And Hegel finds these further words for Böhme: “Jakob Böhme is the first German philosopher; the content of his philosophizing is truly German. What distinguishes Böhme and makes him remarkable is … that he set the intellectual world into his own inner life (Gemüt), and within his own consciousness of himself he beheld, knew, and felt everything that used to be in the beyond. This general idea of Böhme proves on the one hand to be profound and basic; on the other hand, however, he does not achieve clarity and order in all his need and struggle for definition and discrimination in developing his divine views about the universe.”

Such words are spoken by Hegel, after all, only from the feeling: In the simple heart of Jakob Böhme there lived the deepest impulse of the human soul to sink itself with its own experience into world experience — the true mystical impulse — but the pictorial view, the parable, the symbol must lift themselves to the light of clear ideas in order to attain what they want. In Hegel’s world view Jakob Böhme’s world pictures are meant to arise again as ideas of human reason. Thus the enthusiast of thoughts, Hegel, stands beside the deep mystic, Jakob Böhme, within the evolution of German idealism”. ~Rudolf Steiner, The Riddle of Man

The Soul Calendar verses given to us by Rudolf Steiner form a lemniscate pattern whose centre point is Easter and Michaelmas, from which the verses rise from Easter
into a summer loop and descend into a winter one from Michaemas.
The verse quartet’s small rectangles near the centre point enlarge
to form a square this week – in verses that are the only ones with words
of threatening and death – before they thin and lengthen up and down
to the solstices. When do the seasons change in the Soul Calendar?

In his wonderful book, ‘The Rhythm of the Christian Year’ Emil Bock wrote
“for the time when the sun descends during the year, from St John’s Tide,
summer’s beginning, through Michaelmas, autumn’s beginning, until Christmas,
corresponding Christian contents for the year do not exist. Is it therefore
surprising that humanity only likes to acknowledge all that moves upward
but is afraid of what moves downward? But we cannot swing along in the
cosmic rhythm if we experience fear of the descent, for example, fear
of ageing. The whole of human life today has therefore become arhythmical
… If we do not live in the rhythm of day and night and love both parts,
the ascending and descending one, we will soon no longer receive benefits
from sleep. Night will leave us empty. It will therefore refuse us its secrets
and gifts.”

Summer is the spiritual sleeptime of the year. Now, in the summer of the soul
from Michaelmas, we are challenged to incarnate our summer of the world’s gifts.
The beginning of the 4 seasons of the year have been linked in the Soul Calendar
to the 4 major festivals, but it seems natural to me for the square quartet’s verses
to be felt as initiatory challenges to make life’s transit into a new stage of the year.
The 4 seasons, correlating then with the meteorological year,
would each have 12 verses in between 4 transitions… this week in v33,
autumn to winter, followed by this week’s complementary verse from winter
to spring in the week before Lent, its opposite verse from spring to summer at
Ascensiontide, and its mirror verse from summer to autumn towards August’s end.

v33,
And so I come to feel the world,
which left without my soul’s communion
would be just frosty, empty life
that powerless to recreate itself in souls
could in itself alone find only death.

v46,
The world is threatening to numb,
my soul’s own inborn force.
Now memory, companion me
and in my sight enhance
the penetration of my glance
vitality of will alone sustains.

v7,
My Self is threatening to flee,
drawn strongly by the world’s inviting light.
Now you, my foresight, dawn in me your star
and my divining, firmly as of right,
replace the power of thought
that in the senses’ glory leaves me.

v20,
And so I come to feel my very being,
who not communing with the world
would perish, and powerless to be
with cosmic being my authentic I,
developing from me alone, would die.

And here are a pair of poems with a relationship
to the seasons and the above quartet.

THE CYCLE OF LEAVES
When daylight’s no longer long enough
for trees to transform it their leaves fall
and feed the soil’s community
who nourishes the roots
that lift Earth’s strength to meet the light
that opens Her New Year’s leaves.

THE CYCLE OF THOUGHT
When in the summer sunshine the mind lets go
and rises to the light conducted thought the world composes
imagination’s flowers open… and form the fruits
that falling into the solar plexus inspire an invisible community
to shine into the heart the springtime intuition
of the resurrected thought the Earth is waiting for.

