growing a new head

Rudolf Steiner

‘I Think Speech’ podcast

Dear friends – For years now I have been suffering from headaches. I have tried many things to bring balance & healing. Some days are worse than others. I often ask my angel what I can do. This morning as I was waking I had an image of a powerful force like a hose of energy circulating from my heart to the back of my head, with my throat at the center of the lemniscate. I awoke gasping for air, like the hose was pushing water at a high pressure thru me & that I could drown.

I have been having water dreams all week, which I attribute to my social anxiety that always surfaces before I do public presentations, & with Ascension (Tomorrow!) & Whitsun on the horizon I thought ok I’m needing to bring equanimity & trust into my feeling life, but this was different.

Then this morning I was looking thru notes that I have gathered from Spiritual Science about the heart. Since I have been working with the ‘6 Basic’ Essential Exercises this one stood out:

Rudolf Steiner

Rudolf Steiner speaks about the etheric heart in relation to its new position in the back of the head outside the physical body.

It is quite important that this is taken into account. It arises as a mighty net of etherized blood which creates an individual thin little skin separating it from the cosmic ether. With this we have made another step in understanding the size and position of the etheric heart.

This new etheric heart organ, as sense organ or Sun-eye, will be able to develop for the future. When we look into ourselves, we can experience our etheric eye as a cognitive eye. It can become the organ for going into one’s own depth. Here we experience the flaming, scorching and burning emotions, desires, passions and drives on the one hand, on the other that in us which does not connect with them, because it is our eternal being. It lives alongside of it. Therefore we can say that the new etheric organ becomes cognitive for our eternal being in the depth of the metabolism and will organization. While our head holds our soul as if buried within, we comprehend ourselves, our eternal being, in the dark depth of will purified from emotions and drives.” ~ May 1, 1915 (GA 161)

Trials of the Knights Templar - Wikipedia

1310 – 54 Templars, all denying the charges, are burnt to death in a field near the convent of Saint-Antoine outside Paris.

Florence Nightingale - Wikipedia

1820 – Birthday of Florence Nightingale, Italian-English nurse, social reformer, and statistician. Her social reforms included improving healthcare for all sections of British society, advocating better hunger relief in India, helping to abolish prostitution laws that were harsh for women, and expanding the acceptable forms of female participation in the workforce. Nightingale was a prodigious and versatile writer. In her lifetime, much of her published work was concerned with spreading medical knowledge. Some of her tracts were written in simple English so that they could easily be understood by those with poor literary skills. She was also a pioneer in data visualization with the use of infographics, effectively using graphical presentations of statistical data. Much of her writing, including her extensive work on religion and mysticism, has only been published after her death.

POD (Poem Of the Day)

~Cracked open
Will the seed
Laid into the void
Progress & grow?
The gods circle round
Hunting for ideas that lie dormant
Thoughts unexpressed
Seeds that remain uncultivated
These they plant in the clay of another life
Better able to fill the void
With fertile fruit

Ascension Verse #6 – Geoff Norris

The Secret Teachings, The Elementals, & The Etheric Christ  Hazel Archer

Calendar of the Soul – Luigi Morelli

For those who are familiar with the Calendar of the Soul we could say that during spring and summer we follow the ascent of cosmic life, cosmic light, cosmic warmth and cosmic Word as gifts bestowed upon the human being by the cosmos. By being receptive to them we strengthen our connection to cosmos and Self.

We will briefly explore the dynamics of the year, then look at what qualities of soul we need to develop as we move into spring and summer, most particularly from Easter to Ascension and Whitsun. We will look at the verses of the calendar in conjunction with the artistic renditions of Anne Stockton and Karl König, drawn for each of the verses.

We will ask ourselves: How can we live into and grow from this time of the year? How can we deepen our inner relationship to the event of Ascension? What can we receive and what can we give?

Angels, in the early morning
May be seen the Dews among,
Stooping — plucking — smiling — flying —
Do the Buds to them belong?”