I invite any dear soul with thoughts or feelings about the seasons,
my translations or my poems, to post them into the comments section.

We should be grateful to people if they treat us badly, because then we can exercise our tolerating forces. I agree with Goethe: ‘The Time is at hand’ to give a big thank you kiss to all the people & things that I have labeled obstacles, which over time have become little voices in my head. I can start with the crabby, reactive naysayer that’s forever on the lookout for insults to my dignity, however tiny or unintentional. O & the worry-wart that wakes me up in the middle of the night to pester me with fears & doubts. Grrr…that monkey mind constantly churning is so annoying – & Gosh that bully who always says it’s hopeless, needs another hug. And the scared little girl who holds resentment like a security blanket, wants another cookie.

Can I Love all the little voices in my head? Not just the still, small voice that’s always ready to provide encouragement & deep research questions that lead me to find a treasure trove of more questions & even a few inspirations & revelations. Yes! I can celebrate the voices in all their variable vitality, their persistence, their attentiveness, like an alarm clock warning: WAKE UP! I have to remember that I am lucky to have such a zealous group of advisors & karmic helpers. And then ultimately I must stand in Christic balance with the Representative of Humanity as the middle pillar, which is the path of love.

Battle For The Soul

Ha'azinu: Between Heaven and Earth | Morning Meditations
Kenneth Wimble

Dear friends – I have been wrangling once again with my role as lightning rod, which is not a pleasant part to play, & yet it seems to be my karma to rattle the cage; – a constant call for me to work out all my shadow pieces, which get reflected back in the karmic group around me. I am working hard to let go of the need to be on the defensive. I want to repent; & cease perpetuating reactive scenarios. I strive to soften my bluntness thru compassion. I pray to forgive myself, & those that have trespassed against me. I beg my angel to help me release the sadness & resentment of feeling misunderstood or unappreciated, that I may stand upright in humble equanimity – Constantly speaking The Lord’s Prayer & this verse:

Spirit triumphant!
Flame through the weakness of my fainthearted soul!
Burn up my false egoism,
Enkindle compassion,
So that selflessness
The life-stream of humanity,
May flow as the wellspring of spiritual rebirth
!”
~Rudolf Steiner

The Karma Iron filings get attached only to the fruit conscious soul magnet. Detach the doer from the action and reaction… | Spiritual art, Art, Spiritual paintings
Darion Leon

I think about karma & delve into spiritual scientific research:

In 1924, the final full year of his life, Rudolf Steiner gave a series of urgent, sometimes impassioned, talks to members of the Anthroposophical Society regarding our karma & its relationship to the culture of the time, referring in particular to the vital task of renewing civilization & preserving it from the threat of decline. Steiner’s words characterize vividly a great spiritual battle – of forces gathering to fight for the soul of humanity itself. He presents a striking panorama in which anthroposophers are compelled to broaden our vision; to see true esoteric anthroposophical work as a live yeast that can set all culture rising.

To awaken the members of the Society to the dimensions of their task, Steiner saw it as essential that we begin to understand the many different karmic threads from which the movement is woven. This recognition of unity, as well as difference – can give the strength of diversity which, if unconscious & unrecognized, easily leads to division.

From Instruction to Construction: Plato & Aristotle | by William Rankin | Age of Awareness | Medium
William Rankin

Steiner speaks of the need of 2 specific groups of souls within the anthroposophical movement to reconcile: the Platonists & the Aristotelians. In the karmic background lies a conflict of approaches, but the task today calls for a unity based on love & the wisdom to work with Michael, Christ & The Sophia; in the face of Ahriman, materialism & the possibility of civilization collapsing into decadence. Given the challenges faced by humanity today, it has never been more urgent for those of us who ally themselves with Rudolf Steiner’s work to study, take to heart & practice the central task of anthroposophy: ‘a renewal of human karma in community from out of the spirit’. In ‘Awakening to Community’ Steiner speaks of an ‘awakening of the human being in the spiritual and soul qualities of the other.’

Steiner remarks about the conditions applying to such a higher awakening: We have to see the other as their highest Self. Blaming, & shaming brings in the adversarial beings. ‘Spiritual beings interpose themselves between us as we meet’.

What kind of Being are we creating in our interactions?

The Hedge Mason: Egregore of the Freemasons
Charlotte Vywinne

The individual who finds himself within the Anthroposophical Movement should begin to feel something of the peculiar karmic position which the impulse to Anthroposophy requires. If such authentic souls, such willing anthroposophists can be found, then an upward movement and dynamic will arise. If such souls are not willing to do the hard work of living into the uncomfortable karmic balancing, then decadence will take its inexorable downward course...It is most necessary for the anthroposophist to know his karma will be harder to experience than it is for other men. From the very outset those who come into the Anthroposophical Society are predestined to a harder, more difficult experience of karma than other men. And if we try to pass this harder experience by — if we want to experience our karma in a comfortable way — it will surely take vengeance on us in one direction or another. We must be anthroposophists in our experience of karma too. To be true anthroposophists we must be able to observe each other and our own experience of karma with constant wide-awake attention, without reproach. If we do not, then our denial, or rather our desire to experience it so — will find expression and take vengeance in physical illnesses, physical accidents and the like…Today humanity stands before a great crisis: either it will see all civilization collapsing into the abyss; or else spirituality will raise civilization up by the power of the Michael impetus, through which the Christ impetus works, thus continuing, enriching and sustaining it” ~Karmic Relationships: Esoteric Studies – Volume III

Battle for the Soul: The Working Together of Three Great Leaders of Humanity (Social Ecology S.): Amazon.co.uk: B Lievegoed: 9781869890643: Books

Bernard Lievegoed advises in his deathbed testimonial in, The Battle For The Soul: “The consciousness-soul develops itself especially in the sometimes difficult cooperation with others”.

The following quote is from a letter written by Elisabeth Vreede right before she was expelled from the Society: “The being of Anthroposophy—I myself have always felt it as a spiritual being newly created by Dr. Steiner, as it were the first hierarchical Being that men have begotten, quite young and still under-developed, as is the case with a child—a Being that must now begin to develop further through our common work as a ‘community of Love and Wisdom’, and with the cooperation of its creator from the spiritual world. Just for this reason I find it so painful when attacks are continually made against part of the active members such as to exclude them from the work, from creating together the Being of Anthroposophy.”

24 | August | 2020 | Reverse Ritual

In relation to the Mystery Dramas, Hans Pusch states the following: “It is a clear sign of genuine relationship to Anthroposophy, if the forces of destiny become more and more active, even though they may be disturbing and uncomfortable. The spirit of our time is an awakener, a conscious troublemaker, and a dis-illusioner. Anyone who feels inner turmoil as a necessary tribute to the forces of progress will be prepared to see how our trials help us to understand and have compassion for one another. Sometimes it’s indeed a daily, almost hourly inner battle with oneself to say ‘Yes’ to what destiny throws in our path.

In these four plays we see the characterizing of people towards the inevitability of fate that unites them, and the consequences of their interrelationship. Steiner intended to show how spiritual development manifests in a karmically-intertwined group of people – how they must support one another, for the good of all. If one in the group is not upheld, they all suffer; showing the driving forces of destiny, events, openly and consistently on the stage.

Words of the initiate character Benedictus in the first drama The Portal of Initiation sound as the leitmotif that echoes on through all four dramas: ‘Here in this circle a knot forms out of the threads that karma spins in world becoming’. (Scene 3) In this ‘karmic knot of destiny’ lies the ‘seed’ of the karmic task of this particular group of people.

They have the possibility of creating something new if they can gradually take hold of their karmic ties from the past and transform the threads of destiny that have bound them together in a ‘knot.’ Those who are ripe to awaken to their karmic tasks with respect to one another, must ultimately unravel the karmic knot. Only free deeds of love performed in the name of Christ can fully redeem past karma, it is revealed. Few of the characters have the inner strength and courage to do this fully. They are continually pitted against the forces of evil in their soul life, that would draw them away from doing this — often with tragic consequences for the whole group. But every little step taken in this direction by one or the other helps in the gradual realization of their karmic task – which, in the case of this particular group of people, is to lay the foundations for a modem mystery centre. Through conscious acts of sacrifice certain individuals can take it upon themselves to share in the karma of another person or, as in the case of Benedictus, even the karma of the whole group. But each is called upon in his own way to awaken to his particular karmic task within the group. One is reminded of the apocalyptic words of the old Man with the Lamp in Goethe’s fairy-tale The Beautiful Lily and the Green Snake (1795) – a work that was the major source of inspiration for the Mystery Dramas: The old Man looked up to the stars, and then began to speak: ‘We are assembled at the propitious hour; let each perform his task, let each do his duty; and a universal happiness will swallow up our individual sorrows, as a universal grief consumes individual joys.’

We are called to live the Mystery Dramas both in our own personal lives and in our lives together as a group. We have to face the same kind of trials and temptations as the characters in the drama. We have had, from time to time, to take on the role of Benedictus for one another, in our attempt to awaken to ‘the knot of destiny’ that seemed to have bound us together to do the work. It has been a challenge not to lose sight of the ‘star’ that had originally brought us together. The powers of darkness do all that they can to lead us astray. We feel the tragedy of our own times. But through honest experiences and ordeals we find new powers of hope that will lead us on into the future.

Awakening to the reality of reincarnation and karma is perhaps one of the greatest challenges in our time — something that concerns the whole of humanity. Through such an awakening we will be able to find the moral forces that will be needed if we are to lay the foundations for human community in the future.

Collison's Commentary on the Mystery Dramas – Meadow Lark Store

Harry Collison: “Within one’s present incarnation, there are deeds to perform to help rectify misdeeds, before the death of the body. We all have knots to loosen and unbind in our individual destinies. In daily life, it is the suffering in destiny situations, which leads to soul-growth. Present states of mind may hold the clues to understanding past misdeeds. Likewise does heightened consciousness assist in planting seeds of service for the future of humankind”.

Friends, if you have taken any of this to heart, I would love to hear your thoughts

Rudolf Steiner’s Lectures on this day

 ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY

Friedrich Walther | Sermon of Saint Albertus Magnus | German | The Metropolitan Museum of Art
Fredrich Walther

1280 – Death & Feast Day of Albertus Magnus, a German Catholic Dominican friar & bishop, theologian, & philosopher, one of the founders of Scholasticism. Canonized as a saint, one of the 36 Doctors of the Catholic Church. He was known during his lifetime as Doctor Universalis & Doctor Expertus.

Albertus was the first to comment on virtually all of the writings of Aristotle, making them accessible to wider academic debate. The study of Aristotle brought him to take an interest in the teachings of Muslim academics, notably Avicenna & Averroes.

Albertus took part in the General Chapter of the Dominicans at Valenciennes together with Thomas Aquinas establishing a program for the Dominicans that featured the study of philosophy. This innovation initiated the tradition of Dominican scholastic philosophy put into practice, for example at the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas, the “Angelicum

Albert’s writings went to 38 volumes, displaying his prolific habits & encyclopedic knowledge of topics such as logic, theology, botany, geography, astronomy, astrology, mineralogy, alchemy, zoology, physiology, phrenology, justice, law, friendship, & love. He digested, interpreted, & systematized the whole of Aristotle’s works, gleaned from the Latin translations & notes of the Arabian commentators. Most modern knowledge of Aristotle was preserved and presented by Albertus.

According to legend, Albertus is said to have discovered the philosopher’s stone & passed it on to his pupil Thomas Aquinas, shortly before his death.

Among the last of his labors was the defense of the orthodoxy of his former pupil, Thomas Aquinas, whose death grieved him deeply.

Albertus is known for his commentary on the musical practice of his times. Most of his written musical observations are found in his commentary on Aristotle’s Poetics

“Essentially speaking, the task of the time which lies between the fourth and the fifteenth century was, therefore, the development of a technique of thinking. This thinking activity has now adopted a definite attitude in regard to man’s cognitive faculty towards the contents of the world. We may say: Spirits such as Albertus Magnus and Thomas Aquinas have set forth the position of man’s thinking activity towards the contents of the world in a manner which was, at that time, quite incontestable.

How do their descriptions appear to us?

Thinkers such as Albertus Magnus and Thomas Aquinas had dogmatically preserved truths which originated from old traditions, but their meaning could no longer be grasped. To begin with, these truths had to be protected as contents of a supernatural revelation, which at that time was more or less equivalent to a super-sensible revelation. The Church preserved these revelations through its authority and teachings, and people thought that the dogmas of the Church contained the revelations connected with the super-sensible worlds. They were to accept what was offered in these dogmas, they were to accept it as a revelation which could not be touched by human reason, that is to say, by the human intellect. The Dual Form of Cognition During the Middle Ages and the Development of Knowledge in Modern Times” ~ A Lecture By Rudolf Steiner, Dornach, August 5, 1921, GA 206

Johannes Kepler Painting by Alexander Schäd | Saatchi Art
Alexander Schad

1630 – Deathday of Johannes Kepler, German astronomer & mathematician

“Johannes Kepler was as much a natural scientist of an earlier time as of a later one. He drew his thoughts from external observation, but in his inner experience he had an absolute feeling that spiritual Beings are there when man is receiving his thoughts from Nature. Kepler felt himself to be partly an Initiate, and for him it was a matter of course that he experienced his abstract building up of the universe artistically”. ~Rudolf Steiner, The Younger generation

“It cannot be denied that such spirits formerly imparted their oracular sayings to men through idols and oak-trees, out of groves and grottoes, through animals and so on; and sooth-saying from the flight of birds was not merely an art of deceiving the weak. Those spirits were active in guiding the birds through the air, and by this means, with God’s permission, much was intimated to men in former times. Even today we hear stories of fateful birds, such as owls, vultures, eagles, ravens, but the more such stories are despised, the rarer they become. For these spirits cannot bear being despised, as according to the law of God and Christian teaching, they certainly deserve to be: they prefer to fly away and keep silent. From the beginning the lying Tempter was allowed to speak through animals: he spoke to Eve through the serpent and thus he led the human race astray. That was always the way of these spirits from then onwards: whenever they could speak to men through the bodies and movements of animals, through voices or portents, they misused this power, appropriating for themselves the reverence due to God and misleading unhappy men. And now, although Christ came to destroy the work of the Devil, and imposed silence on these spirits, and although they lost their temple-statues, their groves and their caves and the earth they had so long possessed, yet they are always here still in the empty air, and with God’s permission they utter their scattered cries. Often they are God’s scourges; often he allows certain things to be announced through them to men.”

The author of these words gives a gentle indication of how the spiritual revelations come to be permeated by Christ, for he writes in a frame of mind that can truly be called Christ-filled. In 1607 he spoke thus of the changes that had come about in the spiritual world. Who is this man? Is he someone who has no right to speak, someone we can leave unheard? No, for without him we should have no modern Astronomy or Physics: he is Johannes Kepler. And one would like to advise those who call themselves materialists or monists and look to Kepler as their idol — one would like to advise them to consider carefully, just for once, this passage in Kepler’s writings. The greatest astronomical laws, the three Kepler laws, which dominate present-day Astronomy, are his. Yet you have heard how he speaks of the new influence which gradually enters into Earth evolution with the fifth post-Atlantean epoch. We must all again get accustomed by degrees — having thoroughly absorbed the new influence — to recognise something of the spiritual activities connected with the stars. ~Rudolf Steiner,Christ and the Spiritual World: The Search for the Holy Grail

On February 4, 1600, Kepler met Tycho Brahe, he stayed as a guestin his observatory, analyzing some of Tycho’s observations of Mars; Tycho guarded his data closely, but was impressed by Kepler’s theoretical ideas & soon allowed him more access. Through most of 1601, he was supported directly by Tycho, who assigned him to analyzing planetary observations . Tycho secured him a commission as a collaborator on the new project he had proposed to the emperor. Two days after Tycho’s unexpected death on October 24, 1601, Kepler was appointed his successor as imperial mathematician with the responsibility to complete his unfinished work. The next 11 years as imperial mathematician would be the most productive of his life.

Kepler slowly continued analyzing Tycho’s Mars observations—now available to him in their entirety—& began the slow process of tabulating the Rudolphine Table.

In October 1604, a bright new evening star appeared, but Kepler did not believe the rumors until he saw it himself. Kepler began systematically observing the nova. Astrologically, the end of 1603 marked the beginning of a fiery trigon, the start of the about 800-year cycle of great conjunctions; astrologers associated the two previous such periods with the rise of Charlemagne (c. 800 years earlier) & the birth of Christ (c. 1600 years earlier), & so expected events of great portent, especially regarding the emperor. It was in this context, as the imperial mathematician & astrologer to the emperor, that Kepler described the new star two years later in his De Stella Nova. The birth of a new star implied the variability of the heavens. In an appendix, Kepler also discussed the recent chronology work of the Polish historian Laurentius Suslyga; he calculated that, if Suslyga was correct that accepted timelines were four years behind, then the Star of Bethlehem—analogous to the present new star—would have coincided with the first great conjunction of the earlier 800-year cycle

In 1611, the growing political-religious tension in Prague came to a head. Emperor Rudolph—whose health was failing—was forced to abdicate as King of Bohemia by his brother Matthias. However, it was clear that Kepler’s future prospects in the court of Matthias were dim.

In 1615, Kepler’s mother Katharina was accused of witchcraft.

Kepler’s laws of planetary motion were not immediately accepted. Several major figures such as Galileo and René Descartes completely ignored Kepler’s Astronomia nova. Epitome of Copernican Astronomy was read by astronomers throughout Europe, & following Kepler’s death it was the main vehicle for spreading Kepler’s ideas. In the period 1630 – 1650, this book was the most widely used astronomy textbook, winning many converts to ellipse-based astronomy. This culminated in Isaac Newton’s Principia Mathematica (1687), in which Newton derived Kepler’s laws of planetary motion from a force-based theory of universal gravitation.

Kepler’s self-authored poetic epitaph:

I measured the skies, now the shadows I measure

Skybound was the mind, earthbound the body rests

1670 – Deathday of John Amos Comenius, Czech bishop, philosopher, & educator.

“Our task is to appeal to those forces which we have as a replacement for the ancient way of grasping the spiritual. There are two ways of doing this. One way is to continue to propagate tradition and many secret societies arose from being satisfied with the propagation of what the ancient said through tradition. However, there were people who attempted to reckon with the new soul forces which came in as replacements for it. They attempted to translate that which came in from the ancient way in the form of pictures, of direct perception into the form of intellectual power, this intellect which is bound to the physical body of our 5th post-Atlantean period. One of the people who tried to do this was Amos Comenius.

Very few people today know that Amos Comenius was the actual founder of the modern pedagogy and that he founded the primer in the 16th, 17th century…

The whole way of writing children’s books rests upon Amos Comenius. He was connected with many secret brotherhoods all over Europe and he wanted to establish what he called his “Pan Sophia”. In the beginning of our period, in the 16th, 17th century, we have in Amos Comenius a human being who knew that now is the time for a sudden change, that one must transmute all the knowledge from earlier times into the form of external intellect. You do not simply continue it in the form of the ancient tradition. This tradition rests upon that which was the Temple architecture. Amos Comenius had as his task translating in his “Pan Sophia” everything which worked in the 5th post-Atlantean period and he says the following: “Why should the Temple of Pan Sophia be erected according to the ideas, directions and laws of the higher architect Himself? Because we have to follow the primal picture of the totality; measure, number, position and the goal of the paths according to the wisdom of God, Himself, when, indeed, He instructed Moses to erect the Tabernacle, then Solomon to erect the Temple and finally Ezekial to reestablish the Temple. The structure materials of Solomon’s Temple were very precious stones, metals, marble and sappy, good smelling trees like spruce and cedar.” And so we want to establish a school of wisdom, a universal wisdom, a “Pan Sophia” wisdom so that one can say that that which is in Goethe’s Wilhelm Meister, which was represented in the Wander Years, is a continuation of what Amos Comenius wanted.” ~Rudolf Steiner, Things in Past and Present in the Spirit of Man
